Great wifi dongle that works great with Kali and Linux!
Excellent Alfa USB that works with Kali and monitor mode. This does work just fine in linux, do not listen to what people are saying in other reviews. I have used this in Ubuntu and ParrotOS as well with no issue and also use this dongle with my Raspyjack. Below is the command to install driver in linux: Sudo apt install -y realtek-rt188xxau-dkms Sudo reboot

Annoying Blue Light
The adapter seems to work perfectly fine, but I do need to mention how annoying the blue LED is on the top of it. It flashes incessantly while in use. Not docking a star from the review, because it's nothing a piece of black tape can't fix, but it is certainly annoying and unnecessary.

Works on old Mac with Fedora and more
I tested it with Fedora 43 (on an old MacBook Pro) and Kali (on an old Sony Vaio), and Kali in Fedora (preinstalled) Boxes. Just plug and play, just work, no download or install anything whatsoever. Monitor enabled.

The Night I Plugged in and Saw the City Differently
I sat in my apartment overlooking the street. Everything looked quiet — normal. But normal is an illusion. I connected the AWUS036ACS and opened my scanning tools. The device woke up instantly, like it had been impatiently waiting for orders. The antenna tuned itself into the chaos around me. Suddenly: the entire block lit up in the terminal like a neural network diagram. Apartments. Offices. Stray IoT junk. Signals bouncing off brick, asphalt, windows, metal. The adapter didn’t just see strong networks — it saw the ones everyone else forgets. Weak signals leaking from behind concrete. Dormant devices broadcasting heartbeat beacons. Access points hiding behind channel overlap like ghosts behind fog. The street outside was silent. My screen was roaring. This adapter doesn’t give you new abilities. It reveals the ones your hardware always lacked. If you want to see how alive the airwaves truly are, plug one of these in at night. It changes your perspective.

Not plug and play for Linux. Has Drivers CD
I bought to use on Linux, but kinda a hurdle it seems as I'm new to the OS. I will keep and just use on a WindowsPC or something. Compact, haven't used though. I hate dealing with returns.

Windows plug and play!
I was concerned at first about the enclosed CD programs and unsigned drivers to be downloaded from .TW The enclosed instructions had Windows 98 era screen shots. Fear not! It worked w/windows 11 out of the box plug and play. No downloads or CD installation needed.

Linux users need to DL/install new realtek drivers. Monitor mode works like a champ!
I am using with Parrot Security which is a linux distro similar to Kali Linux and needed a wifi adapter that would work for monitor mode and packet injection for penetration testing. This card is exactly what I needed in order to access nearby 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz channels while remaining discreet and not looking like a sketch weirdo with the huge wifi card plugged into my laptop. This card is not plug and play for linux but all you have to do is install new realtek drivers and as you can see in my screenshots it works like a charm.. I live in an apartment building with 18 units and the card picked up about 25 SSIDs. You can install the new drivers for debian linux (kali/parrot) with this command or something similar depending on your distro: apt-get install -y realtek-rtl88xxau-dkms Card was plug and play for windows 10. It comes with a CD that contains Mac and Windows PCs as well as a USB extension cable and adapter to get increased cord length (see photo), which would be perfect if you wanted to be able to mount the adapter some where higher up, or to in your vechicle for war driving. Speeds were decent. About 128 mps down / 12 mps up -- (See screen shot) Range is not the best with the stock atenna but for a tiny $16 dollar card it is better than expected. The atenna is also detachable so I will be trying a long range antenna on it as well and that will probably help out quite a bit. To get anything else like this you will likely be paying twice as much on other less reliable brands. I can see why Alfa is the go-to brand for penetration testers, hackers, and network administrators. 8/10 would reccommend for anyone that needs a wifi adapter on a budget, especially someone who wants to do discreet close-mid range pen testing using linux.

Sehr guter WLAN Stick
Dieser WLAN-Stick ist sehr gut. Die Treiberinstallation auf Linux ist etwas schwer, aber ich habe vollen Empfang, und er unterstützt den Monitor-Modus und Paket-Injektion.
