ok so I bought another similar product to this with tons of good reviews, but honestly when I got it, it came in a carton box which eventually would get messed up and thrown away and so I'd have to stick this tool somewhere in my toolbox or who knows, and then nevermind what I'll do with the snaps. Not to mention it had some weird oil on it. So I returned that and got this! the tool is basically the same as the other (granted metal color instead of black), but all in all is the same thang ya'll. but this has its own case, has the snaps in an organized case, it even has a tool to remove the the cutouts that accumulate inside one of the dies (you'll know what I mean when you start using this thing, which I didnt think I needed until I started using it!), so wow, again this product has what you need. The only complain I have, which the other product had the same issue, is that the snaps with the screws attached to them are impossible to unsnap and end up breaking the material, so they must be meant for some serious think material or who knows, but to me the snaps for the screws (other ones are ok) are so hard they an unusable to me.

Ordered some outdoor tailored made netting for under my deck to help reduce bugs and cut down on the bright sun. Product came with a handheld punch. Very time consuming to use. Ordered this snap fastener kit and yes, it's essentially a vice grip with the snap components welded on, but...it works GREAT! The alignment was perfect. It not only works to attach the snaps but also cuts the hole very cleanly. Just make sure you have the tension set right. I didn't at first and the hole was frayed a little. Tightened the grip just a little more and had a perfect hole cut for the snap. Only thing I would note is that the snaps that come with the product aren't the strongest so you might consider ordering marine grade snaps separately if your project requires a strong hold. Other than that, I definitely recommend this product.

Read lots of reviews before we purchased. This is a good product and the snaps worked well on our refurbished boat cover. As with others comments, wish the magnet holding the crimp/cut assembly pieces in place were stronger. We did this project in our garage, so it was fairly easy to find dropped items. Doing this outside or in the water would be more problematic, so plan accordingly. Would definitely recommend for purchase. Saved our cover from having to be replaced.

Good quality and good package to keep everything together.

Worked very well for an upholstery project that needed snaps. I didn’t have any problems. This was a good value for the price. The step by step instructions were helpful. I liked the way the tension on the pliers could be adjusted, so I could start off with less pressure and then adjust it to a higher pressure. The included pick tool cleans out the die that punches holes. The other tool opens up snaps. Everything is nicely organized in the plastic box and carrying case. It was a nice touch that an extra set of dies is included in case you lose one.

Build to last a lifetime!! I sewed baby bibs and needed to add snaps. The Dritz heavy duty fastener I have was no match for the 3 layers of fabric (2 layers of cotton, one layer of terry cloth and 1 cotton appliqué.) so I ordered this snap fastener kit to go through all layers of thick fabric. And wow! It went through all the layers like it was soft butter! It comes with everything you need: magnetic pliers, 30 (15mm or 5/8) snap button sets, 30 screw snap button sets, 2 sets of dies, 2 punch die, storage box, cleaning tool, tweezers, and portable bag!!

The tool itself seems ok. The quality of the snaps is not that great.
