I have a Lexus with built-in Wireless CarPlay, which is very handy when you’re hopping in/out of the car. On long trips, I still plug the device into the USB port to keep it charging since Wireless CarPlay drains an iPhone battery pretty fast, faster than wireless charging can keep up. I wanted the same capability in my Jeep, and this ticks the boxes well for a very reasonable price. 1. The “Delay” - There’s actually two delays. The first type of delay is the time it takes from starting the car to being connected to Wireless CarPlay. On every vehicle I’ve seen/tried Wireless CP on, it always takes several seconds for the system to boot and to connect to the iPhone. The delay in connection with this device is comparable to those cars where it’s built-in, possibly a second or two longer. The second type of delay is the time between pressing a button on-screen, such as pause, and having the iPhone complete the action. Again, even on vehicles with it built-in there is typically a small delay of 1-2 seconds. Some car models are faster than others in this regard, but none are instantaneous. None are as fast as a direct-wired connection. Strangely, this doesn’t slow down the actual interface itself (e.g., swiping left/right between screens), mostly just delays play/pause commands for music and podcasts. The degree of the delay is identical to the delay I had in my Jeep when I was merely connected to the radio via Bluetooth. If I pause the music on screen via Bluetooth, there’s actually about a 2-second delay before the actual music pauses. It’s the same via Wireless CP through this device. This is likely due to this using a combination of Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity in the way that Wireless CarPlay actually works. The heavy lifting/bandwidth items are managed via WiFi connection and the commands, and probably other things, traverse via Bluetooth. At least that’s my suspicion. The delay exists in every Wireless CP implementation I’ve encountered, and nearly every Bluetooth connection, but some cart models are much more delayed than others with Jeep being one of the most pronounced I’ve experienced. Still fully usable and not a deal breaker at all. Setup is very straightforward. There is no app you need to download. It merely asks you to connect to the device via Bluetooth, and my phone immediately recognized it as a CarPlay device and requested permissions to use Wireless CarPlay. It was less than 30 seconds for the initial setup and once set up, needs no further effort. I also didn’t have to update any firmware. The device is about the same size as a traditional USB thumb drive, and it comes with a short USB-A to USB-C cable about 3” long and a short USB-C to USB-C cable also about 3” long (not counting plugs). This is the smallest of all the Wireless CP devices I saw on Amazon that had decent reviews. Lastly, I did not have to make my phone forget/disable Bluetooth to the Jeep directly. They remain paired at this time. I believe the Wireless CP simply supersedes this connection, just as wired CP likely has higher priority than wireless CP (I’ll test that soon just out of curiosity). Of course if you ever needed to turn off wireless CP, all you have to do is unplug the USB cable from this device and it powers down immediately. Overall, this is performing exactly as hoped for, at least on my Jeep, and this is coming from someone with experience in other vehicles with built-in wireless CP. This is, in my opinion, at least 95% as good if not equivalent. It’s also a very reasonable price if you just want to try it out.

I've been using this in my Camry for just over 2 weeks now and I can say this adapter works pretty much every time. I have had maybe one connection issue since I started using it, and I was able to fix that by power cycling the adapter. For my car, it consistently takes about 15 seconds from the time I start it for my phone to connect to the adapter. It also seems to reconnect seamlessly in cases where I briefly walk away from my car. The latency is as expected (~1-second video/audio delay), but I don't notice it unless I'm skipping through songs. UPDATE: after about a year of using it, I can say I noticed more connection issues with the dongle. I think the majority of the issues come from the dongle getting hot in the middle of the day, causing it to connect and run slower. If you can deal with keeping it from getting hot, or power cycling the dongle 1-2 times every few trips, it works fine otherwise.

The product is incredible when it works. But that is only about 20% - 35% of the time, and the success rate seems to be getting lower as time goes on. I have a brand new Mazda CX-5 and the fact it doesn’t have wireless connection is mind boggling, but I had high hopes for this little device, and initially it didn’t disappoint. It was a game changer to begin with. It worked about 95% of the time and had immediate connection getting into the car, no latency and very clear connection with phone calls and music, but as time has passed (3 months now), connecting has become a major problem. The first few times it was an easy fix, just had to go to my phone and manually click on the Bluetooth device to reconnect, no biggie, but now I have to dink around with unplugging it, plugging the device back into the car, delete it from my phone, pair the device again, and often having to do this SEVERAL times before it works. I get in and out of my car often throughout the day and it is a waste of time to deal with, and so frustrating knowing the wonders that I’m missing out on when it works flawlessly. I’d invest my money elsewhere for $70 if I had to do it over.

I really like this Apple CarPlay adapter! It works great and makes using CarPlay so much easier. The only downside is that it only works with one phone, which can be inconvenient if multiple people use the vehicle. Other than that, it’s a great product and performs well.

