Tulip One Step 12 Colour Super Big Tie-Dye Kit - Set of 70

I used this with three kids age 8-11 to make tie-dye T-shirts. It contained the powder dyes in bottles, gloves, elastic bands and a small plastic sheet which covered only half my table. The instructions were OK but we watched a few YouTube videos before we started so we knew what we were doing. We did however miss out putting an oven rack underneath the T-shirt as we were adding the dye so I recommend doing that. The kit doesn't come with anything to dye so we bought some plain white shirts. The dyes were easy to mix and there was plenty of dye left over when we had all done. The dye is very vibrant when it goes on and fades a little after first washing. This kit would be great for a party just make sure you cover everything (!) including wearing the gloves provided. And make sure you add enough dye to sink right through the cloth. I would buy it again.

This set was fantastic, with clear instructions and simply fabulous results. My daughter wanted to give 4.5 stars because: 1. You can only use each colour once and therefore you either need to do the tie dye session with a limited number of colours or you need a huge amount of items to use up all the dye; and 2. The gloves ripped very easily and are needed when applying the dye AND rinsing it out. Highly recommended - this was great fun

I bought this at the beginning of the summer holidays to keep my little girl entertained. And boy did it! Had so much fun. Amazing how far these go and how much tie-dying you get out of them. Good selection of colours. We ended up using the Amazon box to keep everything together. We even had a dye tie session at her birthday party and bought school pe bags and pencil cases to tie dye too. Make sure you have some sandwich bags, elastic bands, and ice cubes ready as we ended up you-tubing and it really sparked the creativity in us. My poor partner even has tie-dyed pants! Vests are s really cheap item to do, and they end up looking like proper t-shirts. Great for all the family!

second time of buyng from same American supplier - great value, vibrant colours which my daughter has used on t shirts, bedding, bags - brilliant results. Need to be conscious that the effect relies on the material being used - make sure if its new material that it is washed thoroughly as any residue left on the material before you tie die will affect how much of the dye is absorbed. May need to experiment as we found that the time period you should leave the dye on differs with the material you use depending on whether you want vibrant or pastel colours. takes some time to come because coming from USA but much better value than UK suppliers

The colours are lovely but there is no extra dye in the pack so each colour works out more expensive than the smaller ones, which do have extra dye in them. I was very disappointed with this, I thought as it was a big pack I was getting it all cheaper.

I ordered these for my daughters birthday party and used them to make Harry Potter themed t-shirts with her friends. They are very easy to use, the instructions are comprehensive. The children got quite carried away and they ended up all over their hands and feet and the kitchen floor. The kitchen floor wiped clean very easily and the children cleaned up after a few washes. There is plenty of dye in each bottle and we made 8 t shirts with plenty of dye left for another day. The dye washes well and all the colours are still strong after a few washes. Great product, highly recommended.

This is a great and cheap way of changing looks of clothes, adapt them, etc. Great for the intended purpose of making unique shirts out of white ones, but can be used for more colors than that, most bright base colors work fine. This also works great for doing other stuff like making LARP clothing adapted to what you'd like, for example getting a moldy or bloody look. You need to make sure you have the correct space or have access to good space and so on, like not expecting you to be able to dry it when it rains, etc. And be aware that it will be a bit less vibrant after drying it out when used in some clothes or for some colors, and that it WILL drain its color when you wash it, so don't wash it with anything else the first few times.

Used 2 packs of these for an activity at our annual church camp and they were excellent. There was still small amounts left after doing 50 childrens t shirts from age 8 to 13. The children loved their finished shirts and wanted to do more! Instructions are for doing the dyeing with either dry or wet t shirts, we used wet ones and left them overnight. I would recommend this dye kit and will probably purchase it again in the future.

Those little bottles do tons of shirts. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t leave the shirts on bags as long as we should have but they are dark enough and still look great! The kit comes with everything you may need to tie dye successfully you just need your own plastic bags to keep the made shirt in for awhile. Perfect for a nice day outside. I will be buying again for my daughters 4th birthday party.

