Despite all the positive feedback on this item I was sceptical to say the least, one because there are a lot of people who it hasn't worked for and two because there are so many different products on the market that claim to do the same job, many of which are much more expensive than this one, and I'm a big believer in the old "you get what you pay for" saying, but in the end I decided it was worth a punt at £12 with free delivery.It all started when I bought a new computer (a desktop) mainly for my eldest lad because he was always frustrated by the performance of the laptop, but then I had a new problem! the computer is set up in the extension which is a good distance from the hub and with several walls in between, I had a little usb wifi adaptor but the internet speeds were still poor and to hard wire it directly to the hub wasn't really practical due to the distance and obstructions, and my son was driving me mad complaining about lag!Well to get to the point this item was easy to install with simple step by step instructions and an installation disc included, and it takes up little space and is easy on the eye, it doesn't need a separate power source and is powered by a usb lead, the difference has been astonishing! the computer is now super fast and lag is a thing of the past and my son has stopped whining, this gadget has by far exceeded all my expectations and we are delighted with it, so if you are suffering with slow speeds like we used to I highly recommend this little beauty, it worked for us.

Given the price I wasn't sure what to expect with this. The location of my pc in my uni house is dodgy at best, as it is as far away from the router as it can be, with multiple walls between them. My old Belkin adapter couldn't handle it (my partner's brand new Samsung laptop can't maintain a stable connection in the room either). I knew I needed to change though and thought that the double antenna set up may help.Well I can tell you it is AMAZING. I have gone from an unstable connection of 1 bar to 3 bars, and now have a full 5 bar constant connection. I can't believe my eyes!The Virgin Media router isn't the best at all and has had some issues with connectivity, but after doing speed tests with both adapters I have gone from an up-and-down connection ranging between 0 and 5mbps every 2 minutes to a steady 12-15mbps. The low speeds with the Belkin was due to a combination of shared bandwidth and the weak signal to the router. The TP-Link seems to have taken out the issue of weak signal altogether and now has steadied the connection. It seems to be able to get through the fuzz of all the wireless devices in my student house (5 of us sharing) and is keeping the 'Super' Hub 2 in check, even when sharing bandwidth. Bandwidth shouldn't be an issue anyway on a 60mbps line yielding a combined 30-45mbps, which is plenty for five of us.All in all I would definitely recommend this to a friend, as it has completely shocked me at the coverage it is offering over the other adapter which I bought for £10 more when I built the pc. It seems a solid buy, even for gamers like me who aren't able to have an Ethernet connection to their router. Bargain!Obviously I haven't had it long so this review could be subject to change, but unless it breaks before long (which given other reviews I doubt very much) I can safely say this is a good buy and has even shocked me into writing my first ever Amazon review!

