Coffee on the go indeed! And with no mess...
Initial feelings on unboxing were those of happiness. The wrong instructions were included - for the ground coffee and not for the NS model. But it's obvious from the products ergonomics where to put the Nespresso pod. The quality feels solid on the threads used to screw the unit together. I washed with hot water first and flushed with hot water to warm the unit. I think this is a good idea, as it would also be to warm the cup you are using too. I filled it up with water, added a Nespresso pod. Screwed together and started to pump. You need to do it pretty firmly, and after 4 pumps as the pressure in the unit builds, you could hear the pod inside engage with some very sharp teeth which puncture the pod. Don't touch the sharp teeth!! Strong coffee started to flow. I'd say after three pumps you could stop and you'd have a very intense ristretto style. I kept going as I like mine a bit weaker than that. Obviously the more you pour the weaker the coffee gets. I recommend to put about 10% more water than you would normally use into the reservoir so you have sufficient for your beverage. Just stop pumping when you're done. It was a little stiff to undo the pressure containing piece after I drank the coffee. No real mess. A rinse and it's ready to go again. Coffee was excellent. If I had to compare it to my dedicated Nespresso machine I'd say it's 95%... but extremely close. Maybe a tiny tiny bit thinner but really it could just be me. It's very good. Very convenient. And seems on initial experience, well built. Only word of warning: it involves pouring boiling water into a small reservoir, and then screwing parts together. So you need to be careful and have somewhere safe and stable to make the drink of you could quite easily knock it or spill water on your hand and hurt yourself. Really nice portable product. Intuitive enough to use without the instructions. Would make a great gift for a coffee lover if they already have a favourite Nespresso flavour, so they can replicate it on the move. It makes one coffee at a time and I'd say it takes two minutes or so from when your water is boiled to put it together and product the drink. So you probably wouldn't want to make a round of 10 cofffee with it. Really for a solo or couple of coffees on the go. Highly recommended

Fluffing great coffee
Had a bad experience with one of these machines only to realise you don’t go at like a bull in a china shop. If you had flabby arms before you won’t after. I tried the heat the unit and cup method and with a dash of hot water left in the cup. Makes the best and smoothest crema going .i am a coffee snob since I was 10 I’m 55 now I can take this out with me have great coffee and tone my arms at the same time . So glad I bought the device . Pods much easier especially on my bad brain days . In conclusion fluffing great coffee Update 13.12.25 ———————- I have been this solidly for a month and I have to say who ever invented this is an outdoorsy person . This devise is built to last Easy to clean And for someone with acromegaly my sausage fingers can work and get the pods out the device with ease I adore the case you buy as an add on Fab for not a) losing one’s pods ( crime do sure ) and b) protection the unit too Love love the pod case and it fits so nicely into the case Looks super flash in the park opening it up and it’s just all there Thank you Wacaco

Nice but...
I bought this in September 2025, Such a great product at the beginning. Exactly what I was looking. Then it stopped working properly in November, having some leak of water and not screwing back properly. I've contacted the wacaco customer service, who replied to my initial email giving some advices. When I contacted them again, as it was still not working, they disappeared. I ended up in an amazing return and refund. Very poor customer service from wacaco, what a shame.

A great solution for espresso on the go without the fuss
I am mightily impressed by this. I love coffee and making Moka at home and nespresso in the office. In general I don't like coffee shop espresso (which I drink). I don't put milk so acidic single origin coffee at fancy coffee shops doesn't appeal to me. I also don't want to be spending 3 pounds for coffee chain coffee. I have been eyeing a portable nespresso machine for the last two years. I was between this or one that is also heating the water and has a mechanised pump. I recently started a new position that at the kitchen I can't plug a machine. So I couldn't bring my nespresso machine. But there is a boiling water smart tap. When the Black Friday sale came, I thought it was time to get one. Here is my review after 3 weeks of use. The good * well made and designed * very light and small size easy to carry back and forth * very nice crema * very nice coffee The acceptable annoyances : * Doesn't do well with some pods (it doesn't puncture them well, and sometimes they come out crashed after pulling a shot) * sometimes water comes out without going through the capsule * hard to open the bottom after brewing (would have been better to have a slight grip on the top to help the twisting) The bad : Pricey when you can buy portable powered machines with the same price

