Firstly there is a heck of a lot of competition out there for laptop coolers, the jargon and specifications are massaged to sway consumers as are some of the reviews. Not saying they are fake, just some people like the lights and like the fashion appeal.Firstly, as a sub £30 unit, you'd expect it to do what it says it does but don't feel it will be well made or particularly good quality components.However, not only does it work, its quiet and sturdy too.After a prolonged period of gaming, high demand video and sound pushed the core temps to over 65. I then switched on the fans and within a minute or so the core temps were down in the low 40's.So how are people struggling with this unit and others not achieving decent temperature reductions?1. They havent folded out the riser legs under the back of the cooling board. This is vital because otherwise a large portion of the hot air is trapped inside the frame area and the fans are cycling hot air.2. The key thing is to download an app, core temperature apps are available on all platforms and they are free. Dont be frightened of them, the only real thing you need is the core temps other stuff is for more advanced stuff.3. Sit your laptop/notebook on the fan platform check the core temps before you begin playing/work and leave the switches off. Once you hear the laptop internal fan kick in, look at the temps on the app, or in the system tray. If theyhave risen significantly, turn on your fans. Go back to what you were doing and then after a minute or two recheck the temps now the fans are at it.4. If you are getting noise above what you'd heard previously, check for anything vibrating or caught around the moving parts. Also use an air spraying device to clear any dust or debris and then vaccum the detritis away.It isn't rocket science, this unit is working, it seems good value, its lightweight and is making an impact.And it looks good too 👍

Bought to help my ageing Alienware high spec laptop and despite only using today no hesitation in giving it 5 stars as the op top now running cooler than it has ever done.The four fans are operated in pairs by two thumb wheels on the rear and effective no need for any fancy displays. The left hand one sits directly under the Alienware fan grill and therefore is pulling in cooler air before we even start.The flick up stands at fear are plastic but do what’s needed and the front flick up stops hold the laptop securely in place without interference with operation. The fact it has no tray beneath like some allows the air to flow freely and the port means no loss of USB slots.Appears good value and pretty solid given its plastic shell. The fans running quietly even in highest setting.Well worth the money the LEDs no distraction either and appears to use very low power.I previously had a more expensive older version for an Asus laptop and this clearly outperforms on cooling.

It's loud. But it works well. It won't beat the fan cooler (the one you attach to the side fan of your laptop) by effectiveness, but it helps to keep the case of your laptop cool, and with it - the hard drives and RAM. The fan cooler is good for CPU and GPU, but it won't help you much with devices that aren't connected with side fan by heat pipes, you need to cool the whole case in order to do that, and that explains why the cooling pad is not very efficient, but why it's needed.Overall I would recommend getting this, but don't rely on it as your only cooling solution. Better get it after the proper side fan cooler.This cooling pad has two switches - for two upper fans and for two lower fans. It's very good design, because sometimes it's better to turn on those fans that are closer to problematic devices, such as HDD, or are closer to air intake filters. The switches are actually mechanical wheels, and rotating them not only switches the fans, but also changes the RPM. At full speed your laptop will sound like full size tower gaming computer.It also has 2 USB ports - they work both in and out, so you can connect the pad to external charger (better don't connect it to the computer USB port, as it will such energy from your computer and therefore may even add to the heat), and also connect something to get power from the second port. Like another cooler.Because of the way it works, give it time before measuring the effectiveness. First it has to make the case cooler, and then the case will cool the inner parts, like HDD or RAM. In 10 minutes or so you will notice the difference.

