The most impressive item I have ever purchased... probably!
I has a breakout of Green Algae making the water completely green and unsightly. I'd been on holiday and left a food block, which I've used without issue before, and my lights connected to a Hive plug as usual. There was a problem with Hive and the light was on 24-7 all week. I can only assume that was what caused the problem. I tried extra water changes and some water treatment chemical which improved it slightly but it wouldn't clear up. I bought this Steriliser after some research online and I can not believe how it has worked. Within 48 hours the water was crystal clear and I mean crystal clear... I am not exaggerating when I say that it is clearer than at any time since I've kept fish and tanks. I was honestly truly amazed. My tank has never looked this good. The filter unit is quite large in my 125l Juwel Rio but not overly and it is nto bad looking. I;ve placed it next to the Juwel internal unit. I will be keeping it in permanently where I had planned on just using it until the problem cleared up. Added benefit is the additional physical filtration via an easily cleanable sponge. Also provides bubbles near the surface which is good. Fish are happy, I am very happy! Well done All Pond for such an amazing product. ------------------ Update Sept 2020 I took the filter out for a while as I didn't think I needed it any more, the Jewel filter system works perfectly well... however. I suddenly noticed the water getting a little milky and then green. I put the Steriliser back in again and over a period of 3 or 4 days the water was clear again. It really does work. I've included some before and after pics now.

Powerful excelent filtration
I wanted an internal filter system for my aquarium that would circulate the water several times in a hour and contained a UV light. After looking at several options decided on this one as it ticked the boxes. After installing the unit in my aquarium and got it running I can say that it works a treat and performs really well. Water quality is spot on and the UV, so far, is keeping algae blooms at bay. It is good value and performs well against other more expensive units. Had small problem with the venturi not working as it should but with a minor modification is now fine. To sum up this unit is an excellent product and ideal for a medium sized aquarium. Update: Since installing this unit I want to bring to your attention a problem that has occurred. The UV 9w lamp in this unit gets so hot it is heating up the water in the aquarium and reached a dangerous 82f (28c). There was a steady rise in temperature, over a period time, that made me think my heater was faulty but after testing was found to be working ok. I guessed it must have been the UV lamp so switched it off and the temp started to drop. I overcame this problem by replacing it with a 5w lamp unit. So please keep this in mind.

good quality filter reduces algae
Easy to set up, just turn it on put it in the fish tank and over a couple of weeks it reduced the amount of green water and improved the water quality Good size, easy to clean Reasonable price Quick delivery only downside is the suckers are not particularly good so has ended up being wedged under a bit of rock

Brilliant internal filter
Brilliant. I have a 190L juwel trigon tank and have used the massive Juwel that comes with the tank, as well as a small back up filter (hygger that was about ÂŁ15). It was pretty good at staying clear, but then a week ago, I noticed the water was murky as the small filter wasn't working, so replaced it with this, as I wanted to try a uv light to make the water super clear. Massive, rapid change. The photos show it over 48 hours. Really tempted to get a second one of these and get rid of the juwel filter. Seems well made, fits together better than the juwel filter and the hygger one. Not had to clean it yet, so can't comment on that. Only downside is that the water is about 1.5-2C warmer than with the old filter. I haven't seen the heater come on since I put this filter in. In a 190L tank, that's not an issue, but in a smaller tank, it could make it too hot.

