Good value and works brilliantly
The BrosTrend USB WiFi Dongle 1200Mbps has been a great upgrade for my setup. It was extremely easy to install, and the connection has been fast and reliable from the moment I plugged it in. The long-range performance is impressive, I’m getting a strong, stable signal even from across the house. Streaming, browsing, and downloads all feel noticeably smoother. For the price, convenience, and performance, this USB WiFi adapter is a fantastic value. Highly recommended!

Excellent
I have Dell Inspiron and the internal Wifi was problematic (Dell replaced Wifi card and updated drivers), Wifi would completely disappear when transferring data. I decided to try the Bros Trend AC3 USB Wifi Antenna system . Installation was straight forward, just remember to disable the existing Wifi adapter first ! Bros Trend supplied a disk containing the installer and drivers. After install a reboot and hey presto the new device was up and running and attempting a connection to my 5G network. After entering my network login information and I was up and running. A check on signal strengths and a tweak of the Ariel position/rotation to optimise the signal and I was getting 100% signal strength and +90% quality. This boosted my downloads to about 140Mbps, almost double that of the internal Wifi adaptor. The system has been running for over 2 weeks now. Wifi is firm it does not stop or disappear, even under stress with simultaneous data uploads and downloads. The only slight niggle I have is with the Realtek WLAN Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter program. This is the front end program that allows you to change settings and monitor signal strengths and data. It is a little temperamental on starting up the laptop, but it does not affect the operation of the Wifi. I dont really need it and so have deleted the program - this does not affect the operation of the Bros Trend Wifi device. If I do need to run it then it is easily installable again, without affecting the Bros Trend device. So overall I'm very satisfied with this device. 9.9/10

Seemingly decent Realtek based adapter.
Unlike some reviews on here, mine does pick up the 5G signal from my router. The signal strength seems to be about the same as the TP Link adapter it is replacing (I could not remember if that was dual band wireless AC compatible or not, thus the purchase) holding at 2/3 bars on the windows start bar. While it works straight off just plugging in the USB port on a Windows 10 machine, I found that the drivers from the BrosTrend website stabilised the performance and let the speeds go from around 31Mbp/s to just under 35Mbp/s (where my Huawei Mate 20 Pro only gets 26Mbp/s on the same network). Considering that the machine it is connected to is on the second floor and the other side of the house from the router (pretty much as far as it could get and through as much stuff as possible) I don't think that's too bad. One recommendation I will give to people buying one of these is that if you use Windows 10, it can take some time to connect when you boot up. For some reason (by default it seems) Windows turns off the device for power saving until some program wants internet access, at which point it is too late for services like Steam, Origin and Uplay. I have managed to stop this by going into device manager, opening up the adapter properties (listed as Realtek 8812BU wireless LAN), going into the power management tab and unticking the box to allow for power saving.

The most Popular - Really Poor Wi-Fi Adapter!
I Purchased this Bostrend device based on it's claims AND Crucially influenced by the number of Purchases against it. I just wanted an average Wi-Fi Antenna nothing particularly demanding. I thought it looked ideal. It was Ideal - for the nearest Return Opportunity Why? 1) Shocking, Cheap Nasty Plastic Base that you could not fit correctly the USB Male part of the system with the Antennas on correctly. I couldn't believe at first but when googled it was a Common Issue. i so wish i had done more research it "waggled" and kept dropping signal. Even when it was working it was a Drayhorse going uphill! - Dreadful device cheap, nasty plastic construction. 2) The USB lead from the base was so ridiculously short less than a metre, there was no way to try to optimise it for Signal. i had to fit a USB3 extension lead. 3) It came with an Install that was quite old, over a year and didn't have the current driver. Went to site to download at it seemed like you had to pay for it. That is not in Principal and i will never do that - it should come with the product every time. No excuses. when you buy something you should get the up to date version. I did try the tplink - that wanted to take over from my EE/BT Router with a hard wire connection, i just didn't get it. ? i am IT Savvy I just didn't get what it was all about it was like a communist take over. You are leaving yourself wide open on your contract with ee who happen to have the best network out there. Get a problem your support goes out of the window when you hard wire something like that up to it. I did settle for the Wavlink Adapter which in every respect was streets ahead of the Bostrend, a quality piece of kit on the 5m network it is regularly recording 850mbps i have had just under a 1000mbps. had it a few weeks and it has never dropped or been an issue and you did get the latest version for the extra £10 no brainer. Those figures were recorded on my EE/BT Openreach Fast Fibre Network, no a fishing tale hope this helps someone if only one person.

