Anyone tried this with the Apple iPod Hi-Fi dock?
Can I use my BOSE remote control to skip the songs or playlists? Does LAYEN supports this feature?
Does this support bluetooth controls? i.e. play/pause and forward/backward?
Does this have an AUX 3.5mm jack for connecting with speakers, basically not using the dock slot at all?

Works Well on Hitachi AXM204UK

Very happy to find that this worked for my Hitachi AXM204UK, even though it wasn't listed. Nice, neat little device that just slots in to place and almost looks like part of the sound system.Instructions were clear, but it was so easy to pair you probably won't even need them.Sound came through well too - overall just really happy this worked out so well.

They ain't LAYEN, i-DOCK'd ma' wires fo' good and got me a bluetooth!

Works great with my Harman Kardon Go+Play II and aptx-capable phone!. This is the third bluetooth receiver I've tried and it looks like I finally hit the mark! I rarely give a product 5 stars, but this one is worth every one of them so far! (I'd probably throw in a couple more if I could!)My first BT receiver was battery-powered, couldn't be charged & used at the same time, and switched itself off after 5' of inactivity, aka, constantly. Not too suited for daily use with a hifi/dock, the lil' fella is now duct-taped to my headphones, which have become cable-free and quite aesthetically unique (for lack of a better word). The second one was always-on & micro-usb powered. Convenient in that it didn't switch off, but a hassle for everything else. No device memory, using it with more than once device was a nightmare (Attempt-to-pair, swear, unplug, replug, retry, curse, repeat); Audio quality was mediocre, but in particular, lack of aptx proved especially troubling: OK for music, useless for video (audio-video delay was over a second, so lip-sync was waaaay off), which translated into plug-in-BT-receiver-audio-cable-to-back-of-dock-for-music, unplug-BT-receiver-cable-and-plug-in-a-longer-audio-cable-to-laptop-for-movies, resulting in the world's first BT receiver requiring not only a wired connection, but a two-wire system involving multiple rewirings per day. This one, on the other hand (now that you've heard my soliloquy) ...is a delight! Worked straight out of the box with my dock, syncs with my phone immediately the instant I turn bluetooth on, no power cables, no audio cables to the back of my dock, no need to unplug or replug anything, videos are well synced and hollywood actors no longer seem retarded, it has no trouble connecting to my phone, then laptop, then phone again (yes, I tried and retried and repeated the operation ecstatically until my wife pointed out how annoying I was being), and on top of it, audio quality is fantastic! My music collection is all FLAC: I tried audio cable vs. Layen Dock vs audio cable several times (my wife is beginning to worry about my mental well-being), and was hardly able to tell the difference, and probably wouldn't have been able to if I hadn't known which of the two was was being used.To cut things short, my level of satisfaction is such that I opened a bottle of wine, started a one-man party and prompted a knock on the door from my elderly neighbours. Now THAT's saying something! :DP.S. If you buy one, buy it straight from LAYEN. My order got lost in the mail and their customer service was fantastic. They reshipped it as soon as I notified them that it hadn't arrived.P.P.S. Good news for Linux users: Works like a charm with the Sennheiser BTD 500 USB,P.P.P.S. The only drawback I've been able to find so far with this here BT i-dock is not being able to use it all the time. Wife and neighbours are sound asleep and and wine bottle is empty. Have been forced to revert to my duct-tooth headset. Tomorrow, though, shall be a loud and joyful day!P.P.P.P.S. No neighbours were actually harmed in the making of this review

Great little gadget

I bought this to attach to a Gear4 "HouseParty" boom box device which I used thus far with line in. The Gear4 has an iPod connector which was no use to me as I have no devices which fit it. The i-SYNC was a frivolous purchase looking to use an otherwise useless feature on something I already owned, I didn't really need it. The killer feature for me is no need for a separate power supply. There are loads of BT accessories which require a separate DC supply or USB connection, or even worse a USB connection which won't work when the device is on. The i-Sync does not suffer from this shortcoming so it scores highly on convenience.I am pleasantly surprised though. It connects really easily with two different Android phones and plays music without trouble. It's hard to assess the sound quality because the Gear4 itself isn't great, but with the volume cranked up to 30 (who needs 11?) it sounds pretty good. There were no technical problems at all and it works really well. This is a tiny little box - smaller than I had expected. I was concerned about it fitting in the available aperture around the iPod connector but this worry was unfounded. It's really little and fits in easily. The downsides are minor but are worth knowing about:- there's a flashing red/blue LED which is on quite a lot of the time, even when not in use and in my case at least, where the device it's connected to is in standby. Fine, I covered it over with some black insulating tape and got over it.- the iSYNC will connect automatically to a phone maybe 50% of the time. The rest I have to select it in the phone menu and prompt it to connect. This is true for both phones I tried. It's fine but the unpredictability makes it slightly less of a delight to use. This seems to be common with Bluetooth generally.- it's not the cheapest. It's reasonably priced, but there are cheaper and very similar alternatives. Of course, the quality may vary!Overall I'm very happy and would certainly by another one if I get another item with a proprietary iPod input.
