DJI Avata, First-Person View Drone with 4K Stabilized Video, Super-Wide 155° FOV, Built-in Propeller Guard, HD Low-Latency Transmission, Black, FAA Remote ID Compliant

Have been flying DJI drones for a number of years doing videography for rowing regattas and while traveling. Since my current goto, the Mavic 3, works with the Goggles Integra, I bought the goggles and remote to get a more immersive experience with the Mavic. It really works great but I never liked the idea of running it between tight spaces as the drone is relatively big for that. The Avata filled that void. Using the same goggles, I can fly low and close with the Avata and then switch to soaring overhead shots on the Mavic. The image quality is very different on the two but it is not so dramatic that they look odd next to each other in a video.

Apparently somebody decided to buy a new one and return the old on in its box and get their money back. The Avata I received wasn't wrapped, the safety seal was broken and it showed signs of being flown into things and the entire thing was dusty like it had been sitting on a shelf. All of the packaging on the charger and replacement props were ripped open and the USB cord was missing entirely. Not sure how this got through the return department and sent back out as a new item. When I went to send it back for a replacement the only option it gave me was a full refund. I talked to a customer service representative through the chat and they told me they'd sent out my replacement and sent me the return shipping label to my e-mail. After waiting an hour and still not receiving the e-mail or seeing the replacement order in my orders I contacted support again to discover the first agent never actually put in for my replacement. Luckily the second agent was much more helpful. They had to get it approved by their supervisor but was able to process my replacement and I received a new wrapped Avata the next day. The drone itself is awesome. I bought some bumper guards to go over the plastic and an aluminum gimbal protector to go on the front. I've been flying it around the house zipping around corners. Already hit a few things and crashed a few times but the drone hasn't taken any damage with the add-ons I put on it. Great indoor drone. Much more fun to fly indoors than my DJI FPV. You can be more bold with it knowing that the propellers won't end up hitting the walls and send the drone crashing. If you bump something hard enough it will still probably crash though. This will my go-to drone for indoor filming and filming in wooded areas with lots of trees.

This drone didn't work properly and to top it off I'm still waiting for my refund. I still haven't been able to receive it I don't recommend this seller. I have to wait 14 days to get my refund despite the product being received. The customer service is very bad very bad.

It's best if you adjust your settings, you can change your speed, your height limit, etc. Great picture!!

This is a really good drone until you crash. Dji has terrible customer service. One of the motors on my avata went flying by itself causing disaster. Dji responds but makes it so difficult to communicate with them that I gave up. Everyday they needed an extra file from goggles, sd card or resend it because they did received it or Wrong number or letter or firmware. The next day, "we haven't heard from you we'll close the case" I have a $650 purchase laying around. Amazon didn't help either. Can't trust amazon or dji anymore.

There’s always something wrong when you most need it to work. Firmware out of date, remote ID error, IMU calibration error, remote needs to repair, etc. Do not buy if you need it for anything serious, this is a toy at best. I’ve had countless situations where the horrible software in this thing causes me to miss a cool shot that can’t wait around 20 minutes for me to debug it. If you need a cinewhoop drone for your shots, build or own or at the very least be prepared to be very frustrated with this.

As entry into the stunning world of FPV this little drone has what it takes. Love the avata and looking forward to enjoying it a great deal this summer :) It is so easy to fly right out of the box for a complete new entry to flying with goggles 2 and motion controller 2 that I was hooked instantly. The sensation of flying is uncanny and can even make my knees go on me! Truly a fun experience. The footage is fantastic in 4k. Really crisp. Camera stills arent fantastic but i come from fuji cameras and lenses so i am spoiled with quality. To be fair they will be good for most situations. This drone is well over 249 grams so be sure to write your basic RPAS test and get certified to enjoy this lovely drone hassle free. Register the drone as well. Total cost to do this about 1 hour of time and $15. Beats the 1k fine you can get for not doing it. Lets keep the drone hobby fun in Canada by flying safe and respectfully!

J ai acheté ce drone pour le fait qu' il vole comme un FPV sans les inconvénients des vrais drones FPV c est du plug and play Je suis nouveau dans les drones l AVATA est user friendly au possible tout est facile la configuration la prise en main la conduite Si vous voulez voler pour vous amuser c est ce qu'il vous faut pour les voyages pour vous amuser habituer vous a lui progressivement en limite votre vitesse au minimum puis augmentez au fur et a mesure que vous êtes confiant par contre il y a de la puissance en masse en réserve on parle de presque 100 km/heure donc prudence pour les setting video le mode automatique fait le travail en masse la camera est incroyable pour la plupart des gens vous serez surpris youtube est votre ami il y a des conseils et des réponses en masse pour vos questions Le vol avec le RC motion controller2 est tout simplement genial pour la conduite pour ma part je ne vole pas avec la manette vous n aurez pas a vous entrainer sur simulateur Pour moi sans voler a fond les batteries durent environ 17 minutes chacune c est du DJI c est fiable et surtout sécuritaire pour débutant c est du plaisir sans problèmes de configuration compliquée Si vous volez en mode extreme c est sur vous aurez la sensation FPV un peu moins rapide qu' un vrai FPV drone mais vous ne vous ennuierez jamais Pour le Canada la France et USA pensez a l ' enregistrer et passer le petit test relativement facile pour chaque pays Ayez un max de fun si vous achetez et fly safe

The drone is meant to be brand new unbinded I have called Dji and Amazon with no luck. Drone was binded in 2022 so not sure if I was sold a new or refurbished drone but very annoying. I now have to return the drone. Very upsetting. Was hoping to use it on Christmas

Extremely happy with this drone and have been using it whenever the weather allowed it. The quality is good and it endured a handful of crashes so has me impressed. Extremely easy to use and get hang of and plenty of tutorials to watch. Functional and good value. Will definitely be using this drone for plenty of more flights

You need a spotter with you. The sd card is almost impossible to remove without taking off a prop. It is over the 250 g weight. It is noisy. It has no obstacle avoidence. BUT A HELL OF A LOT OF FUN.