Better than expected!
I bought this for a recent camping trip, but also thought it would be good just to have in emergencies when I might be out for the day etc, as long as you can get your hands on hot water or carry a flask, you're good to go. When reading some of the other reviews I was a tiny bit worried that this might be a bit of a gimmick, with flaws in design etc. That couldn't be further from the truth, if you handle it correctly and ensure things are screwed in place tightly, this this is mess free, and makes a perfect cup of delicious coffee. (also super easy to clean after use) I was so amazed by how good it was, very well made, simple but effective design, and in my opinion great value. The only way you could either burn yourself or make a mess, is by not appreciating how much pressure is going to be generated and not attaching the parts properly.. I recently ran out of my normal coffee at home and used this for a few days whilst I awaited normal service to resume, it was a god send to fuel my morning ritual/addiction. You can buy the non-Nespresso aluminium capsules at all supermarkets too, and they are super cheap. In summary, I would go as far as to say this is the best thing I have ever purchased of Amazon.

Life changing for travlling coffee addicts!
I'd heard about these from friends - that they were great, though not perfect. After a recent trip to Italy - yes ITALY - where there was absolutely no decent coffee in the hotel and none within reasonable walking distance (only an INSTANT machine in a 4* hotel!!!!) that was the final straw and I thought I would give this new model of this device a go. I must say - it's genuinely life changing! Much as I'll still hunt out a good coffee shop - when my options are limited (I'm in rural Japan right now) - this is an absolute life saver. (No offense Japan - you have some pretty great coffee here and I'm a bit of a matcha addict too. In fact I carry a tin of that around with me as well where ever I go. ) As for the device itself - it's a lovely item. It's built very well and clearly high quality. It makes an excellent single shot expresso - the tank holds enough to make a double in my opinion - though I've always leaned toward the ristretto so maybe I'm not the person to ask. As per my friends advice - I warm the tank up first with boiling water before refreshing with new hot water and operating the device. The coffee comes out at the perfect temperature with an excellent cremma. I've used Starbucks capsules so far and they fit well with no leakage or issues. (Note - do not judge this device if you use it with poor quality capsules I would say - they often fail and leak in counter top machines so I would assume they would in this. Stick to the better brands!) To improve the experience - next time I travel I will bring a small expresso cup with me as well - though the plastic one supplied is adequate for it's purpose. Anyway - signing off - I'm in need of another expresso fix. Enjoy!

Durable everyday use
I use this several times a day at work, and I’m so impressed. It’s quick to use, easy to clean, and doesn’t take up loads of room on my desk. Perfect for my quick espresso pick me ups throughout the day. Very durable

Portable and Manual Coffee Machine for True Connoisseurs
If you are a coffee lover who enjoys making your own espresso shots, you might be interested in the Flair Espresso Maker. This is a portable and manual coffee machine that claims to produce café-quality espresso without electricity, pods or filters. It consists of a detachable brewing head, a lever press, a preheat cylinder, a stainless steel tamper and a custom pressure gauge. It also comes with a carrying case for easy storage and travel. I bought this product from Amazon a few weeks ago and I have been using it almost every day since then. I have to say that I am impressed by the quality and taste of the espresso it produces. It is very handy for travel and easy to store. It saves me some time without grinding coffee beans. The coffee taste is very nice and much better than the Nespresso machine. However, this product is not perfect and it has some drawbacks that you should be aware of before buying it. First of all, it is very expensive compared to other coffee machines. It costs £59.90 on Amazon, which is quite a lot for a manual device. Second, it is extremely hard to press especially if you want to do more than one cup. You need to have strong muscles to finish the job. Third, you need hot water to carry with you and if you like latte you need a milk frother as well. So, who should buy this product? I think this product is suitable for people who: - Appreciate the art and science of making espresso - Want to have full control over the brewing process and variables - Prefer a rich and smooth espresso with a thick crema - Don’t mind spending more money and effort for a better coffee experience - Travel frequently and want to enjoy espresso anywhere On the other hand, who should avoid this product? I think this product is not suitable for people who: - Are looking for a cheap and easy way to make coffee - Don’t care much about the quality and taste of espresso - Want to make multiple cups of coffee quickly and effortlessly - Don’t have access to hot water or a milk frother - Have limited space or budget for a coffee machine In conclusion, the Flair Espresso Maker is a unique and innovative product that offers a portable and manual way to make espresso. It delivers excellent results in terms of flavour and crema, but it also requires more time, money and strength than other coffee machines. It is ideal for true connoisseurs who enjoy the craft of making espresso, but not for casual drinkers who just want a quick and easy cup of coffee.
