Nobody knows the trouble Review: When I'm Cleaning Windows..... - Having played guitar (bass, lead, rhythm and acoustic) for over 30 years my girlfriend bought me this book and a Ukulele for my Christmas. This book makes it so easy to pick the Ukulele up and instantly bash out a popular tune or two. Very clear instructions for chords and strumming for even the most novice of beginners. Even my 7 year old son has managed to strum out a couple of tunes and he's never played guitar/ukulele before in his life. Only gripe is that there is a couple of mistakes in the chords underneath the music on certain pages but with a little thought it is easily sorted out. For the price this is still a 5 star product. Review: Good value - Fast postage

Nice clear print, large text
It's for a gift so I haven't delved too much into it, but the songs seem like familiar classics and appear easy to follow with handy tab descriptions. The print is good and clear, with nice quality overall. Nothing bad to say :)

Ok but...
A reasonable starter book but I've 3 niggles: Firstly there are numbers under each note ranging from 1 to 5 but I've no idea what they mean and the book doesn't explain these. Secondly some of the songs I already can play before I bought this book and the versions here are different chords and in fact don't sound as much like the versions I know which are much easier for beginners chord structures. For instance using chords D, A7, D7 and G you can play When the saints go marching in easily but this books chords are C, G7, F and Fm. A big difference. My third and final complaint is the songs are not in alphabetical order, making finding a song a chore of having to look up the index instead of simply flicking through the book in a logical easy way by letter order. So all in all an ok starter book but could be better hence the 3 stars only.

Great song selection
Just what I wanted. A good selection of songs. When learning the Ukukele it's best to start playing something as soon as you can. As your knowledge improves so can your repertoire with this book. It gives you the musical notation, the TAB and the Chords for each song. This gives you the opportunity to play Rhythm or Melody so varying your practice sessions and making them more interesting. Excellent compilation of songs.

Good collection of songs
Really useful charts of chords at the back, helps my children teach themselves new songs (without the help of their teacher, whilst they are on holiday!)

Recomendado
Lo utilicรฉ junto con un libro para principiantes, y es un excelente libro porque te da esa motivaciรณn cuando no sabes ni que podrรกs tocar con el instrumento.

nice book!
This book is designed perfectly for players of all levels. It has tabs, chords diagrams and regular notation so you have the best of all three needs in music. Use the tabs to help learn to put notes to finger position, and the chord diagrams to learn to strum during singing parts. Or mix it all up and do your own thing. I liked that the selection of songs included were across a wide range of styles. Most were tunes that are timeless, having been included in every song collection for decades (Aura Lee, Streets of Laredo). Others are more modern- Like Morning Has Broken. They appear to all be in the key of C, so not much fiddly hard chords or notes to frustrate the player. You might need a heavy clip to hold the pages open as you play, or have the book hole punched or spiral bound at a place like Staples.
