FINALLY! A CAC reader that works with my Chromebook!
I've had several CAC readers over the years that have given me different levels of reliability with my Windows and Mac laptops; however, this is the first (and only) CAC reader that seems to work with my Chromebook. It was literally plug-and-play with both my Samsung Chromebook V2 and my Samsung Galaxy Chromebook. Working a lot from home now and it's nice to be able to access my restricted (.mil) sites from my Chromebook with no issues. LOVE IT!

TAA compliant as required by DoD
This is replacement for popular model on amazon that is NOT TAA compliant. This one works great. Beware of others. I tried to write negative review of the non-TAA compliant reader (not this one!) but amazon rejected because I provided a link to the approved DoD list of card readers and details of the security concerns.

Quality product worked seamlessly with a govt. issue, TAA compliant MacBook Pro.
My previous reader was much less substantial and cracked. Replaced with this model and have been very happy so far. Sturdy, yet thin/small enough in my keyboard/mouse travel pouch. Worked immediately with no setup, downloads, etc. Very happy with this purchase.

Works like it should
I use this product quite often and it fits my needs. Military people it works with the CAC.

Plug in Play. Windows 11
Revived CAC reader. Plugged into my windows 11 laptop. Able to log into websites requiring CAC. No download, or update or anything. Has been working fine for 2 months.

Poor Durability
Worked well initially, but USB-C connector failed after ~2 months. The reader functioned perfectly out of the box and was much more reliable than my government-issued reader. Unfortunately, after about two months of normal use, the USB-C connector detached from the cable and the device stopped working. This appears to be a physical durability issue with the attached USB-C cable rather than a software or compatibility problem. Disappointing given the price.

Exactly what I needed!
This works exactly as expected and allows me to complete work tasks at home when necessary. The value is great for the cost! Highly recommend.

Works sometimes.
Works sometimes. This was a mess, it would read the CAC once, maybe twice, then it needed to be removed and reinserted. This was a chronic issue for over a month. CAC access can be a little wobbly but this wasn't usable. This is a recommended brand but look for alternatives.
