The character is very quirky and holds a young readers attention well. I read this with my son and he enjoyed it. Great for practicing reading skills. Review: Perfect for My Second Grader - After struggling with reading last year, my 2nd grader was ready to update her preschool books. She read one of these books at school, and fell in love with Amelia Bedelia. After reading 2 Amelia books over & over & over again, she asked if we could get her another book. I ordered this set, and on most nights, I can hear her reading them out loud to herself.

Kids love these chapter books
This was a great gift to my 7 year old granddaughter. She was starting to read chapter books and I told her that this author was her mom’s favorite when she was this age. Nice box set. For the value

Great books but not level 1
These books are so cute and fun, but I wouldn’t label them as level 1 readers. Luckily my daughter is still loving them though!

Great set
This set is my my child's favorite. She's almost three and she loves all the stories and the silly jokes. The books are good quality and sturdy enough for paperback books. For us, reading these books to my bilingual child has really helped her to learn more dimensions of the language, especially with the idioms and the play on words. For the price, this set has definitely been a great purchase.