I don't review products often, but this thing has worked so well, I feel compelled to share. I'm in a 2023 Honda Ridgeline. First, it's not perfect, but I wouldn't expect it to be, given it's a retrofit on a system intended to be wired. The only issue I experience is a slight lag in changing songs and when texting via Siri. Neither is problematic in countering the convenience this device offers. I set it to a 30-second delay when connecting to the headunit, given known issues with Honda's connection speed. It reliably connects every time. The unit is out of sight, attached using a short 90-degree connecting cable and 3M velcro. Saving my phone battery but not charging every time I'm connected in the car.

Hello, I don't normally leave reviews on things. But I had to on this. I got the Auto Sky about a week ago. And when I first plugged it in my phone connected to it pretty quickly and it brought up my Apple car play pretty quickly as well. The second day didn't go so well. It took much longer to connect to my car. Using the buttons on my steering wheel on the first day was completely fine. But the second day they seemed to not respond very quickly which I wouldn't have an issue with if the delay was only a few seconds. But the delay was about 10-15 seconds every time I wanted to change the song or pause the music I would have to listen to the song for another 15 seconds. (This could also be my phones issues) (I do have a brand new iPhone 14 though) Another thing I found kind of weird but I'm not a tech pro or anything. but every time you connect to Auto Sky it turns your phone's WiFi off. And you might be thinking why does that matter? Well for me it really affected my mornings when I go to check the traffic while I wait for my car to warm up It can't load the map since my WiFi got turned off. (This is only an issue for people that live in an area with bad cell coverage.) And finally, It just feels like crap. It feels super cheap in your hands. Doesn't work well. I'd rather use a normal cable over the Auto Sky all day every day. For 75 bucks it's not worth it.

Our new Genesis G80 surprisingly didn’t come with wireless CarPlay. That is obviously a first-world complaint, and in the end, it’s not a big deal to plug in a cable Nevertheless, a quick search on this site revealed several options to enable wireless CarPlay. I found this particular product in the list, but it was significantly cheaper than the other options, around $50 at the time of the review, so I decided to give it a try. Amazon delivered the product quickly, and after that, it was only a matter of plugging it in to the designated USB port for CarPlay on my car, and then pairing my iPhone to the dongle. After driving with it all day, I have found absolutely no issues. The Bluetooth stays connected to the dongle throughout my entire drive and CarPlay is available within 30 seconds after shifting into gear. I can’t discern any audio quality loss when making calls or listening to music. I could not be happier to have a wireless option for CarPlay, especially since my previous car had it. Of course, my review is based only on a single day’s use , so time will tell how this product holds up with time. Overall, I think it is a good product so far and will update my review if anything changes.

Update: Yea this thing lasted about 6 months. Half the time I enter my car, i have to fiddle with the bluetooth connection and my radio that this is connected to for 5 minutes to actually get it to connect. And its not my phone having an issue with the connection because i recently got a new phone and tested it with that and had the same exact issues. At least this product isn't super expensive and I got some good use out of it, but If I were you, i'd just use Wired CarPlay since its insanely more reliable than poorly built devices for wireless CarPlay connections. :/ Original Review: "Got this as a gift and luckily it works with my Pioneer aftermarket CarPlay radio. it works perfectly, connects to my phone seamlessly everytime i turn on my car, its easy to setup and there doesnt seem to be any quality loss in audio and music. the only thing is that it takes 3 full seconds from when you press the play button to actually start a song, or pause it, but thats very minor. hopefully this thing is built well and can last for a many years. (only giving a 4 because reliability is unknown)"

El radio de yaris 2023 no funciona correcto con CarPlay y se desconecta con el cable. Al conectar funciona bien es fácil de conectar y soluciona que se desconectara como antes. Funciona muy bien y no se desconecta como con el cable. Funciona bien con el radio que trae mismo que trae Yaris 2023, Razie y Avanza que traen el mismo radio. Espero les sirva por que me sentía súper enojado que se desconectara y Toyota se hace bien wey con estos esteros chafas pero si se soluciono. Saludos

The only consideration to take into account when using this device is that depending on your car stereo and phone combination, you may need to disconnect or forget the Bluetooth link between the mobile phone and the car stereo to let the Apple CarPlay device do Maps, & Music at the same time. For me this prevented the phone trying to bypass the device and play straight to the car. As for the device, it delivers a fast connection with minimal delay per press of the steering controls. Brilliant addition to any vehicle for a daily commute upgrade.

Funciona excelente en un Jetta 2016, Es súper fácil de instalar y actualizar, tiene un delay de como 1 segundo al cambiar de canción pero la verdad es que por la funcionalidad es casi minúsculo, está excelente, no duden en comprarlo.

Aveces la conexión es lenta y el audio tiene retraso pero en general funciona mejor que muchas otras marcas
