Excellent.. seriously..
I've had two of these now for about a year and a half.. they are fantastic. The battery life (particularly after a few cycles) is excellent - the connections are robust and satisfying and I love every opportunity I have to use them. I mostly use them in combination with Sennheiser plug in transmitters and AKG blue line condenser mics as audience mics for live shows. I can put them in the grid without cables and I know they're going to last all night without any issues. I strongly recommend.

Does the job
Quite expensive for what it is but means you can spend less on the microphone. Effortless to use and I rarely seem to need to charge it.

Life saver if you need XLR phantom power
I use Rodelink for a remote video microphone and the tx unit provided phantom power. The camera provides the phantom power for the other microphone. I needed two remote microphones for a nativity play but Rode have discontinued the XLR tx unit, and my other tx unit had a 3.5mm input with no phantom power. I bought the Xvive P1 and a XLR to 3.5mm short cable. The unit came well packaged and with some charge. It was a case of setting the phantom power to 48v (switch for 12v or48v) then switch on. Microphone came to life and after a full charge, I left it powering a microphone overnight and there was still 2 bars on the power meter. Charges from a standard USB port. Simple to operate, no discernible noise on the microphone circuit, long lasting battery. If you need remote XLR phantom power, this is a great low cost solution.

GREAT IDEA but be warned of voltage spikes on output
I thought this would be a great idea to power a Sennheiser MKH-416 microphone, so purchased. I liked it out of the box - nice design and sturdy with good connectors. BUT I discovered a crucial design fault with it. Yes the unit provides 12 or 48v upstream to the microphone, but when switching on or off, there is a voltage spike *downstream* of up to 35 volts (as I measured with a multimeter across pins 1 and 3). If this device is connected to a wireless transmitter unit or other delicate electronics, it could quite possibly cause fatal damage. Don't ask me how I know! It wasn't just my unit - I found another owner who tested his unit also and confirmed my findings. EDIT - I've had a reply from Xvive: P1 product has an output coupling capacitor set. Reason for voltage generation: When the power is turned off, the coupling capacitor will release voltage to the output terminal instantly. At this point, the charge-coupled by the capacitor is very small, and as long as there is a load on output, the charge disappears quickly. If you test P1 output is un-load, As you tested, the voltage will disappear with the release of the capacitor If you connect the output to another device, the voltage of the capacitor will be affected by another device's input impedance of the other device, making this voltage less than 0.5V. Belongs to normal voltage. All electronic devices release a voltage when turned off. Due to the music category, this voltage will also be released through the speaker. So the general shutdown sequence is to first turn off the speaker, then turn off the mixer, then turn off the wireless system, then turn off p1, and then turn off the microphone. If turned on, it is the reverse order of this order. At present, we sell a lot of P1 and have not received any issues regarding damaged backend devices yet.

Ottimo
