Remington QuickCut Hair Clippers, 40-Minute Use, 9 Combs, HC4250

I have been cutting my own hair for several years and before that my wife used to cut it. I have always used a professional hair clippers and have had both cordless and corded. The clippers that this Remington Quickcut was bought to replace are corded and cost a lot more money. There is nothing wrong with them, but I have found it very difficult to cut my own hair with them and I decided to try and find something a little easier. After a fair bit of research I decided to give these a try. I have just used them for the first time and they are way better than the traditional clippers that they are replacing. Please watch the video for an in-depth look at them and to see how I got on with them whilst cutting my own hair. They are so much easier to use than my other ones. This is partly due to the fact that the blades are curved and fit the contours of my head better. Also they fit into the hand in a way that makes keeping the blade flat against the scalp much easier than the long handle on traditional clippers. This is further enhanced by the absence of a chord. They are much easier to use if you cut your own hair. This also applies if you usually get someone to do it for you too. I found them much quicker too as they were easier to keep flat on my scalp. Inside the box: The clippers, a soft carrying case, Instructions, charger, cleaning brush, oil for the blade and nine different sized combs (see the product description for their sizes). In the video I use the clippers without a comb and they cut my hair very short (1mm according to the instructions). The clippers have a battery that should last around 40 minutes. I reckon it took me around 5 minutes to cut my hair and beard so plenty of cuts on one charge. It recharges from flat in 4 hours. A brilliant feature is the ability to use them from the mains socket, with the power adapter plugged in, if the battery is flat. The mains adapter has a cable of around 6 feet length so it would be possible to cut your hair easily this way. It does state that constantly using the clippers via the mains will shorten the life of the battery. Personally, I love the fact that the clippers are cordless and would only use this feature if I ran out of charge. The unit also has a quick charge feature that may allow you to finish a cut if the battery runs out. 10 minutes charge time will give an “emergency burst of runtime”. The clippers are easy to clean. They are water resistant and are designed to be switched on and rinsed under a tap. The blades can easily be removed to give the clippers a more thorough clean with the brush provided. They did not need this after I cut my hair, but I showed it in the video. Three drops of oil on the running blade and then the clippers can be put away ready for the next cut. There is another clipper called the Shortcut that is quite a bit more expensive than the Quickcut. If you are wondering what the difference is; the Shortcut is completely waterproof and can be used whilst showering to keep the mess down. I like to cut my hair in the shower, but when it is dry, before I actually turn it on. Also, I like to check that I have not missed anything in the mirror before I shower, so for me the Quickcut is fine. I love using these clippers. They are much easier and quicker than my old ones. There is no chord to deal with so you can cut your hair anywhere. They are quiet, fit nicely in the hand and are ergonomic to use. At no time did they feel like they were unsafe or had the potential to cut me around the ears or nose. I was very comfortable using them. I cannot vouch for how long they will last, but after reading other reviews and owning other Remington equipment, I think that they will be a good purchase. I loved using them and I reckon you will too if you are fed up of struggling to cut your hair with conventional corded hair clippers.

There's was bit of a learning curve coming to this curved blade from a regular straight made Whal clipper to this. I found without a guard if doesn't cut as close as my old whal clipper did and without a using one of the guards catches a lot. That's the cons out of the way. Now onto the pros. The shape looks odd to anyone used to using a regular clipper, however it fits the hand far better making it easy to manouver. The blade is wider than a regular clipper and and the curve makes each pass far more uniform than a straight blade does, this really does speed up your buzz cut. As well as the regular grade combs there are some shorter ones which I prefer, going for something shorter than grade 1. As I said there's a little learning curve but after a couple of uses i came to prefer the Quick Cut over my regular clippers and with the right guard gives an excellent buzzcut in less time. I'm writing this in December 2021, since buying my Quick Cut in January 2018 I've used it every a week to buzzcut my head and do a little manscaping. The unit is still working perfectly. The only maintenance it gets is a few drops of clipper oil every few weeks and a quick brush every use. The unit can be rinsed and is designed to be but I stopped doing that after noticing a damp smell - took the blade off and aired it a few days and didn't rinse it again, it's never recurred. The downside is after about 4 years use the 2.5mm guide has started to break and Remington's USA website which had them available doesn't ship outside the USA. It took a few weeks to get a response from staff at Remington's European site but eventually they responded asking for contact details and said they would ring me. A couple of weeks later they did. Going by the accent I'm guessing the American staff cover the UK site too really. Anyway I was able to get a complete set of replacement combs sent to me for about £12 including postage. It took a long time faffing with contacting the company, email and phone contacts to get the replacement set and its a pain having to buy the whole lot when I only needed and actually ever use a single comb. Remington really need to sort out their support for customers outside the USA. That said its such a good clipper I've used this one for 4 years, the blades seem fine and the battery still charges.