I bought this Wi-Fi adapter as I updated to Windows 10 and my previous Wi-Fi adapter (TP-LINK TL-WDN3200 N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter) was struggling.According to TP-LINK, the TL-WN822N Wi-Fi adapter works instantly with Windows 10 - drivers are installed automatically (http://www.tp-link.com/en/article-15587.html).However, I had to install the drivers manually (you'll need a USB stick and an internet connection). See the bottom of my review for instructions.Unfortunately, our BT HomeHub 5 Router only kicks out 60Mbps at max, and my bedroom receives 30Mbps, so I can't test the 300MBps claim of this Wi-Fi adapter. However, the connection does seem stable.This adapter looks pretty neat, it's got connection stability, speed, and I'm happy with it. There is a blinking light, but covering it with some Blue Tack fixed that. It seems like a safe bet, as there's so many positive reviews for it. You needn't worry about drivers - but make sure you have this review handy to guide you, in case automatic installation fails.Would I recommend this product myself? Yup - it works pretty well! However, you should check if a 5Ghz connection would be better for you. It has less distance, and both your router and Wi-Fi adapter need to support it, but it'll give a cleaner, less congested signal than a 2.4Ghz one - which could be very helpful in a crowded apartment block.Guide:- Download the newest Windows 8.1 compatible driver from http://www.tp-link.com/en/download/TL-WN822N.html#Driver- Open the .zip file, and copy the Windows 8.1 drivers (unsure about 32/64 bit? See next point!) to a USB stick.+ To find out which version of Windows you have (on the Windows 10 PC!), hold the "Windows Key" and press "R", type "dxdiag", press enter, and see what the popped-up window says about your Operating System.- Copy the three files to your USB stick, into an empty folder.- Go to your Windows 10 PC, and plug in the TL-WN822N Wi-Fi adapter. If nothing happens, follow the next steps.- Hold the "Windows" key and press "X". Select "Device Manager".- You should see something like "Realtek xxx Wireless LAN xxx Network Adapter". Right click it, and select "Update Driver Software". Choose the second option, "Browse my computer for driver software". Click "Browse", and then find your USB drive. Choose the folder that the files are in, then press "OK".- Your drivers should update successfully. I bought this product because my desktop doesn't have a wireless card and we've moved our router downstairs in distance for our TV box's internet connection via ethernet, leaving my desktop without an internet connection. My original solution was to bridge it with a device with wireless built in, which worked as a solution, but encountered some issues, particularly with ping, which I would put down to the wireless card in the device (or wireless signal). So I did some investigating with other devices, like my tablet and tested the connection (ping & speed) and found the differences staggering. 30-50ms ping on my tablet vs over 100ms (even peaking at 1000ms) on my desktop. As an online gamer, this was obviously an issue.Of course, I could have bought a wireless card and fitted it, but buying this product seemed like a simpler solution and it was reasonably price and have plenty of USB ports to spare. Set up was simple, I run Windows 8, which was not a problem, it just meant I couldn't use the install disk but had to download my drivers from TP-Link's website, which was easy to find and easy to install, no hassle, no complaints.First thing I did was connect to the internet, immediately I noticed my signal strength was at maximum (bear in mind, it's not the case for other devices in the room), so the 'high-gain' obviously made a difference. When booting up my web browser, pages loaded much quicker than before, I then ran a ping test and got 40ms and 5ms jitter, which is what I was hoping for. It hasn't changed my download or upload speed, but they were never lacking, the main issue was ping and connection quality.Of course, the important test is, how has it improved response time on gaming? Seems to be much more responsive. As of yet I've not noticed any lag.As a side note: I was a bit wary when reading reviews about installation of the drivers, but as I've suggested, I've had no problems, but then I used drivers I got from the website, so can't comment about the ones on disk. There's different drivers for different versions of the model, so of course, make sure the version numbers match.

I had been using a Netgear wireless adapter for a few months prior to buying this and I wrestled with constant usb reset/disconnect issues with it as it got too hot and would turn off all my attached usb ports as it disconnected. I had even made sure to turn off Windows 10's ability to suspend usb's but that made no difference. I was genuinely at my wits end with my internet connection so this was a complete shot in the dark based on other owners Amazon reviews as well as various youtube reviews.Swapping over to this instead I am delighted to say I have not suffered a single wireless drop or usb reset and I get my maximum download speeds with ease whenever I download anything via Steam. The signal strength is really great and even with 11 other wireless devices used in our household overall I am still managing to get maximum download speeds anytime.Obviously I cannot recommend this item enough as fingers crossed I now have a trouble free and consistant internet connection with a wireless kit that doesn't get hot and cut off randomly and after months of constant torment I can finally enjoy using the internet again. Forget buying any other wireless adapter on the market, this is all you need.