This was a spur-of-the-moment purchase on my part. I've waited a couple of months before reviewing, simply because I still wasn't sure I'd made the right decision.I think I have, though.After buying an ASUS Tuf FX505 laptop a month earlier than I bought this, I thought to myself, "you've just spent the better part of a grand on a laptop, you may as well spend a couple of extra tenners more on making sure it doesn't explode before its time". I already had a cooling pad, but it wasn't exactly top-of-the-range even ten years ago, when I originally bought it.So began a period of research on laptop cooling mats - do they even make any difference at all? If so, which one should I get? Would any of them be any better than the thing I already had for my old laptop? After reading an assortment of top ten lists, I finally narrowed it down to... none of them.I went to buy one, and this KLIM Wind one popped up in the Amazon search results, on special offer. I'd never heard of KLIM, and neither had most of the reviewers who'd commented on it either, nor did it show up in any of my research, but I looked at the specs and some of the customer reviews, noticed the price (which was considerably lower than the one I had intended to buy), and decided to take the plunge.And I'm really glad I did.As mentioned, I've never heard of KLIM, and KLIM appears to be aware of that - they've gone to great lengths to try to show that they're focussed on quality. When you unbox this thing you'll get a svelte black envelope containing a heartfelt tale about the product's eventful and fanciful journey to your house, which apparently included better parties than I've ever had. It really triggered my 'root for the underdog' feels.I'm not so easily swayed, though. When I tossed that adorable tale aside and unwrapped the actual laptop-protecting product itself, I was initially worried. When it's *not* got a laptop sitting on it, and you're just waving it around in your hands as a loose product, it doesn't *feel* particularly sturdy. It's essentially a (not-so-premium) plastic frame with four fans in it, with a grille over the top of them. It *feels* flimsy, at least when you're waving it around.That was a bad take on my part, though. It's not *designed* to be waved around. Place it down on a desk, put a laptop on it, plug it all in, and that whole 'flimsy' feeling fades away. It's difficult to explain, but it suddenly *becomes* sturdy with a laptop resting on top of it. While it was creaky and it rattled as I waved it around, once my laptop was sitting on it, suddenly it could support the weight of my entire upper body leaning on the thing without even making a sound. I'm currently writing this review on my laptop on this very cooling pad, and I just pushed down as hard as I could on the laptop's wrist-rest, and the pad didn't move and made no noises whatsoever. It's sturdy *while it's being used*, which is the main thing.And it really works, too. The ASUS Tuf doesn't even have intakes where the fans are on this pad, and I'm *still* recording a 10°C temperature reduction at load - I tested it on Fallout 4 with a series of graphical enhancement mods and the Photorealistic Commonwealth ENB, and it consistently ran 10°C cooler while on this KLIM Wind than it did without. It really does make a difference.And as an aside, I don't know if this is by design or not, but when your laptop is positioned 'properly' on the pad, a thin sliver of cold air blows up directly onto your wrists, which - whether by design or not - really helps to keep your wrists cool after long sessions. Imagine one of those Dyson Air Blade hand dryers, but less violent, cold, and aimed directly at your wrists, and you'll get what I mean here.There are two 'rocker' controls at the back of the pad; one controls the brightness of the LEDs in the fans (the LEDs are largely pointless, to be honest, as your laptop will be sitting over the top of them - you can only see the light effects when viewing from the side), and the other controls the speed at which the fans spin. I've got the fan speed set to maximum permanently, and it's still pretty quiet compared to the laptop's own internal fans. These two 'rockers' are somewhat difficult to access unless you're looking directly at them, and they could potentially have been better-placed on the side somewhere, but they work and do their job.The cooling pad connects to your laptop with a USB cable, and you have two USB ports on the back of the pad. One of those USB ports will be taken up by connecting the pad to the laptop, but while connected to your laptop the extra port is essentially a mini-hub that you can plug anything into. This means that you essentially don't lose a USB port due to the pad - I've stuck my mouse dongle into the spare port on the back of the pad, where I don't need to worry about it ever again.Once you've got the thing placed on your desk, you've got a couple of positioning options. You can either let it lie flat on your desk, or you can use the 'feet' at the back to raise it up. I've got it raised up on the legs; I find it more comfortable like that, and the pad doubles as a riser in that configuration. There are a couple of 'frontal pegs' (as the product description calls them) at the front of the pad which you can kick up to prevent the laptop from sliding down when it's tilted in this way.Those 'frontal pegs' do indeed stop your laptop from sliding off the pad when it's angled, but they do form my primary complaint about this product - they have pretty sharp corners, with no kind of rubber coating or cushioning at all. My personal ASUS laptop is quite a thick gaming laptop, so those corners are somewhat flush with the body of the laptop and only present a problem if I happen to catch myself on them. But when I swap that out for my work laptop, which is a thinner, more conventional HP notebook, those sharp corners are a lot more noticeable, and protrude above the chassis of the machine - and can be painful! If you have a particularly thin laptop, these could present something of a problem to your wrists.This could've been fixed just with a simple rubber pad - and, to be honest, could be fixed by me with a bit of BluTak - but it's a notable downside to a product that's otherwise seen so much attention to detail.Beyond the sharp support pegs, though I have absolutely no complaints and no regrets. I've even bought a second one for my nephew!P.S. Make sure you dust your desk before you turn this thing on - the fans *are not* weak, and *will* suck-up anything beneath them!

