We bought this for my husband’s home office. He is 6’2”, and he can adjust it to a comfortable height (second highest setting). He has no trouble lifting it up or moving it back down but, of course, he needs to do it slowly and carefully. It is a pretty smooth motion. It came fully assembled, except for the keyboard tray and mouse pad. Instructions for the installation of those were a bit confusing. We use the keyboard tray and mousepad when it is not raised, and place the keyboard and mouse on the top tier when it is raised. Not a problem. Construction of the main piece appears pretty solid. My husband’s job requires him to be at the computer for hours at a time, which has given him back problems, so this desk is a lifesaver!

Update: this desk topper is kind of a pain to move up and down once you add on the keyboard tray. As you shift it down, you have to watch for the tray slipping between the levels. I'm glad I have this so I can work while standing, but I'm going to upgrade to a real electric standing desk in a few months once I move. It was worth getting this so I could use it for about a year because my back pain has improved since I no longer sit all day. Original review: I do not have a lot of upper body strength but I can move this up and down fairly easily. It has four settings. I put it on the lowest setting, which is fully collapsed, when I want to sit. I put it at the second highest setting to stand (I am 5'5" tall). I could see using the second lowest setting with a bar stool. I was able to fit my 23.6" monitor and my laptop on this at once, but just barely, so the width seems to be pretty good. It is incredibly sturdy but not too heavy for my simple IKEA desk (which is just a table top and legs). I purchased this planning to eventually splurge on an electric standing desk. Maybe I still will buy one of those, but this desk topper is good enough for me to use on a daily basis. There was no set-up for the desk topper, although the keyboard tray requires some minimal installation. My only complaint is that they keyboard tray came without instructions and my tray came with a broken piece. I am still waiting for them to replace it. I had to ask them to email me the instructions for the keyboard tray (not sure why they don't make those easy to find on their website). For now, I'm using the second tier for my keyboard which isn't perfect.

I love this thing! Hardly any assembly required, good size, goes up higher than any of the others on the market, and sells for 2-3 times less. Easy to put up and down, keyboard tray adjusts with two simple levers like the ones on my mountain bike, and the whole thing collapses to a very low profile. I'm using it right now.... nice!

upon assembly, my first time adjusting from sit to stand was so jerky motion my monitor almost fell over. So with that kind of experience back this product goes. The shift between sit and stand the adjustment is not even on both sides, right side seems to be high term than left. Was very disappointed as I was looking forward to this product.

I'm writing this review from this delightful little desk, standing while it sits in its fully lowered position on a "pub-style" dining room table (a taller-style table). As a shorter person, I don't need to extend this while at a tall table or countertop. However, for desk-sized levels, I can easily extend it to the appropriate height. I did not use the latches for the keyboard tray -- there were not clear instructions for how to install them, and the hooks were more easily installed and work fine for my height. I've taken a star off because of the difficulty in understanding how to install the keyboard tray. This is not exactly what I was looking for -- I wanted something highly portable that would hold a laptop AND a portable USB monitor. This fits my devices PERFECTLY (and I couldn't be happier about that), but it is heavy. I definitely need to clear everything off before I move it. I did not remove any stars because of that -- I knew how much it weighed when I purchased it -- but I mention this in case anyone else is assessing this desk for your needs based on portability. Because of the keyboard shelf and the super-hand middle shelf, I could actually easily work with something 5-6" less deep than this desk. But, again, that has no bearing on my feelings about the quality of this desk. You definitely need to use two hands to adjust it -- one on each side of the desk. But, again, I find that the pre-set heights are really useful and that the process of raising and lowering is very simple and easy. I do recommend this desk, if the dimensions and weight fit your needs!

This was very heavy and difficult to set up for a small woman. I did not find it easy to work and am returningit.

Works great for one of our employees that needs to stand to work throughout the day. She is able to move up easily and put back down with ease when ready to sit again.

Great product but I needed to move it to use my table for other purposes and it was too heavy. It's perfect if you don't need to move it.

This desk converter is made very well and sturdy and I can say it can support more than 30lb which is mentioned in its specifications. the only thing you should remember is the more weight you put on this workstation the more difficult it might be to lift. Although it has a very strong spring to support the weight, has its limitation as well. A minor issue I would complain is the way the keyboard and mouse plates are attached, the keyboard surface can be attached in two different ways but there is no proper guidance and diagram to mention that and it can cause some confusion for the user. I am a very technical person who can fix things such as cars and even designed and made robots but it took me a few minutes to understand the ways the keyboard tray can be attached. regarding the mouse tray it just slides into a side of the keyboard tray and although it has a hole in the sliding part there is no screw or bolt to join them together but is OK. I am using it for my laptop so I don't need to use the keyboard and mouse tray so I cannot give a feedback for how it feels in this setup and I just didn't attach them.
