I purchased this product one I decided to begin making tufting rugs. This is a must have. Once you get a hang of it, makes your work look a lot cleaner. Great buy

The media could not be loaded.  I’m new to rug tufting but everyone who creates custom rugs says you need a good pair of carpet trimmers for shaping and carving. These trimmers come with an acrylic plate that attaches to the trimmers so that you get an even level cut on the carpet pile more easily. The case also included a set of clip-on height adjusters, a replacement blade, and a mini brush to remove fuzz from the tool.I recently completed my first two rugs and I used this trimming tool on both rugs; with the plate attached for evening out the pile height, and without the plate for some carving detail on the rug.Here are my thoughts on the trimmer:PROS:(1) A nice long cord so you can easily move around your rug without needing an extension cord.(2) The trimmer is not too noisy and the shape of the trimmer fits comfortably in your hand when doing detail carving.(3) It does a good job at trimming down the carpet cut pile. My carpets are made from acrylic yarn, so I can only tell you how it does with acrylic. I haven’t used these tools with wool yarn yet.(4) The acrylic plate is great! I loved this attachment. Once I figured out HOW to align the trimmer in the plate it made the job of smoothing out the rug height level a breeze. I had quite a few over-tufted areas that were bumpy, and this trimmer and plate smoothed out the bumps beautifully.(5) As a carving tool it allows you to make fine cuts into your designs without damaging the tufting cloth underneath. It takes some practice to get the hang of carving using this trimmer, but they worked well.(6) Speed is adjustable but I left mine on the lowest level most of the time since I’m still getting used to the tool.CONS:(1) Trimming fur makes a lot of fuzz and even though the trimmer comes with a mini brush to remove the fuzz from the device, it took a lot of picking at the brush to remove the fuzz from it after getting the fuzz off the trimmers.(2) There were no directions included in the box for attaching the acrylic plate or how it should be positioned. I had to watch some YouTube videos to see if I was supposed to use the height clips on the trimmers, or just use the trimmers without them (everyone seems to trim without any height clip-on), and how to align the bottom of the trimmers (I made them even with the to the bottom edge of the acrylic plate).This trimmer and acrylic plate set are easy to use once you figure out how they work together. I’m thankful for YouTube videos to get the info that the seller doesn’t provide.If you are getting into rug tufting I think you’ll be pleased with this trimmer and acrylic leveling plate set. They work very well together to help create a more professional looking, finished rug.

I'm in my 60's; My beard is thicker now, so for about 10 years, I've been trimming, and even shaving with a regular set of hair clippers. I'm blue-collar, so nobody cries about the slight shadow, lol! The boss only cares about you being worth the money they're paying. My cordless crapped-out, so I thought I'd try this, and get another tool, I might use from time to time.... It runs about a minute, to 1-1/2; when the white portion of the blade starts getting deformed, and then it starts tugging at my beard. I let it cool down for a few minutes, and then it's fine again, so i can't be made of ceramic. I even applied PROLONG to the metal side to protect the blades from wear, to no avail! My old trimmers lasted so long, they out-lived the battery, but I'd have to break them, to get inside to replace it. My guess is; The carpet you are cropping won't be able to tell you that these trimmers are tugging the fibers on the custom inlaid pattern you are shaping for your customers. And it explains the second set of blades that come with it; You're going to need them....

This tufter cuts very cleanly and doesn’t get jammed. I like that it has a large grip which helps with control and decreases hand fatigue. There’s also a stand you can use to keep it at a level height which is perfect for beginners.There are 6 different speeds and different sized heads so you can adjust these based on your project. I didn’t notice a huge difference between each speed setting, but I could definitely tell when it was low or high. I got the mahogany coloring and think it looks nice, but definitely not like wood. Also this tufter doesn’t come with any lubricants so you’ll have to buy those separately to maintain it.

These carpet tufting tremors are better than I had expected. When I first saw them they looked more simple and cheap but as I use them more they really do a good job and I have no complaints.

This is a very nice trimmer for your tufted rugs. You don’t need anything more. It’s simple to adjust height, the trimmer is sharp, and it’s easy to grip so your hand doesn’t get tired. Also, it comes in a nice case to keep everything together.If you tuft as a hobby, this is a good choice for a trimmer.
