Highly recommended, plus excellent quality & value for money.
I was looking to buy either the Razer Naga or the Logitech G600, but then I chanced upon this mouse and decided to research it a bit. There are many positive reviews out there, and this being about half the price of the other 2, pretty much sealed the deal. Now I've had it for about a month, I love it, easily the best mouse I've had yet. It's easy to program the profiles (of which there are 5), and they remain in the memory of the mouse even if you use it on another computer (there's a small button underneath to cycle through the profiles), and there's pretty much no limit of what type of commands you can store within them. The DPI rating is way over the top, but it's there if you want to use it, although I keep mine less than 5000dpi overall, starting at 1000dpi and increase by 1000dpi for each of the 5dpi settings. I'm primarily using it in conjunction with my Logitiech G13 for playing World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, a few FPS & also Photoshop & Lightroom. Each of those is much easier to use with this mouse, as in addition to all the above, it also fits in the hand very nicely, with easy access to all of those 18 programmable buttons. Each of my profiles are colour coded, so I know exactly which one I'm using, and saving changes to the mouse happens in about 2 seconds. The braided cable is welcome as it reduces the chances of snagging the desk edges, and I also like the little thumb rest on the left side (which is why I eventually chose this over the Redragon Perdition). Even when you receive this mouse, you're immediately impressed by how well packaged & presented it is, and once you get to use it, it only gets better. So, if you want a really great mouse for just about any use, I highly recommend this one. Yes it's a little more expensive than the average mouse, but it's a whole lot of mouse for the money, and almost half the cost of the established brands, and it even uses the same or better quality components inside. It's a no-brainer really :)

The best MMO mouse out there
So I was looking for a gaming mouse with 12 side buttons and choose this one and am I happy? Yes. Overall the feel and quality are great it's functionality is great it does the job in every way imaginable and the price makes it irresistable. I see people complain about the software to change the mouses settings I honestly don't know what they're talking about it allows you to change colour dpi and mouse buttons and set up macros everything a mouse from razer or corsair does it's even nice to look at and i'm using windows 10 which is the operating system people seem to have the most issues of which I have had 0 bar getting used to every setting for each profile. My only negatives would be the side buttons they're great and work fine but are hard to press normally I don't mind but because you have to press with your ring finger and thumb it's hard to control mouse positioning as i'm used to using my second or third finger with my thumb i'm sure i'll get used to it but the combination of using my ring finger with lack of muscle memory or strength with hard buttons is difficult. The top buttons are the most difficult to press as well. Again to do with the side buttons is the position everyones hands are different and hence different lenghts needed for comfortbale side button pressing mine as just too small but ok. It's why the corsair scimitar might be better and the only other mouse i'd buy but I really like the quick fire button at the side. Overall this mouse is a 8/10 - 9/10 it would be a 10 if it had softer buttons and an adjustable slider for side buttons like the corsair mouse.

Impressive!
Blown away by this mouse! its extremely comfy to use, from the rubber texture down to the ergonomic design, Its therapeutic to use its that nice... at its price point its an incredible buy!, its contenders are close to and over double the price of this! is there a difference in quality? well ive used these high priced contenders and the answer is yes but its marginal and most certainly not 2x better quality!... this is the first item I have purchased from UtechSmart.. and im always a bit wary of buying from new outfits especially budget ones!. but im VERY impressed, the software is fast and does the job, its very simple to use and your up and running in seconds, windows picked the mouse up instantly and used windows drivers with no issue until i installed the utech software... its wonderfully packaged and come with a set of spare feet which i was very pleased to see... the side buttons are grate usual use in the OS also, ive set some of the side buttons to things like copy/paste and show desktop, which is awesome to have at your fingertips, the lower (rear most) buttons are a little harder to get at but you get used to it with time and the nack ive found is to use the tip of your thumb for the front buttons and the joint in your thumb for the rear most buttons... all buttons have a satisfying click to them and you know you have pressed that button, the mouse wheel is nice with a rubber tread running the center of the wheel, it feels substantial and well built, i hear lot of complaints that it doesn't have a left/right clickable wheel but ive never used this feature on any of my other mice that had this feature, i find it cumbersome to use TBH and it irritates me that 2 buttons have been wasted here, so i don't miss this at all, in fact im pleased its not a feature here.. i honestly have nothing bad to say about this mouse, its very.. very nice! if i was to be hyper picky it would be that it has a braided cable which i find heavy and more hassle than there worth IMO, but that's more a industry thing ATM.. braided cables seem to be the in thing for some odd reason but each to there own i guess...... i will and with this... if i was Logitech i would be worried! very worried... because no longer will they be able to sell there overpriced products that are only of average quality.. i will be watching Utech for future products... impressed..... very impressed

