how much  milliliters of coffee i get from this maker (6 caps), because caps are different.

The 6 cups, is for 6 espresso size cups, which are normally small. But as I said in my review, I use the 6 cup for making one large mug of coffee and there's normally a little bit left over.I've just filled it with water up to the mark & poured into a measuring jug and you will get roughly 275ml of coffee from this pot.Hope that helps?

How does it work?

1) Unscrew the top section from the bottom section.2) Remove the strainer from the bottom section.3) Fill the bottom section to around the level of the release valve you can see inside, with cold fresh water, preferably filtered.4) Replace the strainer into the bottom section.5) Spoon ground coffee into the strainer. About 2/3 full to begin with, depending on the strength of coffee you have or want. You can adjust this amount for stronger or weaker coffee next time if you want to.6) Screw back the top section onto the bottom section tightly. This needs to be quite tight to create a seal between the sections.7) Put the pot onto the stove and wait till it has boiled. You will hear it gurgle when it's done or almost done.8) Remove from the stove (be careful, it will be hot) and pour into heated milk or drink it black.NB I recommend immediately empty the coffee grounds and cleaning the pot after cooling it under running water. Remember to rinse the grounds from the seal too.Some smaller size percolators are too small for gas stoves. This can be remedied by buying a Gas Reducer Ring which bridges the gap and allows the pot to sit safely.

I use mine on a glass ceramic hob with no problems at all. In fact it heats the water quicker in my opinion.

Can I use this for 1 or shots of espresso or would I have to do 6 at a time?

It doesn't work as well if you use less coffee or water than normal, but it's possible.
