Awesome machine!
I was looking at this machine and the Brother CS6000i because they both have the exact features I was looking for.... most especially full speed control, feed dog drop, extension table, and being computerized. I am most especially interested in quilting and making bags, decorative pillows and accessories such as slippers, as well as warm winter clothing and pajamas. Now the Brother definitely has the price on it's side but I already knew Janome has a reputation for making solid machines that do not wear down quickly and use metal parts wherever possible Well, I went ahead and bought this machine as an open box/used one to bring down the price a bit, as regularly this machine is priced much higher than the Brother. So I ended up paying 50$ more than I would have for the Brother. what I got was a torn up box, but the machine inside looks and acts like it has never been used and is in perfect working order with not a scratch on it. In addition, I have a very solid machine, the likes of which I would expect to pay much much more than I did, and even more than I would have paid had it been "new". This machine sews rock solid straight. It feels like a solid machine and does not feel like I could easily break it. I have managed to get it to sew through multiple layers of fabric easily. The machine is quiet, and I have gained confidence in my sewing due to having complete control over the speed... even with just using the foot pedal, the speed of the machine is intuitive. It does not start suddenly at high speed after hesitating like my previous machine did. It is very responsive to the touch. The bobbin was easy to wind and load, the stitch selection and size is easy to program. I especially like that I can see the bobbin working as I go and know when it is getting close to empty. One other thing that made me choose this machine over the Brother is that it uses a standard 15 bobbin, rather than a specialized bobbin designed just for Brother machines. I am really happy that I can just keep using the bobbins I have and did not have to purchase special bobbins just for that machine. I expect to still be using this machine for a long long time and standardized bobbins I know I will always be able to get. This is a great machine and more well than worth it's retail price. I am very happy with this purchase.

Excellent sewing machine!!!
This is truly an exceptional quality sewing machine! I waited 2 weeks to write this review while working on a project made of different types of denim. The machine performs flawlessly, the stitches are very even, no tangles, no problems. I also tried a few embroidery stitches and they came out perfect as well. I LOVE the self-threading feature! It speeds my work immensely! It used to take me sometimes good 5 minutes if not more to thread a machine! Now it's a question of just a few seconds. I LOVE the pin cushion! I always used to chase my pins all over the floor - not any more. The operation of the machine is very simple and quick, no time spent on learning is necessary, it's all very simple and logical. I like seeing the different types of stitches in front of me too, it helps my creativity. I also tried the automatic button hole maker - that's like a miracle! There is nothing bad I could point out about this sewing machine, it is really excellent quality, a great precision and a very good value for the money. You can feel there was some experienced seamstress working with the engineers on this machine. The only thing I may change in the future is the light bulb. It's not dimm, but I like the light to be very bright (some people don't like it glaring too much). I definitely recommend this sewing machine to any seamstress of any level of experience. Excellent product!

Huge Upgrade! Smooth, Powerful, and Feature-Rich!
I purchased the Janome JW8100 Fully-Featured Computerized Sewing Machine for my wife after she was getting frustrated with issues on her old Brother machine. This Janome has been a game-changer, and she absolutely loves it! Powerful and Smooth: She immediately noticed how smooth it runs. It handles everything with ease and has already sewn through all the materials she has thrown at it (thick layers and heavy fabrics) without a problem. Feature-Packed: She constantly tells me it has more features than her old machine. The 100 stitches and 7 buttonholes offer fantastic versatility for all her projects, from garment making to quilting. Quality & Reliability: It's clearly a high-quality machine that has restored her love for sewing. If you're looking for a reliable, powerful, and easy-to-use computerized machine that feels like a big step up, this Janome is an excellent choice!

Great for beginners AND experienced makers!
I’ve personally been a loyal Husqvarna Viking owner for 25+ years. Like cars or special trinkets, you tend to collect a few here and there; especially if it’s your passion or hobby. When I would travel & teach quilting, my classrooms would be filled with all kinds of machine brands. I learned a lot from my students about machine preferences. Subjective, yet informative. My dream machine has been a Bernina for many years. Because I don’t have a Bernina budget, I looked at the next brand on my list—Janome. This machine is wonderful. It stitches smoothly. It’s quiet. It’s lightweight, yet sturdy. The 1/4” foot is lovely. I’d have to say that my only complaint is wishing the light was a little brighter, but that’s a matter of personal preference. This is a great “bang for your buck” machine whilst being a top of the line brand. It’s definitely a machine that is both beginner friendly and impressive to a seasoned maker. So whether you’re looking to replace your main machine or have a little side piece machine, this is definitely one worth owning.

Great Sewing Machine Bundle On A Budget
So far machine performance is great. Instructions were easy enough to follow. Price was great, and the quality is not cheap. This is the best bundle option I've found for someone learning to sew and wants to do a variety of sewing crafts. The price I paid for this bundle is the average price for just a quality starter sewing machine... and you'd pay extra for each of the presser foot and the extension table. (I researched a bunch of machines and accessories before making this purchase). I highly recommend this machine and bundle for anyone new to sewing and/or wanting to get back into it who's also on a very limited budget but wants a quality machine and doesn't want to pay extra for the additional presser feet and table. I made my very first quilted tote bag with no machine issues!!!... And I'm 'sew' excited to make many more 😁

A very nice machine
I have had this sewing machine for about a month. I was about half way finished with a quilt when I received it. This machine is very easy to use and the instructions were easy to understand. It went through the seams nicely without any hesitation while using the quilting/walking foot (the one I bought came with the walking foot). It’s much quieter than my old machine so that is a plus. This model has a few fancy stitches and I used one at the hem of an apron I made ( the next project after completing the quilt). I transport my sewing machine to the sewing club and I find it a nice weight for this purpose too. At approximately 12 pounds it’s not hard for me to lift in and out of my travel bag. The extra supplies that come with the machine are in a zip lock but I found it hard to find the items I needed so I am using a makeup bag I purchased from the dollar store to keep them organized. All in all I think this is a great machine for a beginner and a moderate sewer like me. I would highly recommended this sewing machine

Great first sewing machine
I recently purchased the Janome JW8100 Fully-Featured Computerized Sewing Machine and I am extremely impressed with its performance. This machine has 100 built-in stitches and 7 buttonholes, making it versatile for a wide range of sewing projects. The computerized features are easy to use and allow for precise stitching. The machine comes with a hard cover and extension table, which are both very useful for protecting the machine and providing extra space for larger projects. The 22 included accessories are also a nice bonus and make it easy to get started right away. I have used this machine for various projects, from simple alterations to more complex garments, and it has performed flawlessly every time. The stitches are consistent and the machine runs smoothly and quietly. Overall, I highly recommend the Janome JW8100 to anyone looking for a reliable and feature-packed sewing machine. It is a great value for the price and I am very happy with my purchase.

Lots of BANG for your BUCKS with this GREAT machine!
This is a A+++ machine at this price point - so many stitches and feet! I have a big Janome that is just too much to take out of the house for guild workshops and travel. I did a lot of research before purchasing and found the JW8100 had everything I wanted in a smaller machine that cost under $400. I love that it came with a hard cover for protection when it's in the car. The first thing I did when I unboxed it was to stitch out ALL the stitches and the buttonholes - wanted to make sure they looked good, they were better than just good, they were perfect! The lighting could be better but I have a stick-on LED light I bought that increases the lighting just fine. I've already taken it to 3 classes since buying in Jan. 2025, some of my guild friends have since purchased one too after giving mine a try. As long as one uses quality thread and the right size needles for whatever you sew, and regularly clean the bobbin area, this machine will be your friend for a long time.
