I recently purchased the BLACK+DECKER 400 W Compact Jigsaw Power Tool and I have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. This compact jigsaw is a powerful and versatile tool that has made my DIY projects much easier and more efficient. Jigsaw received and immediately put to work cutting 4" x 1" timber fencing. Performs very well, the vibration at the hand grip is damped down quite well and the blade (supplied) is universal for wood only. The blade itself is firmly clamped in a twin screw holder with a roller underneath to guide and support while cutting. Motor cooling air is exhausted out just behind the blade to clear wood chips from the cutting line which is very useful! I have awarded 4 stars as the blade clamping screws can fall out when loosening the clamp to change the blade - they are fiddly to put back! Also there is no centre mark on the front of the baseplate to assist straight line cuts (I made my own with a paint pen - so can you!). I should add that my old unit would never cut in a straight line from new and was just short of twice the price of this B&D unit! A good solid unit for the occasional DIY'er at a price not to turn your nose up at - recommended!

Well priced husband loves it

I brought a jigsaw for much the same price but without the brand name, it fell apart. This one just does everything better, i am very impressed.

Arrived in good time but sadly with no blade! Excellent jigsaw otherwise.

Ideal for those DIY jobs , very pleased

I bought this to replace my 30 year old Black & Decker KS531 (370 Watts) which after 30 years of service finally broke in the middle of a job. This being the KS501 is smaller in size, good quality, strong, powerful & well made. It cuts wood like a knife in butter. It's easy to use and comes with a 2 year warranty. I contacted Black & Decker to register the saw on their web site. They said you did not need to register, just proof of purchase, so keep the receipt if you have any issues and contact them through their chat bot on their web site. It should have come with a kitbox, which was not supplied, I contacted Amazon and they gave me the option to return / replace or would give me a 30% refund. I took the 30% discount and store it in a box. Would Recommend..

For the price ok, but not great for angles, fine for straight lines.
