Philips LivingColors Iris Colour Changing Mood Light (Integrated 1 x 10 W LED Bulb, Remote Control) - Black

I was a little apprehensive to purchase this product initially as it is quite expensive however I was delightfully surprised! The video, I believe, is a little misleading as it appears as if the light projects with an almost spotlight effect but this is not the case, it makes the whole room glow of the colour and although it boasts 210 lumen it is not too bright at its max (for show, wouldn't be comfortable for a long time) but the brightness is adjustable to suit any room/location. The possibilities of colours is just amazing, you could literally have a different colour for every hour of your life! The option to customize the colours brightness and intensity is really nice as you can really make it your own. The Mood light itself is made of a very high quality plastic. The lamp is intended to rest on the clear/tinted backside (flattened surface) and faces upwards. The mood light itself is visually aesthetic as it looks quite futuristic but can fit in almost all rooms; especially with the option of a darker tinted version. Once on, the back glows the colour that it is emitting which is a very nice effect as it doesn't just leave you concentrating on the light being produced onto the surfaces. It has a long power cable so it can be fitted into places quite far from the socket. The remote is very nice with a smooth, solid turning of the 'colour picker' wheel and integrated up-down-left-right buttons under it. As you turn the wheel you can see the colour change instantaneous which is nice. I especially like how upon clicking one of the three possible favourite colour buttons, rather than just instantly going to that colour, it blends it so it's not a robotic change to the new colour. I love the option to turn on/off the Mood light via the controller which takes out the need for an extra remote if you were planning on using a remote switch. My only down side to the remote is the clicking sound it produces when turning, although it gives a solid feel, it can become irritating as you spin the wheel round many rotations to get your suited colour but that's not enough to remove even half a star! Delivery was swift, it came 2 working days after ordering with no damage/dents. My conclusion: Pros: - So many colours it's amazing! - Lights up the whole room in a very relaxing way - Configurable to whatever you need - Beautiful design - Long power cable - Fast and pain free delivery - Very neat remote which functions well (batteries included!) - Set-up is easy. plugin it in the wall, pop in your batteries and you're good to go Cons: - The Colour picker has a ticking sound to it - It is quite large, not necessarily a con but if you're looking for something desk sized, this is not it - There are no grips on the bottom as that would inflict on the design but it also leaves it prone to sliding/rolling if knocked

The Iris is a great mood light, it's well constructed and very lightweight, good for transporting it to different rooms. It can easily light up a small to medium sized room just on it's own. By pointing it slightly towards the centre of the room with a yellow or white light, it will provide enough light for reading and can be treated like a normal lamp. Having the remote definitely makes it more fun and convenient to use than on the smaller models with no remote. It uses radio frequency so you can be in a different room or floor and still be able to change the light with the remote. To change the colour speed during Auto Mode, you just rotate the wheel clockwise for fast and anti-clockwise for slow. A great tip I've found is that you can assign/save the Auto Mode to one of the favourite buttons (by holding the button 5 secs while in Auto), this means you don't have to keep doing the 360° + 'I' button method which can be a bit tedious. You can also turn the light on by pressing any of the favourite buttons. Some slight criticisms would be the fixed power lead, I would of preferred a separate cable with a jack connection like on the previous generation model as it would of been more convenient to move about and hook up in tight difficult places like behind in between a desk and a wall. With it being fixed to the back you also have to be more cautious not to accidentally yank the cable. The manual like most people have commented on isn't very clear, It's recommended to check the online manual where it includes description to the diagrams and also information about how to use multiple lights with the SmartLink technology. The Iris provides a nice ambient to any room it lights up, it's one of those items where anyone can use it and enjoy the benefit it brings. It can be used for special occasions, parties or just for any normal day.

This was bought as a birthday present for my daughter. She likes to sleep with a light on, but not too much light. We've struggled to find something that would work as a light in the evening and then double as a night light. This is perfect! It's much bigger than we thought it would be, it's the size of a small football (not a tennis ball). It goes from pretty dim to quite bright and the ability to change colour is fantastic. The remote is not as intuitive as it could be, but once mastered very easy to operate. Having two presets is very handy, especially if you find a particularly nice setting. If you want a light that can change according to your mood, be used as a night light and a general light, have a remote control and a capability to be controlled by your phone (with one more purchase) then this has to be your "must purchase"! It's brilliant.

I thought I'd write this review to dispel a couple of the negative reports. I bought a couple of these and I'm very happy with my purchase the lights, even just one, lights up my big room (roughly 25 by 21 foot) just fine. Obviously it's not going to have the same output as a halogen bulb but for a lamp it's more than good. When I use an unsaturated white light, the room is filled with light and it's something I much prefer using that the ceiling fixtures. Even using the darker colours provides necessary light to do most things by. Maybe people having trouble with this aren't placing the lamp correctly. It's best to place it a few feet away from a white wall, facing it. Even elevated a bit if possible. The colours are vivid and the remote control works fine. You can scroll through the colours with the mechanical wheel or set it to fade through them automatically. Whilst in this mode you can turn the wheel back and forth to speed up or slow down the progression. You can also save 2 presets and control multiple lamps with the remote. All in all, great purchase.

