Initially I could not get this device to work. I almost reurned it. I have a Samsung Galaxy 8 Plus. To make this work on my TLC 4K TV, I had to do the following. 1. This device requires a Type-C power source. You will notice an empty Type-C slot at the top (the opposite end where the HDMI cord inserts). Mine will not work unless a Type-C charger (the same you use for your phone) is attached and supplying power. 2. A high quality HDMI cable. For my new 4K TV, an old HDMI cable I had wouldn't work. I had to order a 4K cable. ASIN: B01KJ0M26A 3. I had to plug the Type-C charging cable into the adapter first. Then plug the HDMI cable into the TV, then plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the adapter. Then plug the adapter into the Type-C port on my phone. I could not get this adapter to work until I plugged eveything up exactly as described. 4. The adapter gets hot. So, when you're not watching TV, unplug the adapter from the phone first, then unplug the Type-C charger from the adapter. When you want to watch TV again, plug the Type-C charging cable into the adapter first then plug the adapter back into the phone. * The adapter must be attached to a power source and the HDMI cable must be attached to both the TV and adapter before the TV will recognize the phone as a signal source (at least for my setup). The sync between phone and TV is perfect for both pic snd audio. The pic is awesome and reflects the source. For Netflix streaming downloads, it works great. It also works great for mirroring whatever is on my phone screen. This device will SLOW charge my phone while watching Netflix downloads. I mean super slow. In 2 hours, I went from 35% to 48%. If you have a magnetic induction charger, you can bypass the adapter charging by simply placing the phone on the induction charger and it will charge faster. You cannot watch Netflix (or whatever) and surf the web at the same time unless you have dual screen capability. Your TV will reflect whatever is on the face of your phone. If your phone has dual screen capability, like my SG8 Plus, you can see both screens at the same time. I have a difficult time getting this to work but it will work.

got these for my 2 sons to hook their Samsung Galaxy S8+'s to my dvd theater system in my 2016 Dodge Durango Citadel. both worked well. power pass through is a bonus as running your phone to the car screens will eat power quick. took a bit to figure out how to use it with screen controls - and it intermittently will cut out on occasion - but - overall - works great!

It works good, but it don't charge my Samsung Galaxy S9 but it does keep it from draining, it will stay the same percentage that it did when I first plugged it in without losing any battery percentage. The other one I bought before the this one did not plug in the power and would drain the battery real quick to power the conversion from USB-C to HDMI.

Originally purchased this item about 6 or 8 months ago and it works well. A glitch now and then but I've been very satisfied with it. So I ordered another and have received a charging block. I returned because it was not what I ordered and a replacement arrived within a few days.....another charging block. Returning for refund this time. If you order this, and actually recieve the correct item, you'll be satisfied.

Easy connect right out of package. Good solid HDMI connector with charge support USB-3.This TECHDOTY is perfect for my newly purchased Note 9, what l like especially is the charge feature while I'm watching a movie, etc.. l compared prices and features with other brands but, this one, yea, I am very very satisfied with this product. I can plug my phone to the tv and watch cnn, youtube, netflix and any other video service right out of the phone. Make sure the adapter is connected to a source of power (a.c., battery, etc), else it wont work. All apps work fine with android. Apple and iPhones may need additional software. I noticed my friend could watch youtube but not Netflix with his iPhone.

I got this for my Galaxy S8 phone. It works most of the time, but every once in a while it will not rotate on the TV when I rotate my phone, or it will mirror the phone but not audio. The cable does not work with my Galaxy tablet, though. You get what you pay for, and this does the job for what I paid (most of the time).

I like the power pass thru. Was able to use DEX on my Note 9 or just use as a HDMI passthru of the screen. Nice and compact. Works as described.

Gets the job done. The adapter doesn't affect the quality of the hdmi and is very crisp on my monitor. The casing is metal and very solid. I really like how thick the cable is compared to other converters I have broken. This one feels thick and doesn't seem like it will break anytime. Great purchase for the price.

This works very well with my old LG G5 phone, the very top of the phone display whether it was vertical or horizontal had parts of the top cut off, I found a setting on my television called Overscan,, I disabled it and it now displays perfectly, This is a good buy for the price,

It's good when it works, although I had to enable usb debugging in developer mode because it kept cutting out. Still cuts out sometimes. I regret not buying a cable with a usb port because with the pie update dex mode is possible with most adapters now.

The product ordered as per the image was the product that plugs directly into the HDMI, but the product shipped required a cable. As it was pandemic time, I could not return the product and settled by procuring a cable instead.

Unable to test due to Linux not supporting it out of the box (kernel 4.18.0-16-generic) but it appears to be a great quality piece of hardware. Shipped promptly.
