Nova Maple Candy - Pure Maple Syrup Sugar Leaf Candy (16 Ounces (1 Pound))

Very good maple sugar candy. It must have been made from this year's maple tree sap run. The season starts when the winter weather ends, the temperatures start rising and the sap starts running. They then tap the tree, collect the sap and boil it down to make the syrup and candy. It came packaged in a vacuum-tight sealed bag. The candy was very soft and started hardening after a few days of being open. I was worried about ordering any maple sugar candy from any company, due to all of the review comments about dried-out, hard candy. The way Nova packaged it prevented it from drying out before it arrived. There are flyers in the packaging to let you know to consume the product soon after opening, with about a 3-month expiration date. I am not sure if this way of packaging works longer than the 3-month expiration date, or if they make the candy fresh throughout the year and package it this way. I sure hope so, as I want to be able to order it all year long and not just after the sugar run. Thanks Nova, for packing your candy to keep it fresh and soft. It's the way soft maple sugar candy should be.

Nice flavor and consistency. Price is among lowest and delivery is one of the few that is next day which kicks it up to 5 stars. Another I ordered took most of 2 weeks to arrive.

These are great

I've had pure maple syrup sugar leaf candy from other companies, but this one is really disappointing. Usually this type of candy melts in your mouth, but this one turns into a strangely gluey wad that becomes pretty challenging to eat. There are large white splotches on some of the pieces that are very unappealing -- don't know if they're an indication of having been stored poorly or if it's something else? The candies came with only a couple of weeks left before their "best by" date, so maybe that's the problem. I'll try another brand...

I grew up in upstate NY (Adirondack Region) and maple candies were a treat on our fall hikes. Since leaving NY for greener pastures I have sorely missed them. To my understanding, these are made from PA Maple Syrup. We can argue about which state, or Canada, has the best maple syrup another time. Some reviews said the weight was only a half pound. First thing I did was weight all the candies together after taring the bowl. It came out to almost 17oz. These candies melt in your mouth and last a long time like a good quality maple candy. Cheap ones will crumble in your mouth like pressed sugar. Overall I like them a lot! Price a little more than I would like but at least they're quality candies!

These are great quality and within affordable price for maple candies. There were two sizes in the box, mostly the smaller size, with a few medium sizes. We tried to make these last as long as we could. They are too easy to eat! We also gifted them and they were well received by recipients. They looked great and held up well.

The candies came well packaged and are fresh. They have a strong maple flavor. The consistency is a bit off but not of enough to rank the candies lower. The consistency is closer to a caramel texture and dense. It sticks to the roof of your mouth. Now that is not all bad since you savor it longer. I am used to light golden maple candy that literally melts in your mouth in a few seconds. This candy does not dissolve quickly and you could almost say it is a semi-hard candy. Never-the-less , it is good but too dense for me.
