Great base for Tom Yum soup! So many possibilities for Veggie, Seafood, or whatever soups and poaching delicate meats and seafood. In fact that is what i did. Made the base with 750 Ml of water (instead of 500-550 per packet), strained the dried ingredients and transferred it to medium rondeau pan with halibut already searing slowly in olive oil. As soon as that heated up to simmer, added bay scallops and straw mushrooms. Few min of gentle poaching, and VOILA!!! Excellent taste. Quick and easy prep for during the week cooking. Something to keep in the pantry for sure, for those days when i crave Tom Yum taste.

I really liked that the packet had the real dried versions of the spices that are supposed to go into the soup. I even got my hubby to eat and finish a soup with coconut in it. Something he normally would not do. I think you have a convert. I will order these again.

Flavor and smell were awesome. Boiled and simmered following directions but dried vegetables came out inedible like chewy wood and straw. Moved to a crock pot for 18 hours and dried vegetables were still not edible. Broth had good smell and flavor but I had to throw it away. Not sure what I did wrong if anything. Directions are unclear. They did include some free teas that were wonderful. The soup was disappointing.

If you are craving a comforting and delicious bowl of Tom Yum Soup but don't want to leave your house, you need to order the EZ Thai Tom Yum Set. The order includes a packet which weighs 46 grams. Inside you will find 3 packets - one clear packet holding the dried herbs, one mylar envelope holding tom yum paste, and one mylar envelope holding seasoning chili paste. You simply need to boil 300ml of water and add the tom yum paste. Once boiling, you add the chili paste and 200-300 grams of the meat of your choice (I added shrimp), and bring to a boil. Presto, you have tom yum soup! I will note that none of the packages are labeled and the instructions did not note when to add the dried herb packet. I ended up adding the dried herbs at the beginning to ensure the herbs spent the most time in the soup in order to extract all of the flavors. The smaller packet of the two mylar packets needs to be added first and the larger mylar packet added last as it contains coconut milk powder. The finished soup had bright citrus notes from the lemon powder, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, aromatic notes from the galangal, spicy notes from the whole red chili, soft creamy notes from coconut milk, and savory seafood flavor from the shrimp I added. The soup is vibrant and nuanced with a symphony of flavors including spicy, sour, sweet, and savory. It is delicious. The ingredients listed include coconut milk powder, tom yum seasoning powder, chili paste, tom yum paste, lemon powder, salt, sugar, and MSG. The manufacturer noted that the product contains soy, wheat, fish, shrimp, crab, and milk. If you have an allergy to one or all of these foods, please be aware. The product that I received has a best by date of 11 months from the date that I received it. It is a Product of Thailand. I found this to be a delicious single serving of soup that required a little bit of work (preparing the meat or seafood that you use for the soup). I enjoyed it and feel it is worth a repeat order from Amazon.

Great product. Easy to make, authentic flavors, good large single serving or two reasonable servings. That said, it’s too expensive. Would love to purchase more frequently but at the price, it’s a luxury not a pantry staple.