Moved a PC to another room and needed wireless connection. IPAD worked fine so I new there was a decent signal but the Belkin F6D4050 I had would not connect at all. Installed this one today on Win 7 which was very easy using the mini disk supplied. Immediately connected to my Billion router with a good signal strength similar to the IPAD but it has kept dropping the connection. As somebody else said when it drops you have to re enter your password which is a bind. It reconnects each time so far without any problems but I cannot figure out why it should keep dropping the signal unless the Billion router settings need changing. I will get in touch with Billion and see if they can through some light on it. I have rated it 3 star so far as it is a great price, easy to configure and when working, works well but I seem to be one on the unlucky minority who have the ongoing connection issue. I will update this in due course

I recently upgraded to fibre broadband with TalkTalk. The router has to be downstairs but the P.C. on which I work is upstairs. TalkTalk, naturally, recommended their Powerline adaptors which I purchased.My potential speed was 40 mbps but using the adaptors I was only able to achieve around 3 mbps.I purchased this TP-Link adaptor in the hope that it would help.I am very impressed. Set up could not be easier. It comes with a USB cable.You simply take it out of the box, insert the accompanying CD into your P.C. or laptop and within seconds it is up and running.I am now getting speeds on my P.C. of around 39 mbps. I am delighted.My advice would be not to go for the Powerline adaptors but go for this option instead. It is much more effective and to cap it all quite a bit cheaper than the adaptors (as well as being easier to set up).The only negative is that it is not the most robust build I have ever seen but it is unlikely to be abused so I don't expect problems in this respect.

I bought this just over 3 months ago and when I first had the product it was performing worse than an older version of this product. So I thought I should probably install the driver from the disc just in case... I did this and it worked up until just a few days ago. The product works, but not as it should. I have fibre broadband (37mbps speed on average) with a perfectly good signal on any other wireless devices in my house. However, when it comes to this device, i'm getting less speed than my old adapter which only works for a few minutes then loses connection, i'm only getting 5mbps! on this 3 months after i've bought it. I nearly sent it back in the beginning thinking something my be up with it and now i'm regretting not doing so. DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP TERRIBLE PRODUCT. I'm sure it's fine if you only want to use it with terrible broadband speeds, but even my upload speed is getting 12mbps through this, it's rediculous.

El tiempo de recepción menor al estimado,así que perfecto por me urgía bastante.Embalado y estado del pedido perfecto también.Muy pequeño cabe el la palma de la mano, el cable parece resistente. La instalación es muy sencilla. incluye un mini CD con los drivers y en menos de 2 minutos está funcionando.Lo he instalado y probado en un portátil HP en otro Samsung y en un ordenador sobremesa en el que finalmente se ha quedado fijo. En todos los casos ha sido instalado en Windows 7.Lo quería por que el router me quedaba bastante lejos como para tirar un cable hasta el pc de sobremesa, ya que esté está algo escondido. Desde el primer momento el funcionamiento y el rendimiento perfecto. En los test de velocidad, hechos un sábado por la mañana, obtenía el 100% del servicio que me ofrece ONO: 50 mbps. Realicé una descarga importante de más de 40 gigas en descarga directa de un juego cuando lo instalé hará ya un mes y he de decir que es muy estable y no se me ha colgado en ningún momento. Y he llegado a alcanzar tasas de descarga de mas de 6MB/s lo que me parece increíble con más dispositivos conectados al wifi de casa (2 iphone y 2 ipad obviamente no funcionando a pleno rendimiento a la vez ). El ping también es aceptable, mejor desde luego que el de la tarjeta de mi portátil HP.El resumen muy recomendable. Calidad/precio inmejorable. Estoy por pedir otro para las zonas de la casa con menos cobertura.

I am in the building next to my landlord. Prior to getting this device I could only rarely see the wi-fi signal. Now I get a reliable signal. I did have to hang it from my ceiling and made sure the pair of antennae point toward his router.