Very easy to use & does a great job, loses a star for the poor storage bag, should come with a case, but highly recommended

This is a first for me, a review whilst charging up an electrical product for the first time..well, I've owned exactly the same model as this one for years and only recently has the battery started to not holding a charge for long but I can still get a couple of trims before needing to charge it again. Time for a replacement I figured so I already know what a great trimmer it is and when I unpacked it I couldn't tell the difference between the two at first glance other than a tiny bit of wear and tear, the difference between the two is that the new one comes with a neat storage bag compared to the old one's zipped case otherwise the guide combs are identical the old guide combs fit the new trimmer and vice versa and the cleaner brush likewise not a surprise as this model came out perfectly the first time round and as the Americans rightly say " if ain't broke don't fix it" this new one is even better for money than the old one, I paid £10 LESS than the old one ok yes it was on offer but still outstanding value for money even at the normal price and the same solid build quality, no cutting down on materials over time here. The power is all you could need and being cordless it's easier to use than anything else with a limiting cord, it has a nice but manageable weight to it and you can be as precise using it as you can wish for.

I bought this two months before I actually used it. I bought it to replace my mains powered clipper. My Wife who cuts my hair found the mains unit was vibrating her hand painfully. Using this Remington was a dream to use. Gentle both on her hand and my head. Smooth and easy trimming. Using this was the first time she didn't have to trim bits of hair with scissors. Overall I am both very pleased with this product. It does what it says it will and is head friendly. I recommend this product for its ability and gentleness. As an aside you can also use the clipper whilst plugged in and charging.

Great set of hair clippers. Super smooth exta quiet and it dose your hair in half the time of a flat blade. Yep the bend in the blade really dose work better. Comfortable in the hand, nice weight. Advertised as waterproof but conflicting instructions on pack raises doubts. Otherwise the perfect hair clippers.

One day it hit me that, since I am losing hair on the crown at 37, and each time I go to the barber's I try to decide whether it's 1mm or 0.5mm (because I still try not to look fully bald, or at least to convince myself that I am not going in that direction), I realised that maybe it is time to start shaving/trimming myself. Frankly speaking, I've never trimmed or shaved my head before. Anyway, straight to the point - this clipper is great on all accounts: - I use it without any comb, and it trims my hair exactly as I want it, closer to the desired ~0.5mm - It is very convenient to use: you can wash the blade with water without fear of breaking it, it's small and handy, and it's cordless. Battery life is enough to trim the head and shave the face as well. I'm truly satisfied with it and with finding it.