Whether you're working in a site cabin, streaming AV content, or just need a clean connection in a WiFi dead zone, this adapter delivers rock-solid speed and cockpit-level control. The USB 3.0 interface ensures full bandwidth, and the dual-band support lets you switch between 2.4GHz for range or 5GHz for speed. Setup is plug-and-play for most Windows systems, and the compact form factor means it won’t crowd your ports or clutter your rig. ✅ Big Wins 1200Mbps total speed—fast enough for 4K streaming and gaming Dual 5dBi antennas—long-range signal capture USB 3.0 interface—full-speed data transfer Stable connection—great for remote work or mobile rigs Plug-and-play on Windows—no faff, no drivers needed Amazon rating: 4.2 stars from 13,000+ reviews PCMag calls it a solid alternative to mesh systems for single-device upgrades2 ⚠️ Minor Trade-Offs Bulky with antennas attached—may block nearby USB ports No MacOS support—Windows/Linux only Driver install may be needed for older systems—CD included or download online Not ideal for travel—antennas aren’t foldable No Bluetooth support—WiFi only 🧍♂️ Personal Verdict Tested in a site cabin and home office—held signal through walls, streamed clean, and stayed cool. For around £29, it’s a proper WiFi upgrade that adds reach, speed, and cockpit-ready reliability to any PC setup. If you want to boost your signal without the faff of mesh systems, this one’s a winner.

Consigliatissimo!

I love it, it consistent
I purchased this antenna and downloaded the software on my Windows 7 laptop. "AMAZING: is all I can say. Without exaggeration, it spead up my signal about 4x's. I love it, it consistent, I use 5.0 and 2.4. Avg download speads, 175 Mbps. I also hooked it up my my newest laptop with Windows 10. The software doesn't load up like it did on Win 7. It was a little aggravating, but my downloads speeds average about 170 Mbps. Sometimes it's less, but that the internet! I am not exaggerating, I can take the antenna off, and my speeds are in the 40 to 60 Mbps range. I just wish the software was the same for Windows 10 as it is for Windows 7. You have to know a little bit about setting up networks to make it work. You will have a WiFi 1 and a WiFi 2 after installing the software. This antenna will be on WiFi 2. UPDATE: You MUST have a good Router for this antenna. I call the support line, they helped me with the settings for my router. LynkSys changed a few settings on the Router. No calls or changes to the antenna. 60ft away and I am constantly getting around 175 Mbps. I have a two story home, I take the antenna off, and my speeds are 50 to 60 Mbps.consistently. Put the antenna back on (USB 3.0 port) and instantly I have my 160 to 170 Mbps back. I love this antenna, but you need a fairly new computer to get these speeds. NOTE: I only have 150 Mbps service at my home, that's all I pay for, but sometimes I will reach over 180 Mbps. My internet is lightening fast. I am very happy and will be buying a few more. My nephew has an MAC. With the stock antenna and NO adjustments, he gets 160Mpbs with no problem. The apple computer does this straight out of the box, FYI., Also his Apple phone gets around 150 Mbps with not problem. UPDATE #3: I am in the process of buying another one of these antennas. It's still working great, and my speeds have not changed. I have another laptop I am going to use the new one on. Works great on Windows 7 & 10. I am still very happy with the antenna. "Just" sometimes it gets in the way, but considering I am using it on laptops, that's to be expected. When I disconnect the antenna, I loose 70% of my speed!

Quick to setup and so far running GREAT!
The packaging was great to begin with and was straight to the point, no extra bells and whistles. Now where the best part started was how easy it was to setup the device. Instead of plugging it in and letting Windows get drivers, I followed what other reviewers said and went on their website (in the booklet) to download the latest drivers. It has been running with my computer since this morning and appears to be working very well! The 5Ghz speeds are MUCH better than my onboard WiFi. I will update this review with a further if I feel like there is more to add/notify, but so far I am VERY happy with my purchase, but keep in mind, this is a first day review and I'm hoping it continues to work just like this in the future. PS: Quality wise it seems good enough, I personally am just going to be keeping it on my table and so will not be unplugging/plugging the USB much. I am not sure how someone who would be using it on a travelling basis would consider the quality as I don't do that often enough.
