Great Keyboard!
Review typed with the keyboard! VERY much enjoy this keyboard! VERY solid construction, and it feels like it. Much heavier than I thought it would be. Bought it to have as a travel keyboard for going in my laptop bag, and it will fit perfectly in my laptop bag! I got the brown switch version, and damn are the switches nice! Probably the best typing experience I've had in a long time. Just have to build the muscle memory for the size and shape of it, which won't take long. Can be Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, or wired which is also really cool. The software itself leaves a lot to be desired, but I didn't really buy the keyboard for the macro functions or trying to have RGB, as the one I bought is only a blue backlight. Battery life seems to be ok. Was playing some games last night with it, and it didn't get any lower than 60% while playing for hours on end. Definitely recommend this keyboard! Just pick which switches you like the most, and just get it already lol

Great keyboard for work, shcool, or games
love this thing. defiantly a great keyboard to use weather its for gaming or work. i appreciate all the features it has, like Bluetooth, wireless, and wired connection. it has a soft wear, you can get it from the original royal krunge website under software. it has a great battery life, it looks great and it the perfect size at around 15.5 inc and 6 inc. it also sound great too. the only bad thing is the color options, its limited to a blue, its nice but i would appreciate a little difference once in a while.

Nice Keyboard
This Royal Kludge RK96 is an excellent keyboard with fantastic initial quality, except for one issue I’ll describe later. I also have a Royal Kludge RK61 that I can compare against. First impression is that this keyboard is way heavier than expected. I'd attribute that to the very large battery. The LED lighting is a nice feature. The pale light blue is pleasant, and there are loads of lighting modes to choose from. My favorite are the reactive modes, where the lights react to each keypress. However, I could see that becoming distracting very quickly. The keys all move very nicely, and I don't notice a significant difference in the feel of each of the keys. I got the board with the brown switches, which feels just right. The keys have a fairly uniform feel. The bump of the brown-style key is present, though I don’t notice it all that much when actively typing. The sound of each keypress is pleasant, though if you hit some of the keys hard enough, there’s a bit of a ping sound on the release, especially on keys near where the letters meet the number pad. Compared to my RK61, it feels a bit more solid. I'm not able to fully compare the sound as my RK61 has the blue switches (also nice, but not suited for office work). The keycaps are a bit more glossy on this keyboard than the grainy texture felt on the RK61.Bluetooth on this keyboard works nicely. It’s fairly easy to connect to my device without a lot of hassle. I’ve yet to test the other connection methods, but I’m glad they are available. The hotkeys all appear to work correctly. I like the volume control, which is far easier to access than the RK61. The battery indicator from the hot keys is a very nice touch, and it appears to move in 10% increments.Downsides:From how I sit in front of the keyboard, the indicator lights for Numlock, Capslock, etc are blocked by the keys in front of them. I would have to lean over the keyboard to be able to see those lights. It’s odd, but I don’t need to look at that often enough to be a big issue.A bigger problem was that the enter key next to the number pad appeared to be inserted incorrectly. When I attempted to pull the key cap using the supplied tool, the switch came with it. The pins under the switch were a bit bent. After adjusting the pins and re-inserting the switch and keycap, it appears to work just fine. This is something that should have been corrected in quality control in the factory. For this issue, I took a star off the rating. Not really a downside, since this keyboard is specifically downsized, but I wish RK made a full-size Bluetooth keyboard. There’s surprisingly few options out there for that criteria.

Just What I Wanted
I'm not a keyboard expert or snob. I grew up using 1980s mechanical keyboards and haven't had a mechanical keyboard since the PS/2 connector. I have had some $50 keyboards from major brands (Logitech, mostly). I decided it was time to splurge. I was willing to pay up to $200, if I could find a perfect keyboard. Well, this RK96 appeared to fit the bill for a lot less, so I gave it a try. I ordered the one with brown switches, all white keys and blue backlighting. I must say I'm very impressed, it is very easy to type with it. The thunk sound of the keys are pleasant and all the keys are very smooth and they have a good bottoming out when fully pressed.I have a WiFi card that also has a Bluetooth chip built in, so I connected to it quickly with no issues at all. It's very responsive with Bluetooth, so I appreciate not having to use another USB port just for a keyboard.I didn't care about a bunch of flashy backlighting, so I chose the option where it it always lit but the key you just pressed makes the backlight disappear for a brief moment (there's also the option to not disappear). Many other keyboards only have lighting that shows under the keys, this one shows through the key so you can see the letter/number/symbol in the dark as well.A feature I like a lot is the rotary volume control at the top right of the keyboard. My old keyboard had 2 buttons that I had to get my face close to the keyboard and look at the symbols to know if I were pressing the vol+ or vol- (with no backlight). I can adjust the volume with this keyboard blindfolded very easily. The only downside I have noticed so far is the larger feet were so tight the first time opening them up, I thought I was going to break them. But after opening them the first time, they were much easier afterwards. Maybe the factory could do a one time opening of them to loosen them up?This is a great keyboard for people who just want a quality device with simple options, but it does have some advanced options if you want to play around. But really, who wants lights flashing around like a nightclub on a regular basis? You may play with that for a while, but will probably choose something simple after the gimmicks wear off. Gamers might like the modes where only certain keys light up, but I'm not a gamer, so I can't comment on that. The one thing I would like to configure is having the backlighting to come on when I type and turn off after about a minute. I think it could be done with some software installed, but I don't want more stuff installed on my PC. I'm fine with FN+UP And FN+DOWN.Overall, I would recommend this keyboard. It can be as simple as you want, but also offers a lot of flexibility and advanced features you may want. To note, this entire review was typed on this keyboard. Don't blame the keyboard for my opinions or bad grammar.

One of the best
I liked this so much I bought it twice. This is one of the smoothest keyboards on the market. I'm serious, keystrokes feel like the bamboo chime in a Japanese fountain. Therapeutic and satisfying typing if that makes sense.
