Canestest Vaginal Infection Self-Test for Bacterial Vaginosis & Thrush

I don't know why so many people aren't managing this test and writing bad reviews. It works perfectly well if you follow the instructions and read the table properly. Basically if you've got some unusual discharge and itching you've narrowed it down to either vb or thrush. This test is ONLY for these two infections.if you think you have anything else or unsure, please go to your gp asap! Read up on the NHS website on possible vaginal infection and determine if your symptoms are similar to thrush or vb. Once you have narrowed it down to those two, order this test before buying treatments as it is two very different treatments, and contrary to one reviewers suggestion to "use both it won't do you any harm" , it will do you harm! Always use correct treatment! So the test arrives, take it out of the box and wash your hands thoroughly before taking it out of the foil packet. Insert the test and circle it around to gather a good sample then pop it onto the back of the box where the instructions are detailed. Wash your hands thoroughly again. By the time you've done this the results are ready to be read. Blue/ blueish green means you've likely to have vb and you should contact your pharmacist or gp to obtain the correct antibiotics to treat this and for proper confirmation. If it stays the same yellow as it comes and you have symptoms such as unusual discharge (cottage cheese) and/ or itching, your very likely to have thrush and you should obtain thrush treatment from your pharmacy it can be bought over the counter or prescribed. If your symptoms persist after 7 days see your gp. If it stays original yellow and you've no symptoms then I'm not entirely sure why you'd need to have bought this as it would appear to either be something else or nothing. Please can I just say again, ONLY BUY IF YOU'VE NARROWED YOUR SYMPTOMS TO VB OR THRUSH AS THIS IS ONLY SUITABLE TO DETERMINE BETWEEN THE TWO NOT ANY OTHER INFECTION. IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY OTHER SYMPTOMS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SEE YOUR GP!

My friend asked me if I could purchase the above for her, and she's Happy with the item. Also, not having to book doctor's appointments, which can go on for a week or two, for results, with this you know straight away and can then book up IF you need to, She Said it do's what it says on the Box.

It did the job, but it is a bit expensive for just one stick!! Anyhow, it helped me to get the right medication after 2 weeks of discomfort (I've been wrongly treated for thrush). If I can give an advise this would be: if you can be seen by a doctor it's always the best option, but if you can't try this test before trying anything else! :)

Good indication as to whether there's a problem. Easy to use. Good value.

This is very easy to use, but not sure if is accurate. The result was in between yellowish greenish colour. It is difficult to trust this type of test. Better book an appointment with dr as I think this test was waste of money.

Does what its meant to do, instructions are easy to understand.

With appointments taking ages at doctors this is a great way for home testing. Results given seem accurate. Easy to use and results explained as to symptoms. So yes I had thrush again. So also bought the thrush duo pack to treat. Pessary and cream now on the mend. No doctors. Worth the expense.