I was shocked when I ran benchmarks via 3dmark on my 16 inch Acer Swift Edge laptop - I saw increases in performance of about 40-45% when using this cooling pad. The cooling pad is simple, feels relatively robust and works.

My laptop was getting hot-it was blowing out hot air from the side-vent, making the usb cables hot. This got serious especially when using programs like Unity or Unreal. I even had the laptop elevated...but nada.As you all know, laptops have everything crammed into a tiny space, and things get heated up. The lack of propert ventilation makes the components hot. And the fact that when the machine is sitting on a table or in your lap...the air circulation is blocked from the bottom. Laptops are not like desktop that theres enough space for 20 can-do a air circulation and cooling system is a must.I did my research and thought let me take the plunge into getting this. The reviews were quiet favourable but mixed.I have to say that this is brilliant.🎊🎉..THANK YOU KLIM...🎊🎉The laptop is cold to touch, and the fan is absolutely silent. At the moment I only have the two back fans on-and it is keeping the machine cool. The ability to be able to select the fans is a great option, and that extra USB power port is great for powering external speakers.Yes there are others with whiz bang coloured lights, and a BIG fan in the middle to make it look fancy...but to be honest-whose going to see the lights under the laptop. Mine is 17inch laptop and covers the entire cooler, so having LEDs are just a fancy. Although saying that I do like the GREEN LED cooler...😁So if anyone is thinking about getting one...definitely...as this is brilliant for your laptop. It will keep it cool and working to its optimum. The cooler will keep the fans operating optimally, and prevent any sensor failure. It will also prevent the laptop from shutting down prematurely due to overheating.Many have complaind that fans don;t work, or there isn't enough air being produce - but I can honestly say that with all the fans on - i can actually feel the cold-air on my forearms as I type on the laptop keyboard. I would say the speed of the fans is comparable to those found in the ATX tower cases for full size PCs.

You'd be expecting something better for the price at around £22.Hard to reach the controllers around a laptop once placed on it. That for me is the biggest issue for the price tag.It has dual controls for upper fans and other on e for bottom fans.The way it positions and holds the laptop and the size of this product, is good.Unsure if it will last as it states.As for the cooling, the rpm's are a bit on the lower end.Don't expect a proper vortex wind, it's just a normal fans colling pad, very basic.And, you honestly do not want to use a vortexed one that then might break smaller fans on a laptop.Overall, it does what it says and does cool down a bit a laptop.