Almost perfect
This mouse worked for me for just over a year and then it suddenly refused to work. Contacted the support, went through a short process of identifying the problem and finding a solution. In the end it was processed very well and quickly by Utechsmart. The mouse itself works like you expect just for these 4 points that I didn't like: - The pressure needed for the sidebuttons, it takes a bit too much pressure to properly click them. (This issue needs to be resolved in their next mouse, if they decide to release a successor to this mouse). - The extra button at the top left (placed at the left button) is placed a bit to far for quick access in games. (Not a huge issue) - The middle mouse button can not be clicked to the left and right. (BUT you have 12 extra side buttons at your disposal!) - The middle mouse button doesn't scroll smoohtly like the logitech G500 (This is not huge issue, but it should be noted). Aside from those points, the things I like: - The software, works like expected (settings up the buttons, lights,macro's...etc...) and it is more clear than the software I got with the logitech G500 mouse. And it doesn't install other unneeded items which just fills up systray and memory! - The feel in the hand is very good. It doesn't feel light and cheap (also thanks to those placable mini weights) - braided cable - The top buttons (not side) click perfectly with the exact amount of pressure needed - a whopping 12 extra buttons - The customer service, they react and act adequately (my issue got resolved quickly in a satisfied way). - The price, it is amongst the cheapest (aside the Trust brand) when it comes to these kind of mouses. - These kind of mouses are NOT just for games, I have set up some applications and customizations within windows to use the extra 12 buttons. Believe me, it makes a difference! A note about the pressure needed to press the side button and the extra button at the top left. This is a purely personal taste/preference matter because someone else might find this not an issue (because of every hand is different!). If you do don't mind the 3 negative points I stated then you can regard this as a 5 star mouse. And let me repeat this point: My customer service experience was a very good one. I hope they can release a mouse in the future that addresses the 4 "negative" points then you could put this mouse right up those upper tier mouses without the cost of an arm and leg (and added customer service). Would I advice this mouse to others: YES but heed the 4 points I stated and you'll be fine if you still decide to purchase this mouse!

Underdog
After having a Logitech g600 for years, it finally retired. I had been looking to replace it for a while, but the price of similar mmo style mice were silly so I was waiting for a sale, but then I came upon this gem, at first I was dubious being ridiculously cheaper than branded mice but I was very surprised. Its made very well , good quality feel and the texture feels great, doesn't slip when the heat is on and your palm gets sweaty. All the buttons have a good positive feel when pressed and having the switchable profiles for the dpi makes it great for different scenarios. Everything the mouse has can be changed via the software, rebindable buttons the dpi and the lights. This is a really nice mouse at a great price and I'm glad I took the chance.

Take a look you will be surprised.
Just to start with I have tried to limit my review to those area's not covered by By Zahid on 1 July 2014 as I think he covers alot of the area's in word which I would have used. When my Naga Epic started to double click every time and navigating became horrible to say the least. I decided to purchase a new mouse. Choice, choices, the two main competitors at that moment were Razer and Logitech, specifically Naga and G600. However being limited in the money department I decided to shop around and came across this mouse, the UtechSmart Venus 16400 DPI gaming mouse. After looking at the reviews on the internet, I decided that at half the price of theG600 and Naga, I would give it a shot. The item came promptly and in surprisingly good packaging for the cost (Not sure, why I was surprised). Opened up to find a premium quality mouse, functional in design and personally better feeling than the Naga, which I previously used. The feel of the surfaces are comfortable and switches feel nice to the touch. The side pad has the same angled keys, as the G600, but the Venus not covered by a full cover like the Logitech. The number keys are easily accessible and the thumb rest is a great design thought. I find with larger hands it is comfortable to play for extended sessions and does not look out of place with the rest of my gaming gear. A few little extra’s I would like to comment on, the DPI switch on the fly is really nice and the different colour on the mouse wheel identifying the profile you are on is a plus within the software. The software needs polishing up a bit graphically, but still does what is required and more than enough profiles for you to tweak. Very happy overall competitor to the G600 directly and better than the Naga in functionality and feel but misses the design and completeness of the synapse software. Will be looking at this brand again for another purchase (hopefully not soon for my mouse). PS Make sure you attach the 3M Strips supplied else your settings will be all wrong and you will not have the correct and intended usage out of this mouse.

