I've had this a few years now & use it when I need to get to our water meter each fall to insulate it against deep freezing. Even the township guys across the road use it for their water meter from time to time. It's also good to have on hand for the need of any emergencies when the water needs shut off.

I was not sure how good this wrench would be in opening the water main cover bolt. The bolt was rusted in and I had hard time twisting the bolt using this wrench. I used a hammer to hit the wrench handle to loosen the bolt and I was able to open the cover without breaking the wrench from the hammering action. It did fit the bolt perfectly and I am glad I was able to take out the bolt in case of an emergency water leaks.

This was a perfect match for my city water meter ground plate. It is a lot faster to remove bolt with this.

I recently bought this curb wrench. And I gotta say, for those not living in an apartment..it is a must have among your tools. This does exactly what it is made to do. And does it with ease! If for any reason you had a pipe issue and the water company may not arrive to your place for hours if called. That is precious time you can't afford to waste. This tool allows you to open the outside area with a water shut off to your house. You will still need a curb key to reach and shut off the valve. Which I recommend getting a 5Ft curb key. But with this curb wrench and a curb key, you can quickly and easily turn your water off and on whenever you need to!

Product does exactly what it claims. It fits perfectly on the 5-sided bolt for the water shutoff access. It is the perfect solution for a fantastic price.

A crude piece of unfinished cast iron. This might work on removing the cover for my water meter, which was my reason for purchase. But the socket is oversize, a loose fit on the nut; and the T-handle is only 3 1/2 inch long, so unlikely to apply enough torque. Rather than risk trying it, I purchased a machined socket that fits a 1/2 inch drive ratchet, for around $18.

I'm wondering if there are different sizes of this wrench, but the dimensions weren't clear on the various products, so I decided to give this one a try. The bad news is that it's way too big for my needs, but the good news is that I was able to shim it with a steel strip, and now it works like a charm. Please check the dimensions before ordering. This one is more like 23mm overall, while my nut was just under 22mm
