This was a Christmas gift for our grandson age 9. He loved it as did all the other kids and adults present. I would say it makes a great gift and fairly good value for your money. I had thought it would be a bit larger than it was but it didn’t really matter. It was a hit.

I purchased this as a birthday gift for my son. The whole family was fascinated by it! Definitely works, and I'll be buying more as Christmas gifts this year!

I gifted these to college students because I thought it was a good night light, but neither one of them was excited over them.

Yes it is really just a toy but it looks so cool and the price is equally good! Once you figure out how to spin it (try blowing gently on the rim of the equator, it looks even cooler. You don't HAVE to have this but you will enjoy it on your desk or bookshelf.

Looks really nice but doesn’t last long. I had it for maybe about 6 months and it stopped working.

I bought this as a gift for my grandson who is 11 years old. I cannot specifically rate this until I see his eyes light up.

I admit, I have a small amount of buyers remorse. Not that this doesn't live up to what it's supposed to be or being as advertised. There are no falsehoods about that. But I've since discovered superior models out there IMHO. While this one has a lighting effect, it merely glows, not shines. If you read the instructions, you'll likely not have any problems. Most of my buyers remorse is just from style preference. However I have noticed the other models out there that do rotate, do so in the wrong direction. The globe is actually not as fragile as it looks. I have dropped it a number of times (from about waist height) and still not even a scratch. The magnetic effect hangs the globe from the top, so it won't be compatible with other models that only support their globes from the bottom.
