Bomb proof with a 10 year warranty with the 6 d cells loaded this is a good torch and a home defence tool a bit of a beast really all rolled into one

Purchased as primarily a home protection device and secondly a torch. So it would make sense to me to split the review in two. Firstly the torch: takes 6 D-cell batteries which makes it quite weighty. Not for the weak armed. The light is pretty good though, with adjustable focused beam of spread over more of an area. Does the job for poking around in the attic where the baddies might be. Part two: home protection device. This thing as mentioned about really goes weight a good whack, must be a good couple of kilos. I keep it next to my bed in the hopes should an intruder make his way into my fort, with the help of this torch I should be able to defend myself should the need for combat arise. Plus, the light is fairly bright so before they get near you a good whack of brightness could disorient the hazard, shortly followed by a stern thrashing with the baton. All in all, I feel safe in my bed with this next to me, and if I really do need to go in the loft I won't be as afraid. Would buy again. Might buy again to dual wield. Not sure yet.

This is probably the best torch I have ever owned. Having previously owned several other models of the Maglite I decided it was time to purchase the big daddy 6D. I use this torch for camping and walking mainly but also serves general purpose jobs around the house and garden. It is very bright and the adjustable beam is great as the torch can spread light or focus a beam. It's a strong and rugged torch so don't be afraid to use it and knock it around a little as it's built to last. The 6D batteries can be expensive but I have found that using a more expensive Duracell Ultra lasts quite a while in my experience. The bulbs for this torch are replaceable and a spare usually comes in the removable end on the rear of the torch however I have never needed to change the bulb in any of my Maglites. Owned for : 16 months + Used for : Camping/hiking/household jobs Battery life : Over 5 months (dependant on usage) My torch is used and often gets dropped or banged against things, nothing has ever broken on this torch is built to last.

I've had mine a while now and I am very pleased with the torch, I feed it on Duracell Procell Battery Alkaline 1.5V D Ref MN1300 [Pack of 10 ] and find that keeps running costs down. (The Duracell Procell batteries are great value in all the sizes). I've just given it a new lease of life by fitting TTS 3 Watt CREE LED 180 Lumen upgrade conversion bulb for the 4 to 6 D and C Cell Maglite Torch Literally brilliant and should prolong the battery life as well, in fact it's so good an upgrade that I've ordered one for my 4D cell Maglite as well. Both retain focusing ability. Now about that "glass breaker" end cap and the crenelated "bezel guard" and the ultra clear coated glass bezel. It can get a bit expensive but they are a great bit of kit.

It's solid, fairly well made and the torch light is decent. As others has said it lights the area up well around you and you can adjust it so it's more focused. I did upgrade it with an LED option the Terralux™ TLE-310M-EX MiniStar31M-EX LED Conversion Kit for 4-6 D Cell MagLite.

What can I say about the Mag 6 D that is bad,well its a heavy torch when loaded up with batteries,its long so if you need hands free you need a Belt Clip to carry it,shop around for these as you can pick up good bargains in surplus kit and they are better than some of the more junkie types,but apart from that no faults that I can pick out,if you don`t want a heavy torch to lug around get something lighter,this is the bad boy`s torch. Good points about this torch, I also bought the upgrade bulb for it and boy oh boy it is WELL Bright,just do not shine it in someones eye`s as you may do some damage and I am not joking its that bright,the upgrade was about £13 so its well worth the price and it does not effect the ability to adjust the beam from wide to fine beam.I have this Maglite in a second hand leather belt clip so when I am out training with my Police Dog I have hands free at all times and when I press the button the beam of light is amazing even the dog was surprised. All in all this torch is brilliant and I cannot sing its praises enough,yes its heavy but what do you expect with 6 D cell batteries in it,it lights up the night with a bright and clear white light that cuts through the murk when needed and can cover a large area when fine beam is not needed,would I recommend this torch to you,Hell Yes. If you want the Bulb upgrade and the Belt Holder,the Holder is from kit-ka-boodle and bulb upgrade from thetorchsite,both on E-Bay,Enjoy.

Cannot fault this Maglite. I brought this for the car; to double up as a great light source and also as a defensive weapon if needed (sadly there have been attacks on people driving on our country roads recently). The build quality is fantastic, loaded with 6 D batteries and the torch is more robust than my baseball bat! Originally I had planned to purchase a high powered LED upgrade, but I'm glad I held back. I can illuminate our local church tower which is over 250 meters away! Though I may still upgrade as I would like a 'whiter' light than the 'yellow' light, but 99% of people will be more than happy with the standard bulb. For the £26 I paid, bargain!

Already have the 2 D cell version about ten years old but needed a another. Large and weighty torch with a good light. was going to buy an LED version but this price I can afford an LED bulb to go with it if I needed to. Good warranty with Maglite, sent me parts to repair switch on the old one free of charge. Made in the US. Have since done an LED upgrade on both Maglites, fantastic improvement, about £13 each.

Inte så ljusstark som jag förväntade mig. Har en vanlig glödlampa i sig och inte LED. Har sen tidigare den mindre ML300L LED och den har mycket starkt ljus. Så köpte en 525 lumen ersättningslampa och bytte ursprungslampan. Mycket starkare ljus nästan lika starkt som ML300L. Inte uppenbart hur man byter hela lampan mot en LEF men man får pilla ner metallen runt glödlampan. Funkar utmärkt med amazons uppladdningsbara batterier.

Correspond parfaitement aux films et séries américaines des années 80. Toutes les conneries Merde in China en plastique cheaps ou électroniques ont été soigneusement censurées sur ce produit en vrai métal lourd certifié Made in California avec une vraie ampoule à incandescence. J'en ai une autre : on la pose sur une étagère, on la prend 10 ans plus tard, on appuie sur le bouton et elle s'allume sans souci. Version utilisable comme matraque en cas d'apocalypse Zombie. À avoir absolument chez soi en cas de fin du monde ou pour les utilisateurs exigeants. BONUS PREMIUM : aucune connerie marketing du 21ème siècle ne constitue ce produit du genre lampe led etc : du coup on peut utiliser ce produit même après une attaque nucléaire puisque qu'il n'y a aucun composant électronique dedans et donc résiste aux impulsions électro-magnétiques. Idéal pour les militaires et professionnels du sauvetage ou de la fin du monde.

I'll never have to buy another torch again. Highly recommend buying the LED upgrade bulb as well.
