Great little TV for the money
Bought this for the kitchen and maybe in a Motorhome in the future. It is great little unit, very easy to set up with very clear instructions on the screen. Unless you are lucky to have a very strong TV signal, you will have to connect to an outdoor fixed aerial. Picture quality is excellent, there is a slight lag in changing channels but nothing to get upset about. EPG is good and you can select program's to record if a USB drive/stick is attached. I like the facility to play media from the USB port. Still pictures look great and seems to play most films I have tried. The remote is okay - you have to be quite close and at the right angle to make it work. Note that you have to manually switch off the unit, it can't be done from the remote. It's early days but I really like this TV hence I've given it 5 stars.

Utterly great little TV
This is such a fabulous item! I've not even used all of the functions and already I love it and would buy it again! The quality is good, picture is great - it's backlit so you can see it from any angle (makes the picture seem bigger somehow) and will be great in the tent or caravan - whilst at home it sits in the kitchen unobtrusively offering some company when needed. I am in a strong signal area and the little area that comes with it gives all the channels, even whilst stuck to the fridge (which is toward the back of the kitchen and middle of the house). May need to buy a slightly stronger aerial for other areas but I can't say for sure. I managed to get a 'used' item so cheaper, it is in perfect condition (box a tad scruffy but who cares about that?!) THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM!

TV in miniature.
Bought this to use in conjunction with a bird box camera. We initially set it up on an old TV but it took up too much room and we found this 9". Have not tried to use it to watch TV but it is exactly the right piece of kit for our purpose. The blue tits are already on view, building their nest and the picture is clear but interference is a little crackly for lots of reasons such as kitchen equipment running. It starts up immediately it is switched on and we are very pleased with it. Would make an excellent TV for small spaces.

Good quality picture, compact footprint
A very nice little TV that worked straight out of the box. Easy to set up & found a wide range of channels automatically. Good quality picture for such a small device (I used a high gain portable aerial rather than the one the TV comes with). On-board sound is a bit tinny but that's to be expected and can be fixed using external speakers. Overall, good value.

Brilliant little TV
Brilliant little TV: admittedly, I live in Central London, but even so, am very impressed with the pin-sharp quality of the picture. Also, since the aerial is on a fairly long lead and a magnetised base, it can be mounted on an exterior window frame, so delivers all available Freeview channels, superbly. Of course, for such a tiny set, the sound reproduction is tinny in the extreme, yet, once connected to my small stereo speakers bought to watch DVDs on my laptop - or, likewise, stereo earphones - it's totally fine. So, don't expect it to perform like a HUGE telly, but enjoy it for what it is: a jolly good bit of kit. Oh, and, also brilliantly, because it's a British brand, even an elderly female like myself can understand the Instruction Booklet! Bonus!

Disappointing service from August help desk
As others have said, the picture quality provided by this TV is dependent on the signal strength of the transmission. Where I live, I am in almost line-of-sight of the Heathfield transmitter at a range of about seven miles so I ought to get a good picture even with the supplied aerial or the August DTA240 High Gain aerial I purchased with the TV. In practice, I can receive the main channels using the high-gain aerial at the front of the house (which looks towards the transmitter) but not anywhere else in the house - presumably due to the effect of internal walls, etc? I wish to use the TV in the kitchen, so I have provided a signal from the chimney-mounted roof aerial which provides an excellent picture on all channels on other mains-powered TVs. The DTV905 is now connected to this aerial and, when using battery power, produces an excellent picture - albeit with rather "tinny" sound which is to be expected from such a small device. HOWEVER, as soon as the mains adaptor is connected and switched on, the sound disappears and the picture breaks up and is unviewable. Switching the mains adaptor off results in the picture and sound returning. I believe that this may be due to a faulty interference suppressor, but contact with the August help desk proved unhelpful. There appears to be no way of getting just the mains adaptor replaced, so the entire product has been returned to Amazon for a refund. Disappointing! UPDATE Replacement item now arrived which produces excellent picture quality on mains or battery, confirming my belief that the previous mains adaptor was faulty. Regrettably, the replacement has a new niggly fault. Every time the unit is switched on, sub-titles are displayed. Switching sub-titles off using the remote seems to remain effective only until a different channel is selected or the unit is switched off. I also find the User Manual to be pretty useless.

An excelent little TV.
An excelent little TV. Got this for my dad who has very poor vision due to a blind spot in one eye and blind in the other, he is able to have it close up so he can see it. I pluged in to site arial at the sheltered housing and it just searched out all the channels and it works very well. Just don't forget to plug in charger like they did and then I get panic call it's broken, so a trip to Dorking just to plug it in, the battery had gone flat. So defiantly a recommended buy. If you have problems tuning in with supplied aerial ( I didn't use ) try finding someone in your area with a loft or roof aerial maybe work then with indoor aerial, although haven't tried this.

and had been a disappointment from the moment it was opened
This was purchased as a gift for my brother for Christmas, and had been a disappointment from the moment it was opened. The quality of this item is quite poor in regard to the over all build quality of the item. The user interface is shockingly bad to operate. However, this biggest flaw of this "so called" Portable Freeview TV it was not able to pick up a "proper" signal. To elaborate, the only way I was able to pick up a signal using the aerial provided was when I had the aerial adjacent to the window, and even then the quality of picture was beyond abysmal. There was no actual image displayed on the screen, just blotches. The sound which was produced was also infrequent and full of static. That said, I did manage to get a fully working signal through the device using the external aerial mounted on the roof. The reason I did this was to test that the actual item could pick up a signal. I must add that the device also did not pick a signal using a third party indoor aerial. When comparing this to a DVB-TV adapter which I purchased for my android tablet, it is confusing to think that the adapter has a smaller aerial, seemed some what loose connection in the USB slot, but the quality of the signal is infinity better. My verdict: I was very disappointed in this item. I would recommend potentially purchasing a cheap android tablet and a DVB-TV adapter. In the case you can't pick up a TV signal you are still able to use the tablet to either read a book, or play games.

Ottimo prodotto
Consigliatissimo!!!

Great Small digital tv
Everything i wanted to work on the mini tv work great sadly in holland only 6 digital are available due to all channels from rtl4 are pay only tv so you get npo1,2,3 npo1 extra and two local channels , its a shame kpn are so tight fisted , as in germany and the uk you get 80+ channels , divice does not have netherlands for tuning in tv , but choose germany as they use the same systems , so you get all you want , watching movies and tv shows from my mini hard disk work great as does google tv and expat prime ( uk free channels ) both wotk great a real winner

Ein toller kleiner Fernseher mit guter Bildqualität!
Toller kleiner Fernseher. Naturgemäß einfache Bedienung. Und erstklassige Lieferung von Amazon. Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Produkt. Die Tonqualität über Kopfhörer ist auch gut!

False product statement. Not portable.
The item isn't portable. The aerial provided isn't adequate for the product to function indoors. According to the manufacturer if I want to use the TV indoors it was to be connected to a large outdoor TV aerial... which means it's not portable unless I install new connections in each room of my house to connect the "portable" TV to in order for it to work as advertised.