Bulb didn't work - was I sent a return item?
Complete waste of time. As soon as I opened the box I tested the bulb. I didn't work. There was nothing obviously wrong that I could see and weirdly, the bulb indicator light came on but the UV bulb did nothing. I thought I'd try it in the water anyway. I assembled the unit and gave it 24hrs in the tank. The bulb indicator light was on but eventually it went out. The pump worked fine but no UV. I disassembled it and could see no problem other than moisture trapped around the seal of the bulb protection housing which surely should not have been there. However, inside the protective sheath the bulb was dry. It made no difference either way because even before I tried it underwater the UV bulb didn't light so the whole experience was a complete waste of time. I sent it back and got a full refund. However, I was a little suspicious that the example I received was actually a returned item. It arrived two days early and was slightly scratched on one side. I can't be sure but it did make me wonder just how many people buy these filters and see that the UV bulb indicator light on and then wrongly assume it's working. If your water doesn't clear up you could easily assume that the unit was working fine when you first purchased it so rather than send it back you end up ordering a new bulb instead. The worst part about the design is the fact that the UV bulb indicator light doesn't seem to have any barring on whether the UV bulb is actually on or off. However much you want to trust that little violet indicator light you can't. It's meaningless. I still have green water but rather than try another one of these I've ordered a Fluval UVC In-Line Clarifier instead. More expensive but way more reliable.

very well priced unit that works very well ,
very happy with this and it actually does appear to have made a difference to water quality already . some weeks ago we had a load of baby fish appear in the tank for the first time ever - unfortunately my Mrs then went on a feeding binge ! which has caused an imbalance and a massive bloom in algae and hair algae , i am not a great fan of chemical treatment so what i can get out of the tank , i have and i have corrected the overfeeding issue , the UV should help with the free floating bits that contaminate the tank .. so far it does seem to be helping . -before i start , the unit is under 30 Quid , so its fantastic value ! , I'm not grumbling - honest ! things I'm not so keen on , the plastic is very hard and brittle looking , the clips on the side of the unit are hard work , the instructions say to replace the UV lamp 6 monthly which seems excessive , for anyone with baby fish its a good idea to wrap the whole unit in the cut off from an old pair of tights , the unit does draw water from around the clips and joints as well as the filter media section , potentially leaving you with liquidised baby fish , the bubble attachment is very noisy and seems to pulse which is double annoying . bits i like - price , easy to use , clips straight in the tank and is doing a sterling job at the moment

Bit of an uphill struggle, but … (update, it’s now developed a fault after three months)
Bought this because my fish tank is plagued by green algae. Have also added Phorax to the filter but thought this was worth a go. Well, it arrived with the outer box covered in a sticky substance which smelled like molasses and made a bit of a mess. Item okay inside though. Assembled and installed it and then wow, put my fingers into the water and they tingled, sort of a prickly, static feeling. Turned everything off and then on again one by one, and it was definitely the new filter. Contacted the company on their website for an online chat; very helpful, they said they would send out a new unit straight away. This arrived a couple of days later, but the box this time was only wrapped in grey plastic, and when I opened it the glass cover was smashed and the bulb in two pieces. Back I went to them via email and received a very quick response and was told that they would despatch the new parts without delay. I did suggest that they ensured a good amount of padding this time. Prior to receipt of the faulty unit, I had devoted a morning to removing as much algae as I possible from the tank so, to be honest I wasn’t best pleased as this means I will have to repeat the job. However, I cannot fault the company for their response to the problem, albeit that the staff in the warehouse need to be reminded that unprotected glass and the postal system is not a good combination. Time will tell if it makes a difference to the algae. UPDATE - it’s now December and algae problems have improved, although I also bought a window blind so I think that’s helped as well. However, the unit now appears to be “on the blink” as the UV light keeps going off. I expected it to work a lot longer than this. Not impressed. Contacted the company again and asked for a refund but eventually settled for a replacement (better than nothing). However, I decided to try a “Fish R Fun Green Killing Machine” which arrived today. It was much simpler to set up and time will tell if it keeps the algae away. It’s also smaller and easier to handle, and on reflection, I rather wish I had bought this first. To sum up, no I would recommend this All Pond item and after all the issues I have had I don’t think I would be keen to buy this brand again.

Very powerful and good quality
This filter comes with the sponge filter, UV lamp and bio balls inside. It is quiet and powerful and the venturi aeration function is realy good. It blows oxygen into the water and is adjustable. My fish tank water is crystal clear since I put this filter in. I am really happy so far. Thanks to All Pond Solutions. I will update later.

Ultra efficace
