New ink is good ink This is conventional oil based ball point pen ink. It would appear that ink can grow old and in this case the new ink worked better than the original. The pen requires less pressure to get the ink down. This fit my Parker Jotter pen just fine. The new ink seems to go down to paper easier than old ink. Ink pens are nice because they are more conventional/widespread than fountain pens and the ink, being oil based, is not prone to the affects of water. A cheap/free plastic pen may work well too. May be hard to justify a replacement cartridge but a quality pen may be less prone to leakage/skipping etc if that's important to you.

I looked at a bunch of Parker replacement refills, read a bunch of reviews, and in the end I bought this single refill rather than the multi-packs available at a fraction of the cost. The cartridge in the pen I'm using was a knockoff item that mostly worked, but would always seem to fail in the middle of something. I'd have to stop and futz around trying to get it to start laying down ink again. I'm not a heavy user, a cartridge will probably last me a year or more. So weighing the lower cost for a multi year supply against the frustration of poor performance seen by many of the reviewers of lower cost options, I chose to go with the fully authentic single item refill. So far in the two weeks since I put it in, this item has performed flawlessly every time I've spun out the tip and started writing.

Very nice. I was surprised that it fit the pen my grandmother used much of her life. She passed 23 years ago. I changed to fine point and like it better than the medium point that was in it.

Parker pens have always been very good.

I bought this refill for a 1968 Jotter. It arrived quickly, fit perfectly and writes wonderfully. My wife, who has no interest in pens said “wow this writes so nice, thanks for the pen.” Don’t buy this refill on fear of losing your pen.

This refill cartridge fits many different kinds of pens. It writes excellently.

Item pictured is not item received. I've ordered this before and received the correct product. This time I received a substitute. The item pictured is made in the UK. The item I received this time is made in India. I purposely chose the item made in the UK because the one made in India leaks. I am not happy. I paid a lot of money for a substitute that I did NOT want.

I have been an avid user of Parker pen and this fine refill is a perfect fit for my jotter pen.

Scratchy pen refills; can't be used. This isn't the first time this has happened. They've gone straight into the bin. Beware of buying these refills.

Everything is, and was, great. However, the refills themselves don't seem to last terribly long ... that is, I don't seem to write a lot of pages before the refill dries out. But I knew that before I made this purchase ... I have used Parker refills for many, many years, and keep coming back. I just wish that each refill would last a bit longer, as they are somewhat expensive. But it was easy to make the purchase, the delivery was super quick, and the ink quality is great.

It's the real thing and does what it's supposed to do.
