Ignore any reviews of this saw questioning it's ability to cut wood. I craft with bamboo daily, sold over 1500 artisan bamboo products on Etsy. I can asuure you, bamboo is not wood, and cutting it is not the same. Here in America we all grew up attending wood shop in school building our housesfrom timber. We understand tree wood. Bamboo however is hollow, with a different cellular structure and completely different grain than timber. Plus it has a thin outer skin which tends to fray if not cut with care. This saw is my new favorite for cutting bamboo, and I've tried a bunch. It cuts easy and clean without much effort. I use it for both cured and fresh cut, multiple bamboo species, and it deliers nice cuts across the board. Don't be surprised if your bamboo saw dosn't cut tree branches as good as you'd hoped. However, If you plan to use your bamboo saw to cut bamboo, well then you'll find it works very well. The protective shell is all gravy-

I purchased the bamboo cutting hand saw to prune the overgrowth from several birds of paradise plants. The leaf stalk fibers are kind of similar to bamboo and this Japanese handsaw cut through both green and dried, dead stalks like butter. I actually have a smaller Japanese pruning saw but its length isn't long enough to slice across wide stalks, that one takes more time to cut. This Kakuri bamboo cutting blade will make this chore so much easier. I have no issues with the blade thickness. It does flex a little bit, but that's a bonus for maneuverability with these damn birds of paradise leaf stalks.

The first hand saw that can cut "old" bamboo stock in an instant. The teeth are such that the tough stem of a mature bamboo stalk can stay in the "groove" and not veer away. Fantastic, for someone who has ti fight the invasive nature of "walking" bamboo groves. Very satisfied with this.

I grow a lot of bamboo and cut it for use as stakes and various projects. I have previously cut the bamboo cane with a large pruner, the cutter ended up crushing the canes. I wanted to be able to cut bamboo and needed a saw with fine teeth. This saw fit the bill nicely, the blade has many small teeth and makes a nice clean cut. The saw blade is thin buts works well to cut the bamboo quickly and I can easily cut angled cuts which I wasn't able to do with pruners.

Perfect for hand trimming bamboo. Very effective and rapidly cuts through bamboo. Blade thickness is narrow but gentle pressure is sufficient to cut through the bamboo surface.

Also wirklich tolle Schneidleistung, jedoch ist der Umgang für unerfahrene Nutzer schwierig und führt schnell zur Zerstörung der Säge. Habe einmal nicht richtig aufgepasst und schon war der Totalschaden da. Klinge verbogen und beim richten abgebrochen. Und nun habe ich gesehen, daß es zwar das Klingenwechselsystem gibt, jedoch gibt es keine Ersatzsägeblätter zu kaufen. Nochmal Mist. Also Sägeverhalten hat mir gefallen. Es ist eine Bambussäge und dafür habe ich sie ausschließlich auch genutzt. Dann auch besser nicht zu große Durchmesser damit schneiden. Der Schnitt muss langsam und kontrolliert erfolgen, dann sollte die Säge auch lange halten.

These blades and very sharp and practical for pruning branches and felling trunks which are very controlled.

At last, a saw designed for the job. Only the Japanese could come up with a blade that makes the annual thinning of my ever increasing black bamboo so quick and EASY. I only went out to test it and within half an hour the job was done. The tiny teeth, so different from a classic pruning saw, cut cleanly through each cane in three cuts without leaving a ragged edge. I am genuinely impressed. Love a tool that's made for a specific task.
