Can i use any speakers on system i have samsung speakers with my 5.1 system and would like to use them with the lg dvd payer will they plug in to it

As long as the speakers impedance isn't lower than 3 ohms. Which is very unlikely anyway but impedance is important when matching up speakers. But it really isn't a system designed to be used with various speakers anyway. The speakers that come with it are perfectly matched and rated for the receiver it comes with. I would just use it as intended

are tall speakers for rear? and how long are the cables

Tall ones meant to go at front. Only the NW version has 4 tall speakers.

1) Can i use the tallboy speakers at the front or rear and the same goes for the others? 2) How long are the speaker wires?

The speaker wires are not hard connected to the speakers. So, you can use the speakers in different positions without concern for the length of the wires. I use the tall speakers at the rear and the small speakers at the front.

Does this system play from the tv or just the blie ray player?

If you have optical or hdmi that supports audio return channel then the system will play sound from the TV and anything else hooked up to your TV as well. But some older tvs will only pass over 2 channel pcm audio to a receiver so you might not get full surround sound this way