Great Mouse!
This is my first gaming mouse purchase and one I am very pleased with! Over the past few months I have been casually reviewing and researching various gaming mice for quality and value for money looking at both top brands and those lesser known. I very nearly bought a Razer Naga but at the last moment stumbled accross the UtechSmart Venus which was less than half the cost and from the reviews looked v.positive so decided to give it a go. The mouse arrived this morning (very prompt delivery) and I am not disappointed. The packaging is nice and crisp, the mouse was well protected in the plastic housing and it was very easy to use/ set up (initially just plug and played until I installed the software). The mouse is on the larger side which is perfect for my large hands and its also very comfortable to use having a thumb/ finger ledges for comfort. The build quality also feels great on the hand and isnt glossy plastic like some others. Instead it feels like a light rubber which gives great grip. The button placement on the side work great under the thumb although it will take me some time to get used to the layout (being my first MMO mouse) but isnt a bad thing. The buttons seem reasonably easy to reach on the side and the top buttons no problem at all. Loving the 'double click' button which is already being used a lot for work apps. The DPI settings are also really easy to use and loving having the ability to increase/ reduce DPI although, as other people have said 16400 is a bit excessive but sure someone will find a use for it at some stage. The lights/ breathing add a really nice touch. There are additional weights (think its 20 grams) however, not sure I will use them as the mouse seems ok as it is. Time will tell. Software was really easy to install. I used the CD but it is downloadable from the website. The software itself is really simple and allows good customisation, amending the lights (Choosing from 16million colours) is great and ability to store profiles as you want them. All in all I'm glad I stumbled accross this mouse!

Not bad all round but has a few issues
Overall feels pretty decent for the price, but has a few issues. Almost feels like it tries to achieve too much without nailing all of the basics. Firstly materials all feel pretty decent, not the most premium feel out there but its grippy and gets the job done. The buttons all seem to function properly and are comfortable and easy to access aside from some of the number pad keys some of which require quite a bit of coordination, although, that kind of comes with the territory with this kind of mouse. The scroll wheel however is poorly designed and makes clicky noises as I move the mouse, this is due to it being loose enabling it to move laterally, furthermore the scroll wheel button is quite uncomfortable to click compared to other mice I have tried. The cable feels relatively premium however I have had issues with the cable sometimes being stubborn and curling up on itself which hinders the movement of the mouse and this can be rather irritating especially when you are in the middle of a game or something similar. The ergonomics of the mouse are pretty good, fits my hand fairly well although sometimes after a few hours or so of constant gaming use my hand does get rather achy and uncomfortable and sometimes the thumb rest can get a little awkward however overall for the most part it is a comfortable mouse. The dpi is massively overkill in my opinion, the highest I use is around the 1200 mark anything higher on a 1080p screen movements become rather frantic and quite hard to control hence I recommend to those who see the high number to ignore any notion that this means the mouse is superior in anyway to other mice as for most people such a high dpi option is simply redundant. The software is simple and easy to use no complaints there. The lighting for me is a little distracting and the dpi buttons always being red annoys me a little but the range of colour options and ease of use make this feature quite nice if you want that sort of thing. Overall not a bad mouse at all, sadly with a few little issues here and there, for those looking for a cheap and yet competent mouse this isn't a bad shout but if you are wanting a more premium experience I would recommend looking at higher end mice or choosing one without all the gimmicks that nails all of the basic stuff. Hope this helps :)

Exceeded expectations!
Bought this mouse as I recently got into MMORPGs and it was recommended by a friend. Seemed more value for money as compared to other gaming mice with similar functions. Am very happy with the product as it came in good condition and setup was fairly straightforward. Shape is ergonomical and my hand can rest comfortably on it. The surface was rougher than I expected, but over time I grew to appreciate that it provides my hand with a better grip especially with the humid weather. Setting up of macro keys took a while to figure out but not a big issue. Overall a great product and I'll be hard pressed to find a better product for the price.

Fantastic
Extremely high quality mouse for it's price. I'll be choosing this over most large brands now.

Ottimo!!!!!!!
Verdetto? Compratelo!!!

Very stiff cord
Buyer beware - if you live outside of the US, be prepared to pay twice as much to return (or more). Reason for return - cord is VERY stiff, makes it difficult to use. If you lift your hand off, mouse moves as stiff cable pushes it. Too bad as the mouse itself is nice, but the cord ruins it.
