I bought this thermometer and liked it but it won't stop beeping now. I put in fresh batteries but still beeping. Is it shot or can it be reset?

I think I had this problem with mine but don't remember how I fixed it. Contact Pavia and they will help you their service is wonderful.

Should I use Vaseline on this because I get different readings every time ?

Vaseline is probably not compatible with the plastic probe material. KY or a similar non-petroleum lubricant would be more suitable. The lubricant should help with tissue contact and consistency of your readings.
