Good quality toy
I bought this for my son's first birthday. He enjoys playing with it. I find the quality fine despite what some may have said in their reviews. There are no chips to the wooden box of blocks and all blocks have a good even coat of paint on them. The blocks fit well through the holes they're supposed to. The lid does slide in and out easily. Some people have noted this as a criticism but I find it good as my son would struggle with a stiff lid. I've never seen it bother him that it's so easy to remove. If the blocks fall out... sure, more fun putting them back! Anyhoo... I like this and thought it was good value. The one I have has no problems and on that basis I'd recommend it.

Simple, no frills toy! Odd shapes though!
Love wooden toys and this one is pure and simple. Good quality, lovely vibrant coloured blocks and toddler enjoys playing with it and stacking the shape blocks too, however some of the shapes are a bit obscure when trying to teach a toddler their shapes! I don't think my two year old will remember what a trapezoid or octagon is!

great toy
just received the cube, its light, thus great for kids, the blocks are solid. honestly after reading few reviews I did not expect much, but I was nicely surprised. my cube has a sliding wall, so I does not open unwanted, I reckon you need to be lucky to buy the right cube from a right seller, as for me its A+, can't fault it... most importantly my daughter likes it and she gets exited when blocks makes noise when pushed inside its also well designed because no blocks can go inside unless they are placed in the right hole (I tried!!!!) as some other sorters allow you to cut corners... its great value for money as I paid under £10 including postage..

Classic Learning Fun
My little one LOVES this toy! It keeps her busy while also helping with her motor skills and shape recognition. Solid wood, safe, and colourful. You can’t go wrong with Melissa & Doug. A timeless toy!

Silly sliding top.
Do not like how the top of the box has no stability and falls off just with tipping it at a downwards angle. For those saying they like it as it makes it easier for the child to remove, this is pointless as the child would learn how to remove it if it were built properly in the first place regardless. Baby was 8-9 months when purchased. Keeping this until he gets slightly older and can understand it a bit better. The shapes are fun for them to suck on however. The shapes within the box itself are nice and intricate.

Shape Sorting Cube - a gift for my Grandson's 1st birthday
I would highly recommend the Shape Sorting Cube toy as a good quality toy. I purchased it as a gift for my grandson's first birthday, the toy was a bit too advanced for him but that didn't stop him playing with the coloured shapes... I think that once he understands that the coloured shapes fit into the coordinating holes this toy will be played with all the time (incidentally, his older brother who is almost 3 understood what he had to do with the shapes and he really loved the toy. Lots of lovely bright colours and no nasty sharp corners. I was very pleased with my choice and also very pleased with the price which was much, much cheaper than the RRP of this toy. Thank you.

Colourful, playful and very neatly made
I was a bit put off reading all the reviews on here, but I'm glad I made the purchase. I have found this product to be very neatly made, good quality - no paint rubbing off, no wood chipping off, no sharp edges, no rough sides. Its beautifully made, the shapes fit the slots very well and the fact that there are so many, just makes the fun last longer. My 2yr old is in love with it, he has been playing with it all day today and he has decided to take it to bed too, its keeping him company while he sleeps. He has been loving sliding shapes into the box or even just dropping them in emptying out the box all over again. he knows his basic shapes, so this has provided him with new vocabulary and a lot more shapes to learn. I'm going to take this on a 14hr flight with us, hoping it'll keep him engaged for sometime. Love how it looks and its pretty sturdy too.
