Solid camera, needs viewfinder to see what your shooting. I got a magnetic after market one. Great overall our base for the price. I like that I am use motorized zoom lenses. Weeeeeeeee

I love this camera best I’ve ever had. Packaging was great, fast shipping. The fit and finish is perfect, its features are breathtaking and its cinematic features are are excepted by many networks, Netflix for one so u have a very powerful tool in you hands. My only complaint is there’s no Manual telling you how to use it! I’ve been on you tube trying to find Sony users of this camera to learn what I have. I’m not camera savvy but I paid for it and by god I’m gonna master this thing, bought 4 lenses, a microphone the Sony tough memory cards so I’m all in and just wish I cud go to school to learn, I’m 68 and willing to do it.

Es mi camara principal de video principalmente, lo unico que no me gustó fue que no funciona para fotografías con flash, sin embargo lo he usado con luces continuas y tiene muy buena calidad. No se recalienta!

I used it one night and the next day it just said "The cooling fan has malfunctioned" now I need to return it, really dissapointed

Best camera out there hands down.

It's complicated. If I had to summarize the product: It's alright. But it's not awesome or amazing. I replaced my a6600 with the FX30 and right away I discovered that the FX30: Isn't really that much cleaner with noise or has higher dynamic range. Goes through batteries twice as fast as the a6600. Its 10 bit 422 isn't really that noticeable. Has a larger grip that's kinda uncomfortable, where the a6600 grip was perfect. Lacks all of the photography features the a6600 had. Has an oversized audio handle that makes it 25% taller than my a6600 with XLR attachment. Is too heavy for any of my gimbals. Has a flip out screen that is blocked if you plug in headphones (or any other cable on the side) Lack electronic viewfinder which I used during super sunny days. Has a menu system even more confusing and convoluted than the a6600. Distorts audio levels on input 3 on auto mode. I thought I'd love the flip out screen compared to the a6600 tilt system, but I kinda miss it now. On the plus side, I do appreciate having four audio channels. I can see the usefulness of a second SD card slot, though I don't use it. But that's about it. If I could have four audio channels on my a6600, I'd go back to that. So - if this is your first camera, or if you're considering upgrading, you probably don't need this unless you do a lot of high quality greenscreen work and need that 10 bit 422 for keying. If you want to do a mix of high quality videography and photography, the a6600 or a6700 is much better value for money.

Things I like...I get good results recording 4K XAVC S video onto a V90 SDXC card. I shoot in SLog3 and apply a display LUT to the LCD and to color correction in Davinci Resolve. "Flexible exposure" mode lets the camera set parameters which you can override and reset to manual. Touch autofocus sets lens focus on a particular screen region and toggles manual focus. A push on the center dial switches back to autofocus. Facial tracking is very good. You can sync the internal clock with an LTC timecode device using appropriate cables. 3d party E mount lenses are available. The camera is smaller and lighter than most competitors. Things I don't like... The camera doesn't record RAW video internally. There is no EVF. The online manual is very confusing. I found a YouTube user video that was much better. The XLR handle doesn't fold into a small package and the preamps seem noisy. Instead, I use a small Rode mic mounted on the hot shoe and plugged into the 3.5mm mic input on the camera. Sony G series lenses are good but expensive. CFast Type A cards are very expensive. To use gyroscope data for image stabilization in 4K you have to subscribe to the Sony Catalyst non free version at $200/yr. That's outrageous. Gyro stabilization and RAW recording are included with Blackmagic cameras at no extra charge. I'm happy with the camera overall and carry it around to lots of places that I wouldn't take a larger camera. I'm learning to use it on a DJI RS3 mini gimbal. My other cameras are too big for that. This camera may be a gateway drug to the FX3 but it's larger sensor requires larger lenses. I'll stick with the FX30 for now.

Compré esta cámara de Cine/Video con caja abierta ya que el precio mejoraba bastante a comparación de haberlo comprado nuevo. La cámara llegó en buen estado y no mostraba señales de uso, estaba casi como nueva, igual la agarradera estaba como nueva y no tenía señales de uso. Tengo que mencionar que esta cámara está más enfocada al cine o video y no tanto hacia la fotografía ya que la calidad de estas y funciones de fotografía son algo básicas, así que si tu intención principal es la fotografía esta cámara no es la indicada. Otra buena que tiene esta cámara es que puedes utilizarla con tarjetas SD como CF Express tipo A.

This camera is an absolute beast for video shooters. I am blown away by the quality of video that this camera produces. Nothing else comes close for the price, will buy another soon!

This camera is unreal. If you take the time to learn how the Cine EI feature works and shooting in S-Log3, combine that with DCI 4K and true 24p and you will be greatly rewarded. I don’t even leave the house without my fx30 anymore. I make blockbuster-feel movies out of everything.