I've had a Living Colours lamp for several years . This was bought as a second lamp in the lounge to provide a complimentary (or contrast) light in a different corner. It works well, casting a bright light over a broad area from a short distance - perfect for hiding behind a sofa and shining across a wall. The range of colours is staggering. It's probably safe to say that you'll struggle to achieve exactly the same colour twice without saving it in the remote as a favourite! The styling is fairly typical, a clear plastic case shows the cone that holds all of the brains. It's not possible to change the angle of the lamp, the flat-spot on the base means it's always going to face the same angle up a wall, but this angle does seem fairly well considered and I've not found need to position it differently. The colour of the lamp is controlled by a remote. A circular gadget with a click wheel and a colour dial. Spin the click wheel and the lamp will cycle through all of the various colours shown on the dial. This is where I feel the remote lets it down. Older version had a touch-sensitive colour wheel (like the old circular dial on a iPod) which allowed you to jump immediately to the colour you wanted or cycle through the colours by swiping your finger around the dial. The new remote will only allow you to change colour by cycling through the whole range so if you're on "red" and want to go to "green" you've got to get there via several complete revolutions of the dial and through either yellow or blue. It's not all bad though, the new dial does make it easier to adjust brightness or colour saturation by giving a much more positive response to button presses. And the new remote support a colour cycle mode which will activate a continuous, phased cycling through all of the colours. I thought this colour cycle mode would be a significant attraction - in practice it's awkward to activate and it cycles too fast with no obvious way to adjust the speed, so I fond myself not using it. In summary, it's the same great lamp that can create wonderful hues of colour that can transform a room, but the remote is a little "clunky".

I would recomment this to anyone, I have bought 2, To be honest I have not tried any of the competitors at cheaper prices but i feel this is bang on what its worth. There is no setup its literally just plug in mains and spin the remote to whatever colour you want. It has a brightness setting so you can dim it as low as you want to and there is a colour setting so you can have the colours as bold or weak as you want, I put this behind my TV and have it on full beam, It lights up the entire room and makes the wall its pointing at glow very nicely as whatever colour i choose The wall is 3M long so its quite a large wall. I bought this just as an entertaining toy for house parties and to get rid of eye strain during long computer gaming sessions and it works perfectly for both options. To be completely honest this has replaced the actual light in the room I dont even touch the light switch anymore i just grab the remote and pick a colour (I recommend a dark orange on the lowest brightness setting its beautiful). There is 2 negatives I can think of, the price obviously, would be nice if it was about £50 and the angle at which it sits, Its sits and points at about 45 degrees so you have to put it a few feet away from the walls which can be impractical at times, but I just balanced it in a way that it sits behind my TV pointing 90 degrees upwards and I have no issues with it really. Oh and if you think your going to get a detailed instruction manual forget it, The pictures and instructions make no sense whatsoever so I just threw it away and played around with it for an hour until i got the hang of it. Last detail people might want to know is can it change colours automatically the short answer yes but you wont use that setting, Its pointless and kind of annoying, You end up just picking one colour and sticking to it until you get bored

Really love this light! 1. It's powerful - will provide enough light for a room - I aim mine at my wall and it looks great. 2. The design is nice - looks cool and sleek. 3. The remote control is good, solid and easy to use. 4. Plenty of different adjustments - do you want a deep blue or a pale blue? Bright or dim? You can remove all colour entirely and have an almost white light. You cam also set it to cycle through the colours and change the speed at which it does this by rotating the disc on the remote. I think it's a great light, had it for a year now and though I mostly stick with the nice soft orange/yellow glow, it's nice to have the other colours there too ;)

Bought this for a Christmas present for my girlfriend, ordered it on a Sunday and arrived on the Wednesday and came in a big box packed very well and no chance of damage, the product it self is a very good idea, great design and works very well, had a few quires at first as to weather or not it would have enough power to light up the entire room on its own but I was wrong to worry, it had no problems at all doing so, it has many great ideas and I love the colour table :) I'm sure my women will love it (I hope so, It costs enough, I'm only 15!)It will be given to her on the 25th of December so I can't tell you but I did give it a little test just to make sure it wasn't broken or damaged before I wrapped it, all in all good buy Scott.

Funziona 2/3 ore’ il tempo di programmare come consigliato. Poi non risponde più al primo comando e continua a peggiorare. Infine mi abbandona completamente.... per fortuna su”acceso “ . Ma con luce fissa. Riproverò a resettarlo, cambiare di nuovo pile.... poi lo rispedirò al mittente.

Très agréable lumière d'ambiance, facile d'utilisation.

Leider nicht auf den Anschluss des Steckers geachtet. Daher wäre die Lampe ohne Adapter nicht nutzbar gewesen. Daher zurückgeschickt. Leider.
