Utopia Crafts Velvet Lux Chenille Yarn 100g (White)

Great brand at a competitive price. This isn’t as soft as some chenille (eg king Cole) but it’s still really nice to work with, and isn’t super prone to shedding. Like all chenille it’s not the easiest to frog, but I have been able to. A 5mm hook works up lovely amigurumi

I have been trying to find true chenille yarn that is a decent density. This fits the bill. Like true chenille is is a string centre with the chenille (fluff) over it, so yes it will come away at cut ends. Also yes if you pull too hard will snap, I only found this when tightening a magic ring if not careful. I had to undo many stiches and found no clumping of the chenille so was able to reuse yarn, other brands I cannot do the with at all. I used a 5.5mm hook for photo, you can see no gaps. Would happily buy again, in fact waiting for light grey to come into stock again.

this yarn is super soft to the touch and the colours are great, will definitely be buying again but a few issues. I was crocheting and noticed a very long part of yarn with nothing on it, just the white string. Tried to cut it off and then tie the ends but the velvet material kept coming off. Same thing happened when I was sewing pieces together, it comes off the end and I can't work with it. It also snaps very easily. Not major issue, still can work well with the wool, just a little disappointing 😕

I cannot fault this yarn, it’s beautiful! It’s super soft and lives up to its velvet name. Also a very nice thickness and feels durable. I found it very easy to work with, especially when compared to some other chunky chenille yarns I’ve worked with previously. There was minimal fraying. I only saw some small bits come off the very end but that’s to be expected with this type of yarn and it really was the smallest amount. I will absolutely be buying more of this yarn in every colour!

The yarn is lovely I’m making a jumper, but the box arrived very torn and damaged and one of the balls had fallen out, so now I might not have enough wool to finish the jumper, there was a slit in the box big enough for the ball to fall out, I’m lucky I only lost one, I’ve never had a box in such a bad state, looks like it had been jumped up and down on and ripped, but I would give the wool five stars. I crochet jumpers using single stitch and they are super warm. Lots of compliments from others. Utopia crafts are good I’ve had lots from them in different colours. Will order again.

I bought the darker red and off white colour and they are lovely, the pictures are accurate. I'm new to knitting / crocheting and have decided to use this yarn with a loom to try and make christmas stockings. Things started off well and I managed to switch colours, however, now I'm coming up to the heel of my stocking and towards the end of the yarn, it's started to snap (I've had to redo this section 3 times). I've noticed as I get towards the end of the yarn it becomes very delicate. One section felt like it had glue stuck to it or had been sewn together with another piece to reach the length. Probably not the best yarn for a project like this, but I would buy it again to make something else.

This was originally a 5 star review. But once I got to the end of my pumkin, I had to change it. Yes it's an absolutely beautiful yarn, crochets so easily, not too thick and slides on the crochet hook so smoothly. It's also SOOOO soft! I could make a whole blanket out of this stuff. Unfortunately, the problem is it breaks SO EASY, it came to sewing the end of my pumpkin and 🎉 POP, like a little thing of confetti, orange yarn went everywhere and it snapped, and every single time I put a small amount of tension on, POP again. I am super disappointed because the yarn is so lovely, but it is basically yarn on a piece of thread. I had to use a different colour and yarn to sew up my pumpkin. Please see pictures attached for reference. If it was thicker in the middle it would be perfect. Unfortunately it isn't :(

Beautiful Velvet rope, perfect for knitting or crochet, not so much for macrame

Blanc éclatant, doux Laine assez épaisse (crocheté avec du 6mm) Comme c'est une laine chenille, peut être pelucheuse sur les extrémités et lors de la couture. Je n'ai personnellement pas eu de cassures (et j'ai une assez forte tension). J'ai du faire attention lors de la couture, car une partie de ma laine a perdu toutes ses peluches et mon fil s'est retrouvé à nu, mais en faisant attention, tout s'est bien passé.

Verkar vara bättre kvalitet än andra chenille garn jag har provat.
