I purchased four of the essential skills card activities and use them regularly with my students. There is also an online tutorial and course you can take to expand your knowledge and skill set in order to teach the skills to your students/clients. Overall, my students enjoy the various card activities.

Good questions

I am so excited to use these with my students. We work on social skills all the time and these cards have great scenarios and probing questions to ask and discuss. I might even pull out some to use with my own children.

Looking at the product picture made me believe that this is a card game, it was even designed as a deck of playing cards. Well, it’s not. This is just a set of random social scenarios without answers, without rules, and without any meaning behind the markings such as queen of spades. For example, scenario at the queen of spades is not easier than scenario of Ace of spades. I was hoping to play these scenarios with my son and his bestie, as they are easily engaged by a game, especially if there is competition. Instead, after reading the scenarios and being asked how they would react, they just mumbled “I don’t know”, and there was zero motivation for them to elaborate further. Very confusing product, and I am returning it.

The topics and scenarios are great but there's no answer/suggestions on the back. Suggestions would be helpful.

I LOVE these for my 5 year old. She loves to role play the scenarios on these cards, and it helps provide some real life tips for if/when she does run into a similar situation. I will be buying more!

I love the conversations this deck has sparked in our home. It has facilitated conversations that I would have never thought to have with my 7 year old son. I really enjoy seeing how my son would cope with situations that he may face. I feel more confident in his success at school because of this deck now that he had time to think is scenarios and contemplate how he would manage them. The bonus online library is an amazing addition that really gives helpful suggestions.

I’m a busy working mom and using these cards have helped me connect with my kiddos. This deck includes lots of useful modern-day school situations that my kids face. I want my kids to be able to make good choices and handle peer pressure. I really appreciate that the cards come with an online library that provides answers for literally each of the cards, plus grade-level assessments.
