Fantastic Books! One of my granddaughters, aged 9, recommended these books. I got them for another granddaughter, and she is crazy about them. We read them together on Zoom, using my document camera. I enjoy the books too. I am tutoring my granddaughter, and it has just the right amount of new vocabulary to expand her knowledge. The stories are fairytale-like, but with friends that 9-year-old girls can identify with. Highly recommend!

These are great little books. There are lovely twists and turns to the plot that keep my 7 yr old twins captivated, and at times on the edge of their seat. There are some intense moments, but nothing too scary. We have read books 1-8 so far, and are planning to continue the series

My daughter is 6 years old, and an advanced reader for her age. However, she doesn't enjoy books without pictures and she doesn't like reading chapter books on her own (I totally get it). BUT, I wanted to push her just a tiny bit to branch out, so I purchased these for us to read together. She is completely hooked! She and her younger sister absolutely love this series. Usually I'll read a chapter, and then the girls and I will discuss what we've read, what we think about characters, who we think is the "bad guy" etc. It's been great for developing their reading comprehension skills, and getting them to love books and reading. Bonus - it's great fun for me too, I love the books just as much as they do!

This book set was a Christmas gift for my granddaughter and she loved it!

Books were well written and my daughter generally enjoyed them. That said, it should be noted that the story was far less light hearted and fun, and more scary and intense, then I was expecting, with lots of occult themes and nightmare fuel monsters tormenting the girls. That's not necessarily a bad thing if that's what your looking for, and it didn't seem to bother my daughter, but its something to be aware of. We were expecting Unicorn Academy or Pokemon, and got Goosebumps or Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

I wish these books existed when I was young. They have everything a young girl likes, friendship, magic, talking animals, sisterhood, etc. I’ve been reading them with my 6 year old. I wasn’t sure she would have the attention span for a novel, but she loves it!
