Perfect, great value and real tasty
Item recieved slightly deviated from listing by being 1x(8x4g) pack, instead of 2x(4x4g) packs. No problem there. Seen some neg reviews talking about out of date etc so I checked and all were well in date (+3years left; 13/07/24). Real good for cheap simple pasta dishes, also great for paella & risotto. I have even used this to colour & flavour bread. Will buy again.

Excellent Squid Ink
I first tasted black squid ink risotto whilst in Spain and enjoyed it so much that I was determined to try making it at home. Unfortunately nobody seems to stock squid ink in our local supermarkets so I was delighted to find a source available from Amazon. When it arrived I was slightly disappointed to discover it was cuttlefish ink, but having read a few reports discovered this is quite common. These little sachets containing the black ink are just the right size for one risotto and my first attempt didn't disappoint. There are 4 sachets in each pack and two packs in this product, so you get 8 sachets of the black gold. Excellent product, not cheap but guaranteed to make a dramatic statement when used in a risotto.

Great tasting ink, convenient package if cooking small amounts.
Great ink, very nice flavour and the small individual packets are excellent if you don't cook with squid ink very often. I found that I need to use at least double the recommended amount in my arroz negro to achieve the desired flavour, however I think it is up to individual taste. If you are cooking for a large group of people, it can get very fiddly to open and empty a lot of these little sachets as inevitably your hands will get dirty, also there could be a lot of wastage if you do not squeeze the sachets properly. After finishing this packet of squid ink sachets, I bought a 90g jar and found it so much more convenient to use and perhaps because of the size of the jar, it seems so much more aromatic and 'fishy' smelling. It is also great to add it into pasta dough, your pasta will be very dark and goes really well with white crab meat, so simple to make and looks very "chefy".

Black pasta
Used to make black past for Halloween. Good flavour and small sachets meant little waste. Long shelf life is also a bonus.
