Allereerst: het is een prachtig uitgevoerd boekje. Mooie hardcover, goed papier and prachtige lay-out. Gene boek om van kaft tot kaft in één keer door te lezen. Maar wel een boek om zeer regelmatig op te pakken en een paar bladzijden te lezen. Perfect cadeau ook voor mensen die 'talig' zijn.

All the stars 🌟!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an absolutely gorgeous little gem of a book this is! I haven’t even finished reading it…but I can’t imagine I ever will. This one will stay close to me at all times so I can reach for it again and again and again! For as long as I can remember I have had a deep fascination and love for words and the way they feel in your mouth. Always, I have felt that the words we have at our everyday disposal are mostly inadequate, at least when trying to express something deep and heartfelt…happy or sad… Sometimes words really do fail you. This little gem of a book goes a long way in addressing that dilemma…not that I might often find ways to use them in popular conversation! But what a joy and delight to be able to discover new ways to express a feeling, or a longing…even if only in your mind…or in jest. There are beautiful words in here describing the most detailed scenarios, you will find many of them in dictionaries, but often sans their depth of meaning. Words are, after all, feelings out loud. We really should learn to use them with feeling. I feel certain every writer would love this book, especially romance writers! But also every reader or lover of the written word would enjoy this book. *Highly recommended reading. I hope there is a follow up book showing these words in context. I do applaud the author John Koenig for putting this out there for us. I feel sure there are many such books/dictionaries [in fact I have a few! Lol] but this one found me. Random pages: I love this one, Dès vu …The awareness that this moment will become a memory. (As opposed to déjà vu?) And this, Saudade….A melancholic or profoundly nostalgic longing for a beloved yet absent something or someone. (!!) Or who would ever want to experience the feeling of being ‘foilsick’? Look it up. Or…we’ve probably all experienced ’Kenopsia’ at some stage. Now I’m waffling! Do your reading/writing selves a favour, this is a keeper!
