This unit has the quality level and price point that is perfect for my needs. The stand is excellent. The dial works, but it is mechanically rough, has a cheap apperance and is difficult to adjust to zero on the dial. As a hobbyist who will occassionally use this item, it is a perfect fit. I can deal with its short comings and would not benefit substationally from purchasing a higher priced unit with a higher quality dial. However, if you will use it routinely or for precision machining, you will want to invest in something better.

This is absolutely false advertising. Most car mechanics are going to use a magnetic base holder with a dial indicator attached to measure run out on brake rotors? It has other automotive uses, but let's face it, Determining whether a rotor is warped or not is going to be the main use. The magnet in this base is simply WEAK. Attempting to attach it to any metal structure surrounding the rotor was very difficult if not impossible. I was thinking maybe I should have purchased a base that uses locking vice grip? I do think it would do better if you placed the magnetic base on thick, flat steel surface, but unfortunately that is not the real world, at least not my real world. So it is not a deal breaker, and I can fix it to meet my needs.

So far it appears to function just fine. I originally ordered the Nano for the different dial indicator. But it was too small, this will still mount a dovetail indicator though.

had this set for about 3 months now. i’m a machinist and i run 2 cnc’s on nightshift and manual when i need to. so it’s definitely taken a few drops and bangs. lots of coolant and hot chips, and it’s still doing exactly what i need it too. and when it says the magnetic is strong, it means the magnet is STRONG! definitely a 5 star product for the price.

Work as I expected

The stand works perfectly fine. I would like to ask Neoteck to also offer the magnetic stand with a dial indicator or plunge indicator (as shown). The plunge indicator is good but I find that I use dial indicator much more than plunge indicators.

Compared to know good and high quality dial indicator and this one was almost bang on. The dial is a bit of cheaper quality and the outer peice dosnt move very freely like the expensive ones do. .
