Sound Quality Is Superb
This device works very well. My new PC had no SPDIF Optical out. Plugged this into a USB port and I now have crystal clean 24 Bit audio to listen to my music on the BIG speakers and my AV Amplifier. It's a more cost effective option than installing a PCI card in the computer. One minor issue: The first one I ordered had a short in the USB cable. The sound would stop under the weight of the Optical cable plugged into it. Hanging there caused a short. Must be manufacturing issue. Given the reasonable price, I just bought a second one and it works fine. Now I have two. One as a spare I guess. I can get the bad one to work if I hold up the cable in a manner to take the weight off the USB connecter. Strange issue, but I didn't bother to send it back. The cost of shipping wouldn't be worth it. It's a great product but needs better quality control in manufacturing.

Works to hook a TV soundbar up for your desk
Worked perfectly for using a Samsung 2.1 soundbar with wireless sub for a desk PC setup. No drivers, it was instantly recognized as a sound device in Windows 11. This soundbar made for TV is always ready to go and working when I need it to.

Plug and play! Great for Laptops or adding DAC support to PC
This works fabulously! Had to replace my 11yo PC build and lost the onboard SPDIF port I use to connect my DAC/Headphone amp. Only other alternative is a $100+ PCI card with ton of features I wouldn't be using. Saved a lot of money, and works great. Flawless installation, and Just Worked with Windows 11. No configuration needed other that switching Audio Output Device in the Sound settings. Highly recommend if using DAC with a laptop or any PC that doesn't port onboard.

Great Little Adapter, Huge Sound Difference
I picked this up to improve the audio quality from my PC to my Samsung HW-S50B soundbar. Bluetooth just wasn’t cutting it, the sound was hollow, lacked bass, and didn't use the center speaker at all. This inexpensive adapter completely changed that. It was plug-and-play on Windows, I just had to switch my sound output from Bluetooth to SPDIF and I was good to go. Now I get clean, full sound with strong bass and much better center channel clarity. Movies and music actually sound how they should. Build quality feels solid too, no signal dropouts, and the optical connector fits snugly into my soundbar. The price is excellent for what it delivers, especially compared to some of the overpriced alternatives out there. If you're looking to squeeze better sound out of a setup that supports optical input, this adapter is a no-brainer over Bluetooth.

Horrible Sound Quality
I used this adapter almost daily in my car for two years. I can't believe how badly this was affecting the audio in my system until I replaced it with a different USB to TOSLINK adapter on a whim. Immediately noticed a few nuisance peaks disappeared, and the mids and highs opened up and became less tense. I don't even know how this can screw up the audio so badly since it shouldn't have a DAC in it, but the results were night and day. I should have replaced this a long time ago. Properly designed digital/digital converters should not noticeably improve audio quality, but badly designed ones definitely will degrade audio quality. This is a poorly designed converter.

It works, but maybe limited
Worked as described but didn't fix my issue. Used to connect a laptop to a mid 2000s home theater receiver. The laptop only saw it as a stereo output, couldn't figure out how to switch it to 5.1. Couldn't even make a custom bios for it. Could have been user error.

It delivers the promised product.
I used this device to connect my HTPC to a soundbar, the MoBo didn't have an optical out, I couldn't get ARC working well with the TV and this sound bar, and using the optical out on the TV would prevent the TV from exposing the sub of my 2.1 system leaving a lot of things to be desired. This device promised to take a USB port and make it that Optical out I needed; and it does that. It exposes an audio out as an option, it supports the 2.1 setup, and will passthrough Most of the audio types in my media library. (Emby will send the sub commands.) The issue that prevents me from being "happy" with this selection however is that this device likes to go to "sleep" after a few seconds, meaning that if you pause the video/audio/etc.. to go get a drink, answer a text, what-have-you, it'll take a good 5 seconds to bring the sound back. I've looked for drivers, I've adjusted as many settings as I can find, swapped USB Ports, and nothing has made it better. It makes starting back up again a pain. So, while it does what it says it will, it is not the best for my use case. Notes: This delay is not in place on a direct optical connection from the TV, or from an optical out on another Mobo, so it 'is' this device. Using USB 2.0, and 3.1 did not make a difference.

Funciona Perfectamente

No modo 192khz ele as vezes trava, fica distorcido. No modo 48khz ele funciona sem problemas. Não sei se é problema no firmware dele, não sei se tem como atualizar, no manual não tinha nenhuma informação sobre isso, eu busquei informacao e diz que nao tem, entao o problema pode ser permanente.
