TAMIYA TAM74522 74522 Stand, Model Making, 360° Rotatable, Paint Accessories, Turntable, Air Brush Painting Aid, Grey, Yellow

I bought this as a solution for my miniature painting hobby, in order to be able to batch prime, basecoat, and varnish. I had already tried a generic brand system and had been SEVERELY disappointed. This, however, has proved to be a treat. I did read on reviews how many people do not like the included clips. I found them a bit fiddly, true, but really easy to use once you get the hang of them, and very gentle on the miniatures, no scratches even on relatively fresh paint. I also read that the carousel is too light, and yes, it's light, but unless you're painting solid, large resin pieces it shouldn't be a problem. And you could easily weigh it down or stick it to a heavy wood block or something. The carousel movement is smoother than any other I've tried, and I did not expect that it would have a number of extra placement solutions, intended for sprues but easily adapted to "alligator clips on cocktail sticks" kind of things. As you can see from my photos, I was easily able to fit in 8 32mm miniatures (not included) using separately purchased tamiya alligator clips. I have not yet used the second carousel, but have some ideas on how to use it (I don't really paint vehicle models). Given the abysmally enormous difference in quality compared to the generic thing I had before, I would give six stars, but alas, that can't be done.

This is a very nice quality paint stand by Tamiya. Can also be used as a display stand and to hold pieces while you glue or paint them. Comes with two stands, a larger rotating flat stand, which has for removable clips/clamps for holding small parts. The small stand is square, also rotates and has two large, adjustable spring clamps, ideal for holding model cars, chassis, tanks, etc. Made from good quality sturdy materials. Good value compared to cheaper options. Thank you

The stands are very versatile and useful when model making. They revolve, making it easy to paint all sides of a model, and the clips are a great help when painting small parts. Various holes in the large stand can hold paint brushes. The smaller stand has adjustable arms making it possible to mount a range of model parts, e.g. car bodies. Overall a very useful set.

Decent turntable paint stand with the added bonus of a second spring type turntable stand with it for painting vehicle chassis. The item took a while to come as the seller was in Japan but as the price was half that you'd pay down the road in the Hobby Store it's worth the wait. Also included are some small crocodile clips which are good for small figures/parts and not too powerful in their grip so aren't going to score your part, these clips fit into small holes in the stand as well so very handy I've knocked off a star however as the stands don't have little rubber pads underneath which would anchor them more to the surface they were on which another stand I have does have which is a very useful feature, easy enough to add yourself but why not include them?

Delivered on time, excellent price, excellent product. Me being me…I wrapped it in paper to stop it getting sprayed…!

I bought this as a gift for my husband for when he’s painting and making his airfix models. He’s very happy with them but unfortunately he’s not had a minute to use it or even put it together, but he’s very happy with it and said it’s a great device and will be very helpful.

I was really waffling on 4 or 5 stars on this'n Ok, first important disclaimer. I am not a pro or college educated artist, so read my review with that in mind. I paint Mostly war hammer 28mm figures and the associated armor an such of late, but this thing has become a critical part of most any model or little project I end up spending time on. I had thought it would just come with the one large stand but the bo actually had two stands, a large one that I use for setting a batch of space marines or orc around and the other one that I've found more suitable to vehical and large parts that need a bit of bracing to stay put whilst painting. I use these for both brush painting and air brushing and I'm here to tell ya, it is handy as heck!! One minor draw back is that especially the large round one the bottom will drop out of it if you don't pick it up by the very base. Not at all a big deal, but be advised. THis is another one of those tools that at a certain point I have come to see as vital to this hobby. I also use these same stands for building balsa stick models, sometimes for electtronics projects, they are great stands! Note:I'm pretty severely moibility challenged compliments of teh bad guys in Iraq so in my particular case I REALLY needed a high quality small stand I could use on my lap mmmm work space board thing-ee (in a past life it was a Ikea book case shelf board) and it's awesome for that. It doesn't take up much space, is easy to move and set around, heavy enough that it doesn't go skittering an sliding off my board when I lean over to get stuff or look behind. ANyone chair bound is likely to like these things, IMHO.