First Impressions / PackagingSo the packaging was great, it comes bubble wrapped with additional stickers, company contact information, quick start guide, USB cable and a shipping note that was hilarious (see attached photo). The shipping note is very over the top and aimed to make you laugh but if a manufacturer is willing to go to these lengths to make the experience pleasant you know they've put time and effort into the product.ProductSo I was after a stand alongside something that would keep my PC cool, this stood out to me with great reviews and red LED lighting that complimented my laptop nicely.The stand can either lay flat on your lap or at an angle - quite a large angle that better suits me for typing, at the bottom most corners of the product are 2 hinges that can extend to keep your laptop in place. I found these unnecessary as the product is very rigid and firm being made from metal, in case your laptop doesn't have much grip there a nice additional feature.Overall the build quality is great with metal venting between the fans and rigid plastic to hold everything in place. The fans are controllable via 2 little dials next to the USB ports (see attached photos), 1 dial controlling the bottom 2 fans and 1 controlling the top. As for the USB ports that are included, either can be used to attach straight to any USB input on your laptop with the other then acting as an additional USB for your laptop, essentially your not losing a valuable USB port by using this cooler.Noise is a difficult one as I don't really mind a bit of fan noise, there is an evident whirr from the fans once you plug the product in however I find myself forgetting its there after a minute or so. I would say they are quiet although I don't have much to reference too. One observation is that my laptop ran cooler overall before the internal fans had to kick in - my laptops internal fan being much louder than these fans overall.TempsNow the all important bit - temperatures. This is going to vary laptop to laptop depending on whether they have venting underneath to allow air inflow, mine has several passive vents that can utilise this stand although id imagine some laptops have even greater venting which would allow for better cooling overall.Putting your hand on the product you can feel a nice cool and even breeze, like a cushion of air beneath your laptop, I was actually quite impressed by how much air these could push! As each fan is a moving part this will have an effect on your battery life, as there controllable though i found having them on minimal setting still kept me cooler overall with minimal battery drain.My idle temps without the stand are 50C CPU and 41C GPU, with the stand these average at about 42C CPU and 34C GPU.I used 3dMark Benchmarking software alongside CPUID to get an accurate temperature before and after, I ran a DX12 test on loop for 1 hour with intention to stress both CPU and GPU, results can be seen in the pictures but for a quick summary -1 hour 3DMark DX12 Stress TestCPU - 78 without stand, 71 with standGPU - 77 without stand, 70 with standSo overall I've seen about a 7 degree drop on average after an hours stress testing. Small bursts or casual use and idling I tend to see a 10-12 degree drop on average. I've actually seen a slight increase in my 3DMark bench scores also due to the cooler GPU. I must also note that I under-volt my laptop and have recently changed thermal paste and refurbished the fan and cooling system so my results aren't going to be overwhelming, you might see a higher increase on an older less maintained laptop as fan systems become more inefficient over time as dust builds up. Still I never see either the CPU or GPU reach above 78C even after hours of gaming on such games as GTA V running at 1080p very high settings.My build for those curios is a Asus ZX553VD featuring - i5 7300HQ, Nvidia GTX 1050, 16 GB DDR4 Ram, Samsung 970 Pro 1TB M2 Drive + Standard 2.5mm 1TB HDDSo under normal conditions this cooler/stand gives me a 10C drop in temps and looks great holding my laptop at a decent viewing/typing angle. Definitely worth a buy and would thoroughly recommend.

J'utilise le produit lorsque je joue à des jeux qui nécessitent de la puissance, et le refroidisseur fait son boulot. Depuis quelques mois, pas de soucis et l'ordinateur ne chauffe plus en jouant. Le seul petit point négatif c'est qu'il faut poser le refroidisseur sur une surface plate (comme un bureau) car à genoux ce n'est pas très à l'aise même si c'est une configuration assez rare pour jouer. Bref, je recommande.

I previously bought the Cyclone type from KLIM and couldn't stand it because of a whirring sound that drove me crazy within ten minutes of turning it on. This version barely makes any noise and absolutely no whirring. Much much better. It's perfect for my 16" gaming laptop with a bit of space for adjusting and will probably do fine with a 17"

Ventajas:-Es ligero.-No ocupa mucho espacio, para mi portátil de 16 pulgadas va perfecto de tamaño.-Coloca el ordenador a una altura comodísima para la vista y las manos, perfecto para editar o jugar.-No suena mucho, no se percibe apenas (evidentemente si estás callado en una zona cerrada pues suena más)-No enfría tanto(ver desventajas) pero al tenerlo en una posición alta hace que el ordenador pueda respirar por debajo.-Producto muy bien presentado y simple de usar.-La base es estable, mi ordenador pesa 2kg y ni se resbala ni nada, se mantiene bastante sujeto ( eso sí, no recomiendo ponerlo entre las piernas, mejor en una mesa, ya que el material no es acero ni nada y puede que se parta por una mala posición con el peso añadido)Desventajas:-Pensaba que enfriaría mas( no está mal, el ordenador se mantiene menos caliente que antes, aún así no esperes un congelador, a mi me funciona bien porque tengo un ventilador integrado en el portátil y entre el producto y el ventilador mantiene el ordenador frío, que no sé si hará la misma función para los que tengan un ventilador adjunto)
