I’m so glad I bought this! I almost didn’t because the price of this, combined with the cost of the rubber thing for the bottom, was the same price as just getting a glass pitcher that came with one of these already on there; but I was apprehensive about the weight of the glass pitcher as some had reported the larger glass pitcher was really heavy when full… so anyway, I decided to go with the plastic pitcher with the protective bumper ring thing at the bottom to prevent it from cracking if sat down too hard, as some have said it can… and it did not disappoint! It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, looks fabulous, that is a fun conversation starter. I’ve had so many compliments on this picture and request for the link, it’s bananas. 💯 So let’s get into it: - COLOR: true navy blue; deep, rich, looks expensive - QUALITY: sturdy, beautiful, stable, seems like it’ll last quite a while if well taken care of - STABILITY: does not tip over as some reviews have reported; I’ve had no issues with it, whether it’s full or has a low tank… but because it is so lightweight, I could see how you might accidentally knock it off of the counter if it were completely empty, but putting the little bumper thing on the bottom, completely solved that for us. - ASSEMBLY: simple, it could not have been easier to assemble, the instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the whole process took about two minutes to open the packages and figure it all out. - CAPACITY, FILTRATION TIMING & TASTE: Full pitcher = fill center cylinder 3 times Cylinder capacity = approx 1 liter Filter time, 1 cylinder = est 10 min, max Taste = has that flat spring water taste most people prefer. I’m actually partial to the crisp taste of my more acidic RO water, but the cost of filter replacements for a similar RO version of this pitcher were going to be in the neighborhood of about $28 per 15-20 gallons 😳 so I decided to give this pitcher a try first, and I’m glad I did! The water taste, fresh and clean, and despite the absence of that ‘bottled water taste”, I thoroughly enjoyed the water this picture makes; and I’ve had several friends already, but they like the taste of this water better than my previous water machine with the big jugs that we would use RO water in. So, after following the instructions of setting it up, filtering out the first discard batches of H2O (1st one filtered very quickly, approx 9 minutes), etc… I then filled it to make the actual water we would drink, this is where things slowed down tremendously for a time… it took about 15 minutes to filter the 1st full cylinder through, then round 2 took approx 26 minutes & round 3 about 45 minutes. BUT - after the first picture, each one was faster and faster to filter. After a few complete pitcher fills (3 cylinder fills each), it became consistently fast, taking approx 10 minutes to filter each cylinder fill, at most. I ordered two 1/2 gal glass mason jar pitchers, and we keep one in the fridge, and one for extra water when we expect to have guests, etc. This has worked out fabulously, we haven’t run out of water yet, and I don’t feel like I’m tied to the faucet, refilling it all the time. I drink a ton of water, roughly 1.5 gallons a day, so if it can keep up with us, it can keep up with anyone. We initially kept it by the sink for easy refilling, but it’s meant to be displayed, so now I have it on the bar, and since it holds 1 liter per cylinder fill, I just pour a 1 liter cup of tap water into it whenever I go to make coffee, get water, etc, so I never run out. It sounded like an unappealing amount of effort when I was considering purging us, but the reality of it is actually much better, which never happens! Could not be happier! If you’re on the fence, go for it.

Love this filter. I wish I got the smaller version. It is really tall and my fridge is small. I will say they need better instructions on how to set up filter. Taste is good and filters fast. I would get the smaller version if you are buying this. Especially for two people.

This is not a glass pitcher they keep posting this as it's a glass one and it's not! It's plastic and even though it's supposed to be the good plastic the water tastes horrendous it tastes like you're sipping water out of a charcoal filter. I have a glass one and the water tastes pristine. I bought another one to keep it work and this thing came and it first I was like well okay that's fine and then I drank some of the water out of it oh my God and then I thought well maybe just need some time to filter through better no the water is horrible tasting. I can't find the glass one even on their website online it says it's glass but it looks like the plastic one that they sent me I'm highly frustrated

I am very satisfied with this water filter and pitcher. I expected it to filter slowly, and I wouldn't want a fast filter. The smaller the particle that is being filtered the slower the drip. My backbacking filter is much slower, but it will filter brackish water, so with this filter being able to filter bacteria, micro plastics, etc. I am satisfied with the drip speed. I will purchase another if needed and would recommend it anyone. Added later. Still very pleased with this product. I read so many people had stress fractures at the bottom of the pitcher that I purchased the sleeve bottom on amazon that fits this pitcher. I can clearly see that the bottom would crack over time as a person sets the pitcher down. So I'm trying the sleeve and I set it on a silcone trivet. I Will update again later on the fix. I would still purchase this again, but I think I would spend the extra money and get the glass pitcher. It has about a year since i purchased this filter. It is still working great. I change the filters as needed, and wash and bleach the pitcher every couple of weeks. But, I have done this with every water filter pitcher i get. I cannot see me replacing this one for years. The silicone sleeve has kept it from cracking. It is just a great filter. I purchased a smaller glass one for a friend as a gift. They love it. Thank You Carter Center for developing this filter system. It has saved lives across the world, and is working hard at our home also. Will again state a would buy this again and recommend this water filtration system to everyone.

I love this water filter compared to others that I have had in the past. Water tastes fresh and clean. Does take a little while to fill but it’s worth it for clean water in my opinion. The lid of mine drips a little when i’m pouring water though. Other than that, I like it and was definitely worth the money!

I thought I would recommend this product before I got stuck with Amazon’s “No man’s land” whilst needing to replace the nproduct which I bought a three year warranty for and was so graciously informed my warranty wouldn’t pay for a faulty lid when I specifically paid extra to ensure that my daughter had protection.