Für den 9. Kindergeburtstag meiner Tochter hatten wir etwas Kreatives gesucht, mit dem wir die Kinder gut beschäftigen können und hinterher ein individuelles Mitgebsel haben. Nach einigen Überlegungen haben wir uns für die Gestaltung von Batik-Shirts entschieden und sind nach einiger Suche auf die Tulip One-Step-Tie Dye Batikfarben gestoßen. Erster Vorteil gegenüber klassischen Batikfarben: Es ist kein zweiter Fixierungsgang notwendig. Zweiter Vorteil: Wir können eine Menge an Farben nutzen und müssen uns nicht auf einige, wenige beschränken. Als Vorbereitung haben wir uns zwei, drei Tutorials auf Youtube angesehen, die man schnell findet und die einem einige gute Techniken einfach näherbringen. Es sah eigentlich zu einfach aus. Also kam gestern die Nagelprobe, 14 kleine, anspruchsvolle Prinzessinnen waren angekommen und wir sind ohne Probelauf das Wagnis eingegangen! Ablauf: T-Shirts aus 100 % Baumwolle hatten wir organisiert und bereits einmal gewaschen. Nun werden die Shirts nach Anleitung "zusammengefaltet" bzw. In sich verdreht und mit den beigefügten Gummis fixiert. Das geht einfach, den Kindern mussten wir dabei kaum helfen. Parallel habe ich die kleinen, bereits mit Farbpulver bestückten Fläschchen mit kaltem Wasser aufgefüllt und gut geschüttelt. Damit sind die Farben, die dann innerhalb von 45 Minuten verarbeitet werden sollen, schon fertig. Zum Glück war gutes Wetter, ich hatte im Garten eine Plane ausgebreitet und mit Küchenrolle belegt. Damit sollte die überschüssige Farbe aufgesogen werden, um die Schweinerei gering zu halten. Das funktionierte auch sehr gut. Wichtig! VOR dem Auftragen der Farben die beigelegten Handschuhe anziehen, die Farbe geht von der Haut kaum ab. Nun einfach mit den Fläschchen vorsichtig die Farbe auftragen. Man bekommt schnell ein Gefühl dafür, die richtige Menge zu verwenden. Dabei das Shirt erst von einer, dann von der anderen Seite tränken. Die Farben möglichst wenig vermischen, dann wird das Ergebnis am besten. Im Anschluss die fertigen Shirts vorsichtig in Folie einwickeln und dann liegen lassen. Wir waren Nachmittags fertig und haben die Farben den ganzen Abend und die ganze Nacht einwirken lassen. Heute morgen unter kaltem Wasser sehr lange ausgewaschen und dann nochmal lauwarm mit Handwaschmittel ordentlich nachgewaschen. Was soll ich sagen? Ein Shirt war schöner als das andere, ich bin total begeistert. Tolle, kräftige Farben und super Muster. Es ist wirklich kein Shirt schlecht geworden. Als kleiner Tip zum Schluss: je chaotischer und bunter die vorbereiteten Shirts aussahen, desto toller waren die Ergebnisse! Wir sind extrem zufrieden, sogar begeistert, daher dieser Erfahrungsbericht, mein erster seit Jahren.

Más que sobre este kit concreto, prefiero opinar sobre el producto en general. No estaba muy segura de los resultados de algo tan simple, pero ahora no tengo dudas. No sólo su uso es sencillísimo, sino que sus colores no pierden un ápice de intensidad y viveza; es muy, muy cubriente (es fácil pasarse con la cantidad y luego tirarse media hora aclarando el exceso); cunde mucho más de lo que pensaba, con lo que se pueden teñir muchas prendas; la tela queda igual de ligera y flexible que antes de usarlo; y las posibilidades son infinitas. Porque no sólo es utilizable para tie dye (recomiendo muy mucho ver en YouTube los vídeos de la marca), sino también para shibori con muy buenos resultados. Pero, ojo, porque las instrucciones mienten en un punto: pasados 45 minutos de la mezcla NO se degrada el color en absoluto. De hecho, puedes tener medio bote durante mucho tiempo sin alteración alguna. Es decir: NO TIRES LOS SOBRANTES, que siguen en perfecto uso. Por ejemplo, de las fotos que añado, las dos camisetas en naranja y granate fueron hechas con cinco días de diferencia del mismo bote.Y no hay diferencia.
