Worth the high price
I bough several of the VIVO desk riser, and while OK, I wasn't thrilled with it. For my personal use, I wanted to see if the $200 extra is worth it for me to buy this Versadesk....luckily I bought a good as new used desk for $150. I hope to make a fair comparison since not many reviewers here have owned the cheaper risers and the versa desk. What I like:1. Very good packaging. Very easy assembly. Just 4 thumb screws. No tools needed2. Thick material...about 50% thicker than the VIVO.3. Better material...surface is glossy and high quality. Switches are high quality. With the VIVO you get basic MDF surface that has the finish of a cheap closet shelf4. Much sturdier. Perhaps unfair b/c this is a motorized unit. But it feels and looks much sturdier. What I don't like: though the keyboard tray is sturdier than the VIVO...there's still some flex. The weakness here is that the brackets holding the keyboard is just bent steel. For the price, please reinforce it. I hate bouncy keyboard trays.Summary: when deciding between a $100 and $350 riser, the more expensive Versadesk is obviously much better built, much sturdier. It's also much heavier. Get the VIVO if you are on a budget. It's not as good but works fine. Get the VIVO if you want to save 20lbs of weight. Some of our counters have a hard time handling the versa desk with 2 monitors, etc. Get the VIVO if you don't want another power plug. Get the VIVO if you want rapid up/down adjustment. The motor on the Versadesk is smooth and quiet...but not as fast as manual risers. But for me and for most, you'll the quality of the Versadesk much more reasuring, especially when you have it right next to the VIVO. It's much better, much sturdier. And it's American designed and made :)

Excellent Standing Desk
I did research the Versadesk vs others before I purchased. And when it came in, it was very easy to assemble and put on top of my desk. It goes up and down via the electric buttons very easily and quietly. I like that is American made and the quality is excellent. The cherry matches my existing desk and is very sturdy - like something I would get if I actually worked in an office that had higher end fittings. My only enhancement request is if the Keyboard/Mouse tray could move. It is permanently fixed to the unit and I would love to be able to flip it up and out of the way in some way when I want to use my desk as my as my writing surface. It will just take some getting used on my part to use a different area of my desk.

Great standing desk option
I did a lot of research and comparing this desk to others before settling on this one. It was very easy to assemble (just two pieces). It moves up and down with a button on the front of the desk and glides very easily. Overall it seems very sturdy. Note that the Keyboard/Mouse tray is permanently fixed to the desk and it is not very deep, so my natural/ergonomic split keyboard hangs over the edge just a bit. It easily fits two monitors on it on the 40" desk. When it is at its lowest height, it's about 4" tall which is close to the monitor riser of my third monitor when used sitting.I docked one star because of the condition when it arrived. The box was perfectly fine, but we noted that there was some paint transfer or scratches on the top of the desk, and one of the screws holding the movement assembly underneath the desk had partially ripped out. We fixed it with wood glue and put everything back together. Outside of that, it looks great and is a good value for the money. Other units were a lot more expensive.

Good Product
After sitting at desk for 8 hours, i thought i would have to retire soon due to back pain. The desk has improved my quality of life. Good construction. Works easy. Super easier. It does make a popping sound during the first second of when using it. But only last a milli second.

Great product
Amazing!! Holds my huge gaming monitor which I use for work and my 15โ laptop for work. Keyboard on lower piece. Works very well for my needs for work.

Sturdy (see recommendations). Well designed and built.
VERSADESK 48 Inch Electric Height Adjustable Ergonomic Desk ConverterGot this desk riser to address back and shoulder issues. Positive change has begun. The unit comes essentially fully assembled. No tools needed to attach the keyboard shelf. The unit is also includes attached felt pads to protect the surface of the base desk.SAFETY SUGGESTIONAs I was putting the workstation together, more than once I had my hand on the unit for balance and it "slipped", once VERY close to falling off the main desk. Here is my recommendation: Swap out the felt pads for Non-Slip Rubber pads. I did this and now the desk extender is now rock solid. NO slipping and over all improved stabilityAlso, as a sharing, not a problem. I will be converting to a smaller footprint wireless keyboard and mouse.

Versadesk has an interesting definition of "stable and sturdy"
When I first set up this converter I noticed that it had a slight lean forward. I tested it at different heights and confirmed that it does lean forward. The attached image shows a 2.7ยฐ lean, and that measurement was zeroed on the metal frame that sits on the table. Not only that, but because of the lean, the keyboard tray hits the table first while the top surface is still lowering. That causes an abrupt shift which seems quite jarring.I attempted to contact Versadesk support via their web form, but after waiting for over a week I received no response. I called their support line and was told to email support. I emailed support images of the different level readings I was getting, and I was told the engineering team would need to review them and get back to me. I waited three weeks and sent a follow-up. It took over a week to get a response that this was "completely normal" and that was it. I spent so long waiting for responses from their support that I'm outside the return period and since this is normal the warranty doesn't apply. The part that disappoints me the most about this is I bought this desk after returning one that cost half as much because it didn't feel stable enough. With the 80lbs weight rating, I justified spending twice as much to get something that would be sturdy. Instead, I spent twice as much and ended up stuck with something I'm less happy with.Lesson learned. Next time there's an issue with a purchase I'll just return it right away instead of waiting on support to resolve it.
