I've seen reviews mentioning the weight of the headlamp, but this unit weighs more or less the same as a nitecore or Fenix. For a unit that is machined aluminum and carries an 18650 battery, the weight comes with the territory. If you're main goal is a very light weight headlamp for long hikes, consider a light weight plastic unit with a smaller battery, like the black diamond. Just understand that while you get a lighter unit, you won't get the illumination - that's the compromise for light weight. I bought this one, because I wanted a full red lamp for walking to my tree stand, and I wanted the additional throw just in case I wanted to do a quick search for a deer. In addition, I like it for e-biking and for landing my boat in the dark. If I want something very light for any reason, I'll just buy a cheapo that I can also use as a spare. I like the single headband better than the 3-part band. I've used both, and I find the 3-band hard to adjust, especially when I'm not wearing a hat. This unit has an elegant design. The buttons are easy to access by feel alone, there is a "battery full" indicator when charging, it's a Type C charger (big plus for me), and the red lamp only option is brighter than most that I have seen. The light is comparable to Fenix or nitecore in that there are multiple modes of brightness, and they're all close enough in illumination as not to get into a nitpicking contest. All in all, a very nice unit, and better than my nitecore.

Excellent headlamp. My new favorite! Relatively lightweight and very bright. Battery life so far has been more than adequate.

I love the light but I have to return the one I have I’m going to give it another go maybe it was just the lemon and the one I got but after about a week of using it, I put a battery in an you’d have to twist the knob and fumble with it, back-and-forth to make it come on

So I have been using this headlamp for a few days now and I really like it. It is of extreme good quality. I have a few nice LED flashlights, but this is my first headlamp and I can't imagine a better one. Had I not been given it to review I would have been hard pressed to spend that much money on a headlamp; at the time of this review it was $75.95, but I can certainly see why it costs that much. The build quality is solid, with the main body and top button are made of well finished metal. The main ON button (on the end) is easy to find and covered in a comfortable rubber with an embedded LED to indicate charging state. This dual use for that switch is a good example of the excellent engineering that went into building it. The end cap for the battery appears to be plastic, but of good quality (perhaps considering the cost it should be metal). They include an extra O-ring for the battery cap which is a nice addition. Hopefully I will not have lost it by the time I need to replace it. The lithium battery of high capacity is what attracted me to this headlamp. It is a rather large one, and the headlamp is barely larger than the cell. At full power the light illuminates the woods behind my house as you would expect a car headlight on bright would. It can certainly be set lower to conserve battery and generate less heat, and even at the lower settings it illuminate what you are looking at well. I found the headband to be comfortable for extended use even without the extra pad which was included. I plan to use this light for working in my crawl space and know it will really help. Additionally it will be great on evening walks, and I suspect work well attached to a bicycle helmet. Using it just puts a smile on my face. :)

I was impressed with my handheld CyanSky flashlight, so I figured a headlamp would be a good choice to try as well. I normally favor lightweight, smaller headlamps but the HS6R is so robust, well made and bright that this is now my go-to if I need a bright, heavy duty hands free lighting option! The build quality is excellent and I'd easily put it in the same league as Fenix or Olight. Everything is flawless. For a headlamp this is basically everything you need in one package - type C charging, included high capacity 18650 cell, comfortable, grippy and stretchy headband, numerous lighting modes, high lumens and a long run time! You get two dedicated buttons to cycle between the main, spot style beam and also the red light modes and floodlight beams. Very intuitive and plenty of options to illuminate the night! The only drawback I encountered is the headlamp is extremely tight on the band, so adjusting it upwards or downwards is kind of gritty. I'm sure it will loosen up over time and tilt more freely but adjusting it in this manner is a bit difficult. The price is a bit high, but this is an absolute top notch lamp that's the real deal and not one of those flimsy $20 lights you see listed that claim to have one million lumens! Absolutely recommended if you need quality and brightness 👍