Introduction I have used a wide array of shavers during my time sporting a 'buzz cut' hair style, all I can say is that the Remmington HC4250 is by far the best shaver I have ever owned, by miles in fact. Before buying this product I actually had a look around Boots to see if there were any bargains to be had on a new shaver, since my old one was one the way out (and getting worryingly hot during use). The Boots price was just under £70, meaning that the Amazon price is an absolute bargain. The item arrived in only a couple of days. It comes in a sturdy well made box, and everything inside was in order. Design and Feel The shaver is brilliantly designed, with a curved stocky shape that fits user's hand and a reassuring heaviness that greatly aids in guiding the razor smoothly across the head. I find the best way to hold it is to grip with the thumb whilst having the body of the shaver resting in the curve of the first three fingers with the pinky providing minor support. The instruction manual provides a few recommended holding techniques as well as instructions on how to cut your own hair, including which blade guards to use for different sections of the head (the guards work well although my hairstyle is a buzz-cut without the guards so they have not seen regular use). The body of the HC4250 has a stylish, sleek and somewhat futuristic grill-plate look on the front with silver/grey bordering and a red plastic under-plating visible behind the grill. The power button is located at the top just above the Remmington logo, whilst the power cord socket is at the rear. There are nine guard sizes to choose from as well as a zip-up pouch bag and a mains charger. Care and cleaning is all explained in the manual, there is a water channel section just behind the blades (marked with a water drop graphic) into which water can be run to rinse out any hair or dust. It Is extremely simple and easy, just a quick rinse and wipe, and you're done. User Experience The blades are wider than you would think (6.5 cm), much wider than those of a standard hair shaver (4.5 cm). This is great for coverage but be warned, the blades are wide enough to easily catch the eyebrows if not used carefully whilst trimming sideburns/temple area. They are slightly curved and fit almost perfectly across the main curves/contours of the user's head (especially across the top-side area and the nape of the neck). The cut itself is the best I have had from any shaver, the speed and ease of which has never been beaten. The HC4250 cuts through the hair like a hot knife through butter meaning that my hair cutting time was slashed from 10-15 mins to only 5 mins at the very most, with very little need for repeated passes over the same area. This eliminates most shaving irritation and discomfort for men with sensitive skin although I doubt this will help those prone to flakey scalps or dandruff. The curved blades allow for a shorter and tighter look with a more even cut, whilst the size of the blades allows for broad sweeps across the heads which will have larges sections of the head shaved in no time. After using this, going back to a tradition style shaver seems like a laborious chore. Conclusion Would I recommend this product? Definitely yes. Even with a higher price tag, the HC4250 justifies it by outperforming practically every shaver I have ever owned. It is simply worth it and, if the other reviews are anything to go by, I am not alone in that opinion.

Al principio pensé que eso de la cuchilla en curva y no tener mango eran tonterías de marketing para diferenciar el producto de la competencia. Pero el caso es que me hacía falta reponer mi anterior cortapelos, y como tuve uno Remington que me salió buenísimo pensé en repetir, y este tenía buenos comentarios. No esperaba nada especial, simplemente el mismo rendimiento de un cortapelos normal de cuchilla recta, pero me equivoqué y mucho. La cuchiclla es bastante más ancha que en los cortapelos habituales, casi el doble, y la curva hace que sea más sencillo cortar más pelo en la cabeza de una sola pasada. El tipo de agarre es muy diferente, es cierto, y al principio se hace raro, pero tras unos pocos usos se le coge el truco y es mucho más cómodo para mi gusto que un mango tradicional. Lleva acabados en goma que hacen casi imposible que se deslice de la mano incluso usándolo bajo el agua. Corta muy bien bajo el agua, y limpiarlo es sencillísimo, se desmonta la cuchilla, se pasa todo por debajo del grifo y se deja secar, sin más. La batería dura mucho más en mi caso de lo que dice el fabricante, cerca de un 25% más. De todas formas no la agoto nunca, lo recargo cada par de usos o así para no castigarla. Viene con muchos peines de distintas longitudes, aunque yo no los uso así que no puedo decir nada de ellos. Hay que lubricar la cuchilla de vez en cuando, es el único "pero" que le puedo sacar. Otras marcas no necesitan esta lubricación, pero tampoco es algo muy molesto y sinceramente me compensa por el tiempo que ahorro gracias al diseño que tiene. Es muy silencioso, en comparación con otros que he tenido, y yo que me corto el pelo a lo mínimo que da este cortapelos, aproximadamente medio milímetro, ahorro muchísimo tiempo, tardo menos de la mitad en raparme la cabeza de lo que tardaba con mi anterior cortapelos, y lo agradezco muchísimo. Un excelente producto y además tiene un muy buen precio aquí en Amazon. Me costó bastante menos que mi anterior cortapelos, con el que estaba muy contento pero que se ha visto superado por este.

La batería le dura muy poco y para la barba no sirve porque se atasca y te jala, y es muy incomodo. Sin duda hay mejores opciones y más baratas en el mercado no pierdan su dinero