Da circa un mese ho acquistato questo piccolo adattatore per sostituire una precedente "penna wireless" di 54 MB - una TP-LINK TL WN321G ora non più in commercio - con cui collegare senza cavi ethernet il proprio PC SERVER/DESKTOP ad un ROUTER (il ROUTER senza modem NETGEAR R 7000):il risultato è stato ovviamente molto soddisfacente, per i seguenti motivi:1) la connessione wireless si è velocizzata di molto, passando immediatamente dalla precedente velocità di 54 MB ad una velocità minima di 144 MB sino a quella massima di 300 MB: ciò ha significato un miglioramento rilevante non solo per la gestione dei dati tra PC e SUPPORTI HARDWER connessi tra loro senza cavi, in modo più fluido e veloce - (persino i backup non interferiscono sulle prestazioni del PC) - ma anche lo STREAMING è divenuto davvero piacevole senza più gli inconvenienti dei blocchi delle immagini;Ovviamente ciò è dovuto anche al fatto che tale adattatore TP LINK lavora in perfetta simbiosi con il Router R 7000 che ha caratteristiche sue proprie per il miglioramento dello streaming.2) Oltre la velocità, è da apprezzare anche la particità del pannello di controllo di tale adattatore, che consente di leggere quali e quanti connessioni ci sono oltre alla propria, e soprattutto anche i CANALI CON LE RELATIVE FREQUENZE GHZ su cui tali connessioni accedono: pertanto con un buon router - quale es. quello in mia dotazione R 7000 - è possibile spostare la propria connessione TP LINK su una altro canale meno affollato, per aumentare la velocità dello stesso adattatore TP LINK (portandola es da 144 MB a 300 MB);3) Terzo motivo circa la buona qualità di tale adattatore, è la funzione che consente, con la semplice pressione di un tasto dell'adattatore TP LINK medesimo, di eseguire automaticamente la connessione WIRELESS in modo protetto al ROUTER, senza dover reinserire manualmente i codici SSID e PASSWORD: ovviamente tale funzione presuppone che anche il ROUTER sia abilitato a tale specifica modalità di connessione (che non rende necessario di re-inserire manualmente tutti i codici);4) Da ultimo, pratico e funzionale è la particolare funzione definita "SoftAP", cioe' la funzione che consente di trasformare tale adattatore in uno strumento con cui AGGIUNGERE UN PUNTO DI ACCESSO A I INTERNET OLTRE A QUELLO GIA' FORNITO DAL PROPRIO ROUTER (o MODEM/ROUTER): infatti tale funzione è assai pratica, perchè ad es. se con il MODEM/ROUTER si ottiene un accesso "RISERVATO" ed un accesso "GUEST", con tale adattatore TP LINK, è possible appunto aggiungerne UN TERZO ACCESSO, con conseguente alleggerimento del traffico sugli altri due punti di accesso: in altri termini si possono connettere più dispositivi ad internet utilizzando accessi diversi, così da ridurre le interferenze reciproche, o meglio LA COMPATIBILITA' DI TALE TP-LINK CON GLI STANDARD WI-FI 802.11 b/g/n, CONSENTE A PIU' DISPOSITIVI MOBILI, TRA I QUALI SPECIE GLI SMARTPHONE SINO AD ORA MESSI IN COMMERCIO, DI NAVIGARE SUI 2,4 GHZ DEL MODEM/ROUTER DOMESTICO ANZICCHE' TRAMITE IL TRAFFICO DATI DELLE RISPETTIVE SIM, CONTEMPORANEAMENTE, SENZA INTERFERENZE RECIPROCHE;5) Consiglio infine questo adattatore TP LINK, soprattutto per i PC SERVER DESKTOP, non solo per le maggiori periferiche che ad esso si possono collegare via WIRELESS, ma anche perche il cavo USB con cui esso si collega al PC, è di una lunghezza davvero comoda e funzionale, poichè consente il posizionamento di tale adattatore in modo da ricevere e trasmettere senza essere "costretto" negli angoli delle pareti con conseguente degrado della velocità, oppure senza il rischio di inciampare sulla "penna USB" sporgente dal server.
