Do the blades on this shredder adjust to different widths?

No the blades are - it is a basics model. I have had no problems with this at all. I had a huge clear out during lock down. The shredder coped with papers, light card, cheque book stubs, credit cards, CDs and DVDs. There were no jams or stoppages. It is an eight sheet max capacity. Stick to that and it seems fine.

Does this shredder have a normal plug or an adapter?

It has a normal plug. I am also very pleased with it, as it is much better than my previous one.

Will this shred cardboard or does anybody know the thickness this all shred

Yes, it shreds cardboard well, we shred all our Amazon boxes and ones even thicker.