The filter itself did a great job. We have some really hard, deep, fragrant well water, and I can't drink from our tap. It's hard enough to wash hands with the sulfur smell. Even though it took FOREVER to filter water through this, as long as I kept up with it and put water in every time we used some, it was worth it. Warning - the 10 cup is heavy and tall. If you have a short fridge or sink or you have trouble with your wrists, don't get the big one. After a couple of months of using it, we noticed water everywhere underneath it. We picked it up, and there were fractures in the plastic all around where the bottom meets the pitcher. It is unusable at this point. It's clear that this plastic is not strong enough for the amount of weight that this pitcher has when filled with water. I have contacted the company and will update my review about how they respond. Customer service matters just as much as the product, IMHO. UPDATE: LifeStraw replaced my pitcher without questions asked. They couldn't guarantee it wouldn't happen again, but they allowed me to replace it with the smaller version (per my request, as the 10-cup was too big and heavy) and included the silicone base. So far, so good. We shall see how long it lasts. Thank you for the prompt and courteous service, LifeStraw.

Returning this! I wish I had thought to take some pics before I packed it back up but I just want it outta here! The idea is great, the design not so much. Took forever to trickle through the filter. Next to impossible for arthritic hands to open and to clean/insert the filters. Replacing the filters would be more hassle than it’s worth and If I had kept this it would have ended up on a shelf in some donation center. I use convenient filter refillable bottles and line filters, I was thinking to also have a portable pitcher would be convenient but this is very disappointing. The design is tall and inconvenient (the filter chamber takes up a lot more space than others I’ve used) the pitcher is too tall for the tallest area of my fridge. I was thinking the photos of the design looked nice and maybe I wouldn’t mind having it on the counter but I am not loving that. I chose the color Wisteria because as an artist color is important to me and I am very familiar with the shade (and the flowers). This is gray. Not a soft purple color at all. This is a waste of money, even on sale. I will stick with the big name one that has proven to me to be effective.

J’ai commandé cette 2e carafe pour le travail. Si je l’aime beaucoup, je dois vous prévenir que les premières filtrations n’auront pas bon goût au début, le temps que le système se mette en place, et qu’il faut persévérer. Bien suivre le mode d’emploi. On doit faire des dilutions à jeter avec chaque filtre séparément, ce que je n’avais pas compris au début. Si j’ai été surprise qu’elle soit en plastique la première fois, cela me convient tout-à-fait, car je ne m’en sers pas pour stocker l’eau, mais uniquement pour filtrer l’eau du robinet, et des modèles en verre sont aussi en vente. Une fois l’eau filtrée, je la verse (petit à petit) dans ma gourde au travail. Au début, il a fallu prendre le pli, et le goût des premiers essais n’était pas encore optimal, le temps que la filtration se mette en place. Ensuite, après quelques jours, le goût s’améliore de façon significative au point que je l’adore! Au bout d’un moment, l’eau ne goûte plus rien. Merci au fabricant! Ce système m’a réconciliée avec l’eau du robinet! J’ai pourtant utilisé plusieurs systèmes différents avant les Lifestraw home, en vain. Maintenant, j’ai trouvé ma filtration idéale, sans arrière-goût de charbon (passé quelques jours). Cependant, je dois recommander aux buveurs de thé vert d’utiliser de l’eau de source à la place, pour les thés délicats, mais c’est la seule exception. Mon avis sur la contenance de la carafe : La carafe 7 tasses est suffisante pour 2 personnes, donc pour une personne. Si vous êtes une famille de 3 personnes, je recommande une carafe à 10 tasses. Pour 4 personnes, 2 carafes de 7 tasses, ou un distributeur. Pour les familles plus grandes, prévoir un distributeur. Mais c’est selon vos les besoins de chacun bien évidemment. Personnellement, ce format de 7 tasses me convient parfaitement. Il est déjà haut (mais rentre parfaitement dans la porte du frigo ou sur une tablette), mais il pèse un peu lourd une fois rempli, alors j’imagine que le format 10 tasses, pratique pour les familles plus grandes, est plus haut et plus lourd lorsque rempli. À savoir si vous avez à la maison de jeunes enfants, ou une personne qui souffre des bras. Concernant la vitesse de filtration, ce n’est pas aussi instantané que l’eau qui sort du robinet, certes, car l’eau coule tranquillement par un filet, mais de façon quand même assez efficace : je travaille, et à la pause, et hop, c’est le moment de remettre de l’eau dans le filtre. Il faut s’y prendre en plusieurs fois, une routine à adopter. Ça se passe bien. Enfin, vous les cherchez, le filtre à charbon et à ions calcium-magnésium est fixé sur le dessus, dans un plastique, lorsque l’on ouvre le carton, et le gros filtre principal se trouve déjà dans la carafe. En outre, j’ai photographié pour vous le mode d’emploi multilingue. Bonne dégustation!

The bottom of the pitcher started leaking at the seams after 4 months. Water tastes great, just wish the container was built better :/

Si j’ai été surprise qu’elle soit en plastique (au déballage du colis, elle ressemblait à du verre), cela me convient tout-à-fait, car je ne m’en sers pas pour stocker l’eau, mais uniquement pour filtrer l’eau du robinet. Une fois l’eau filtrée, je la verse (petit à petit) dans une cruche en verre (que je garde au frais) et dans un distributeur en verre posé sur le comptoir. Au début, il a fallu prendre le pli, et le goût des premiers essais n’était pas encore optimal, le temps que la filtration se mette en place. Ensuite, après quelques jours, le goût s’est amélioré de façon significative. Aujourd’hui, c’est parfait. L’eau ne goûte plus rien. Merci au fabricant!
